Wii Sports version is more fun, and offers more throwing options

My family loves playing the bowling game on Wii Sports, which is why we thought this game would be a good investment for us. Wrong. The Wii Sports bowling game offers a way to put spin on the ball and you can also throw it at different speeds. This game only offers straight up throw the ball down the lane at the same speed every time. Boring! I'm very disappointed to say the least. Save your money and just play Wii Sports for bowling.

Disappointed

I thought this game would be really exciting because I was hooked on Wii Sports Bowling which I know is a demo and not a full realistic game, but I thought Brunswick would at least have the same level of realism with regards to the sensation of throwing the ball and hitting pins. It is so unsatisfying hitting even a strike in this game because you don't feel or hear the pins breaking sound as real as in Wii Sports Bowling. And the characters all are really weird looking no matter how you try to customize. In a nutshell, I think I'm going to be reselling this at some point and just playing by Wii Sports Bowling.

Lacking Everything

I am a big fan of WII Sports Bowling. Brunswick Pro Bowling is nowhere near the quality and fun of the original.
First, you cannot play multi-player in career mode. That's what's most enjoyable about bowling on WII sports.
Second, the throwing motion is awkward and the movement of the character on the screen doesn't match your movements.
The makers of Brunswick bowl really missed the mark with this one.

this game was a huge disappointment..
i love the wii sports bowling and so do all my family / friends...
i was so excited to get this game that i had preordered it and played it the moment it arrived... for about 10 minutes...
the graphics are so-so... the characters are creepy looking
the controls are akward... wii sports bowling controls are by far superior as they are simpler and more natural...
i could have gotten past all of this.. but... the gameplay.. ugh...
the actual gameplay was so painfully slow - HUGE HUGE delays between your movement and the onscreen bowler... not to mention the pace of the game...
the movements are not fluid and does not seem to be as accurate in timing or sensitivity as the wii sports version...
we played for about 5 frames before we were so irritated that we just packed up the game and took it to trade in...
if you still want to try it, go for it.. but i would recommend trying it as a rental first... i was never even able to make it through 1 entire game without losing patience... it was a huge borefest...

Not in keeping with Wii play

This is evidenly a quick and dirty do-over of a PC game...It does not have the continuity of a good Wii game as characters do not act in concert with the users use of the Wii sending unit...Action does not take place until user has completed movements, therefore, there is no way to get a good feel of the game...This is poor programming at it's worst...
Who do they think they're fooling...I guess they thought we wouldn't notice...I wanted to give it no stars, but, that is not allowed.

Very disappointed

I purchased this product and it doesn't work I have called the manufacture right after I received it but to this day 09/24 I still have not received a call back. I will never buy another product from crave. I would not recommend this game to anyone save your money wish I would have.

There is an obvious design flaw for the Wii version

I am going to make this short and sweet. Do not buy this game because there is a very annoying design flaw that will prevent you from enjoying this game. It happens after you have lined up your shot and you are ready to begin your approach. You must click the B button to start the approach, but alas the game gets stuck and nothing happens!!! You can click and move your Wii-mote around all you want but nothing will happen for up to 2 minutes! Ridiculous. The characters are beyond dumb looking. The graphics of the lanes and the oil feature are OK. But the whole "approach" design flaw will annoy the heck out of you and you will never play it more than once. Fortunately, I bought mine used and returned it the next day. The Wii Sports Bowling game is far superior. I hope they come out with a new version of that with different lanes.

no fun for lefties

I loved the Wii Play Bowling game, so I was really excited when I saw that a more "official" bowling game was released.

I am very sad to report, however that this game is a complete failure.
1. The game's sensing is no where near as sensitive and easy to control as Wii Play Bowling. I put several hours into the game and still was unable to recreate a consistent hook spin, or time out different releases for varying ball speed. Not only that, but the game does not register left-handed hooks. In order to throw a hook as a leftie, I had to flip my wiimote upside down....but on the plus side, lefties can throw the most perfect straight ball in the universe.

2. You cannot use your Career mode character in multiplayer mode. In multiplayer mode, you must use one of the premade characters with the preselected equipment. This is a mind numbingly stupid move for the game. Half the reason I bought the game was to place my bowler against my mother in law's bowler just like in wii play--but with brunswick, we'd have our own balls and outfits, etc.

This game is a total flop, please don't waste your money on it.

I was so excited to take bowling to the next level over the Wii sports bowling. It took my entire family an hour to figure out how to even roll the ball and when we did we found it boring!! What a waste of $40. The Wii sports version is awesome and I thought this game would add a little more adult feel to bowling. Stay away from this one.

one of the worst games ive ever played

i heard of this game and looked at reviews and the commercial. i rented it and tried playing it. the graphics are horrible and the animations are a little annoying. the characters are very limited. if you twist your wrist at al it does not mae a difference, than if you just bowled straight. the only factors that matter are where you aim it and the oil on the lane. the controls are also very difficult. this is an awful game. DO NOT BUY!
