5 minutes of coolness

I was psyched at first when I got this... Then I played it past the third level and realized three things. One, it was all the same, two, the horribly quick and epileptic camera movements usually resulted in my death, and three, once I died, I lost all my rings and levels further angering me. Rent this game, don't buy it. Also don't expect anything thought provoking, listening to these characters speak and lead you hand and foot through the game is motivating enough to end your life slow and painfully.

I don't know]- gamer is right!!

the gamer that put that he dislikes that they rate the game when it is not realesed yet is RIGHT!!I mean how could you rate this game when you never even seen or played the game!! Like he or she said, I go by the stars too! That's the number1 source that I use to tell whether a game is good or not! I want to get this game but how would I know if it was good or not! By you guys of corce. So c'mon rate the game after 10-15 minutes of playing time!

all the bad reviews are right, the controls are confusing and the game becomes frustrating because you keep falling off cliffs without knowing why. then you have to go back to the last checkpoint and do the same thing again and again just hoping for the best and not really playing anymore.

This game sucks

Pros:
Good graphics, tollerable music, kinda cool cities and all sonic characters are pretty cool looking.

Cons:
The most horrable voiceovers ever! Tails sounds like some idiot nerd with bad asma, that bee guy on the choutix team is really annoying and all of the guys on the rose team sound like some kind of bad spinoff of barney.
The levels get annoying and you will find yourself going in circles.
They have three different formations which are annoying to change from when you need to play through the levels.
They also have teams and they are all about the same except that there are some characters with horrible voiceovers on certan teams and they are always saying the same thing over and over again.
Overall this game is very annoying and not very fun, so even if you muted the tv this game would still suck.

Nice play but lots cons

This was a great game to play its just... you'd think they'd get the same vioce actors for tails and kunckles. Tails always sounds more childish, and kunckles always sounds.... wierd. the best vioceovers for any of these characters has to be the First Sonic Adventure. Which is, sadly, only for gamecube and dreamcast. This Game doesn't have the same quality of story line as the previous sonic adventures did. while the team thing was great, it was not great that Knuckles ability to climb walls was taken away. All we can do is hope seag realizes its mistakes. i hope the next sonic game is more like the first sonic adventure.

It's okay.

Hi. I'm Aaron Warner. My brother got this game. He freaked when he first got to try it. Of course, he loves Team Dark. Shadow was a nice add-on, but him going with someone seems strange. Not only that, but Team Rose can't be fair. If you count Big's frog, Cheese, and Cheese's twin, you get 6 team members. Team Sonic's problem is the same as Team Dark's: why would Sonic travel with Tails and Knuckles. Or, as a matter of fact, why would Knuckles work with Sonic. Team Chaotix is a little like Knuckles' levels in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle at some points. Each team has a problem. But the levels are awesome. A stage select menu would be nice. The team manuver is cool. But, using one button to change characters (I use Circle) would be nice. The moves are cool. To little bosses though. And the fact that the move for each team change (for example: when you press Square while jumping with Team Rose while big is the leader, he body-slams, instead of throwing Amy and Cream like the other teams). And finally, the fact that you have to unlock the battle and other special features (like Sonic Advance 2, which isn't my favorite Sonic game either) stinks. But, it's still very well constructed, game-wise and intermission-wise, and the characters are very cool. It doesn't beat any Crash Bandicoot things (nothing ever will), but it's still pretty cool.

Decent game if you are a Sonic fan...

I purchased "Sonic Heroes" for the Gamecube, however recently rented the PS2 version as I was curious as to how it fared against the GC version.

Let me begin by stating that if you have a Gamecube, you may seriously want to consider purchasing the GC version over the PS2 version. The graphics and sound quality are, overall, superior. (I believe "Sonic Heroes" was developed for the GC, then ported over to the PS2/X-Box.)

As for the X-Box version, I can't comment as I haven't tried it. I do own an X-Box in addition to the PS2 and GC, and perhaps will give it a rental try in the future. Given the hardware of the X-Box, I would be inclined to believe that the X-Box version is superior to the PS2 version as well -- but haven't played it, I really can't say.

(Note: By no means am I down talking the PS2. I have a PS2 and there are many PS2 exclusive games for it that I couldn't live without.)

I give "Sonic Heroes" 3.5 stars with the GC and 3 stars with the PS2.

Having played Sonic since the Sega Genesis, I had looked forward (with some hesitation) to "Sonic Heroes". Its a decent game, to be sure, however there are issues that I would like to have seen resolved since the Dreamcast (and GC) "Sonic Adventures".

The main issue being the camera control! The camera control has only been improved slightly since the "Adventures" and still has the player performing blind jumps in many situations.

Overall, if you are a Sonic fan, you'll probably find enjoyment out of this game -- as I do. Implimenting three characters in gameplay, switching on the fly, taking advantage of their individual strengths, was an excellent model that Sega put together. I really like the gameplay.

Its just unfortunate that the game wasn't "polished". Fixing the camera should have been the first priority.

If you are a Sonic fan, again you'll probably get enjoyment. If not, then you'd definetly want to give this a rental before purchasing.

Sonic Heroes- Good

Sonic Heroes is an action/adventure game that, in my opinion, is underrated. It might not be as fun as, say, Mario, but it still shouldn't be shot down like I see in the other reviews.

In Sonic Heroes, "Eggman" (the villain) plots for world domination (a bit cliched, but it works). You choose one of four teams to defeat him- Sonic, Dark, Rose, and Chaotix. Not many games let you do that. When you're playing the game, you have "formations". You can be in speed formation, power formation, and flying formation. It takes a little while to get used to, but it's worth it! This lets you do many more things than in a regular action game where "kick" and "punch" are the only things you can do. The bad guys are well-made. It's satisfying to take them out.

The music in Sonic isn't too bad. I can tolerate it. The voice-overs aren't so good (especially Tails- the yellow flying kid). The voiceovers don't make it a bad game though. You can just mute the TV!

The 2 Player Mode isn't so good. You race... I wish you could fight in this game. Oh well!

The graphics in this game are mediocre. (I hear the Gamecube version is better) I've definitely seen better graphics. But that's not what a game is all about. Now is it? I can't compare this game to all the other Sonic games out there. I haven't played many of them, so it would be impossible to compare. I guess the reason why I gave this game such a good score is because I wasn't expecting much. I've heard it takes a lot for a 2D game to become 3D. It isn't easy. I thought they did a fine job.

Not very good...

I love most every sonic game! This game though, was hard to learn how to play. The controls are hard to learn and remember. The voice overs are terrible! They didn't fit the characters and sounded like something was in tails throat dieing. It was hard to defeat the bosses and hard to figure out where to go, what to do, ext. I was very happy to see the chaotix in a PS2 game! I would buy more games with them in it because it reminds me of the comics. I also like the fact that they put Rouge in a game. I'd give this game 3 stars because of the characters and because they chose to make this game for PS2

Sonic is getting too extreme...

I begin to feel disappointed with Sonic for obvious reason - Sonic temas has traded off other factors for speed. Sonic Heros has overly emphasized speed than defeating enemies and finding treasures. In fact, if you don't keep rashing in this game, it might take over 45 minutes or even an hour to finish one stage.

For Sonic fans, I highly recommend Sonic Advance 1-3 (esp 3) rather than Sonic Heros. Sonic Advance 1-3 are 2D games, but it revives the spirits of the Genesis Sonic, including the fun treasure finding features in this original games. I wonder how Sonic has been becoming more and more mundane. Even Sonic Adventure 1 is better than Sonic Heros.

One more thing I complain about this title - the graphics is very confusing. There are three main characters running around in high speed simultanously on the screen, and I have tried defeating a boss without knowing what is going on in this game.

Sonic team, if you want to revive the glory as in the Genesis Age, be more innovative!
