How's things? And by the way, You sunk my Battleship!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 2

This game is great fun despite it's simple nature! How often do you email friends? I went from the occasional message to trading daily (at least) notes because I'm now playing a game as well. The Battleship game includes the Classic game that we've all played before. Turns are traded as email attachments and torpedos either splash for a miss or explode on a hit. Also, a jazzed up version called Fleet Commander can be played in which you can move the ships between turns and fire according to each ships unique capabilities. You can even detect the other ships with satellite to help your aim! I like the fact that both the Classic and Fleet Commander versions of the game can become more difficult by increasing the size of the grid. The person who purchases the game can initiate as many games as they want. The other players are directed to download a free "player2" version. I love the fact that you don't have to both be sitting at the computer to play and finish a game. I can send a turn and optional note and then go about other things. The only down side is that Hasbro is only committed to running the game servers until October 1, 2000. So, I'll have fun until October and hope for the best. :-)
