Traveling the Road to El Dorado is a Whole Lotta Fun!

Until I purchased the DVD version of the Eldorado movie, which contained a demo of this PC game. I didn't even know it existed. Once I tried it, I knew I had to have the full version of the game.

The game has enough challenges and humor to keep both kids and adults hooked on it, from beginning to end. In fact, as soon as I finished it, I wanted to play it again!

The elements of the movie are all there, as you start your journey trying to figure out how to escape capture from the guards in Spain, finding a way off of Cortez's ship, and of course making your way to the city of El Dorado. There are also cut scenes between the action sequences from the actual movie.

This is not a long game, but the fun factor and graphics make up for the shortness of it. If you liked the movie, you will really enjoy this game!

Cute, but way outdated

It's amazing how quickly video games go out of date. New technology comes along and games like this -- released in 2000 I think -- seem incredibly primitive. Game play is with the keyboard, with the awkwardness to be expected of such movements. "Puzzles" are way too easy, even for inexperienced gamesters. It has some cute humor but the only reason to play this game would be for nostalgic value -- to remind yourself of the "bad ol' days" of cartoon-like adventure games.

I hate being too hard on it -- it did have a refreshing humor and some nice cartoon graphics, but once you've played today's more sophisticated games, it's hard to go back to this.
