This was my first quakr related purchase, and I have no reasons to regret it. I never get tired of it, for it gives me fun for hours and hours. I simply love this thing. The big box came with the original game, two mission packs, and an Internet pack called Quake2 Extremities. Thus there is plenty in the package to last a long while. I love this thing multiplayer. I wonder how I lived before I got Quake. :)

Great value and fun!

This is an awesome collection! The QUAKE 2:QUAD DAMAGE box set is great! I personally like QUAKE 2 more than QUAKE 3 ARENA. There is a fairly solid single player game and a truly excellent online multiplayer component! People still play QUAKE 2 deathmatch online!

In QUAKE 2, you play a tough space marine that gets stranded on an alien world and of course, you must fight your way out. This is standard FPS fare, but it is still a lot of fun. There are over 30 levels so you won't get bored anytime soon. Most of the puzzles are "find the key to open the door" stuff, but these very puzzles get a little more challenging by the end of the game!

QUAKE 2:QUAD DAMAGE comes with the two Mission Packs, The RECKONING and GROUND ZERO. Both are a continuation of the events in QUAKE 2. These are almost impossible to find on their own and it is awesome that they are available in the box.

Now the real fun of the QUAKE 2:QUAD DAMAGE box xet is the inclusion of the mod disc EXTREMITIES. EXTREMITIES is a collection of mod maps, skins, and deathmatch maps all done by fans of the QUAKE series. These are some of the best mods ever for QUAKE 2 and it should not be missed!

All in all, this is a great and awesome action game collection and I heartily recommend this box to all action, FPS, and QUAKE 3 fans who have not yet played QUAKE 2. It is a classic!

This is the worlds most best action-packed fps game ever created! This game will blow your mind away with its awesome AI! Theres tons of weapons you can use! The chaingun and railgun are my favorite, * Don't forget the grenades ... OH YEA The grenades are good too! This game has 39 levels of mission based objectives which some start out insanely easy to extremely hard. Oh and theres this little thing called muliplayer, It lets you "play" your friends online hehehehe, overall if you want a very good 1st person gutter than this game is a got to have for you!

Obviously this wouldn't be much fun if 'Quake 2' had been a dog, but it wasn't, and short of getting it on budget, this is the best way to buy it. After the hugely popular but disappointing 'Quake', '2' was more of a proper sequel to the original 'Doom'. Introducing colours other than green and brown, and re-introducing the BFG, '2' was faster-paced and better-looking, and is still good fun, both single-player and over the internet. With the exception of some terrible explosions, the graphics haven't dated too badly. The Id-endorsed mission packs are a bonus - 'Ground Zero' is the best of the two, and it has a chainsaw too!

very good game!

I absolutely adore the Quake and Doom series. I have played every single Quake and Doom game, but the only ones I actually have right now are Quake, Quake II, Quake II, Quake IV, and Doom 3. The old Doom games caused problems on my hard drive so when I was about six or seven, that was the last time I ever played Doom I or II. I've also played Doom 64, on Nintendo 64. I'd give anything to own all the Doom games to add to my collection... But anyway, I just got Quake 4 last weekend. I happened to buy the special edition, which includes Quake 4, Quake 2, The Reckoning, and Ground Zero, all in one package. There could be no better deal than that. The only problem is, Quake 4 doesn't seem to want to work on any of my computers. I have five computers (Don't ask...) and on the one computer Q4 works on, everything is green, the graphics are low quality, and it's so slow it's more of a slideshow than a game. Luckily I got something out of that 60 dollar purchase (This, duh). I love Quake 2. I've had it for about eight years and now I finally own two other games that were like expansions for it. Q4 looks like it could be a good game, but I may need a new computer for it. That's why these older games just seem so much better. They don't focus more on realism than just good fun gameplay. I'd rather it just be fun than be realistic. I mean not so unrealistic that it's like Pong, but still not Doom3 quality. Games with sorta pixilated and simple graphics like this one are really my favorites games there are, and it makes me sad that they don't even make games like this anymore. I suggest you buy either this package, or buy Quake 4. Either way, you will absolutely LOVE what you get. There could be no better deal than to get four incredible games in one box.
