This games Multiplayer rocks!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 2

This game is great! When I got the original I was a little dissapointed that the multiplayer wasn't working so I was stuck with the single player:( But after I purchased Breakthrough for some reason the multiplayer work and before I knew it I was slaying everyone! There are some great modes (Objective match) with some great maps too (V2 Rocket Facility, The Hunt). Anyways I want to inform you that this is a great game. So sign up soldier and get ready to be massacred by lt con da man. Thats me :) Hope you fools will try out the multiplayer!

Close to five stars but not quite

First of all, Breakthrough is worth ten bucks even if it is short. Ten Bucks is nothing. I am semi-surprised it went that cheap. Heck, buy it used for 5 bucks.
Anyway, about the game. The graphics, battles, guns, and sound are all very good. And one thing that I really like about it is that the AI is not so annoying. In the first medal of honor the AI would hit you without even aiming. Or they would see you even if you were extremely well hidden. The AI in this is better, and the action is crispier. Anyway, I think that for the price it is a good buy and you will be playing it through more than once.
It's a good game and was definitely better than Spearhead.

Medal of Honor : Allied Assault - Breakthrough

Breakthrough is an expansion pack to Medal of Honor - Allied Assault. It needs AA to install the game. BT is not bad but not as good as AA or Spearhead, It is much harder than AA or Spearhead, The black and white movie cutsences between the missions are fantastic. The level design and the gameplay is not as good as i expected, i expected a lot after Spearhead which was better than AA. There are also some graphical corruptions in the game, I got a lot of black patches expecially in the rain levels. I have a GeForce Fx. The graphics are also quite date by today's standerds. I would recommend Breakthrough only to die hard MohAA fans.

first of all i am not 12 i havn't gotten my account yet. This game is very good it doesn't add much to the mohaa we all know and love. But it will hold us off until moh rising sun and pacific assault come out. The game is very easy despite the fact that you don't get as much ammo as was the case in previous installments of moh. i don't see why everyone is saying how hard it is. there is about 1 mission that you have to try a 2nd or 3rd time about half way through the game (the sniper level) but then again i never could spot the enemy in an urban terrian. all in all the game is worth your money while still rather short compared to mohaa.

Another MOHAA sequel while we're waiting for "Call of Duty"

MOHAA Breakthrough is the second ad-on (after Spearhead) of the acclaimed MOHAA. This 3rd episode also ranked 3rd in terms of game play and overall fun. This episode contains 11 single-player levels and 9 new multiplayer maps. Obviously you will be taken in new locations like the battle of Kassemire Pass (North Africa), Messina (Sicily) or Monte Battaglia (Italy). The game also displays new weapons (who really care as they are not that new) and new soldiers (who really care as they are not that intelligent). The single-player mode is quite frankly disappointing as it is pretty much run and shoot all the way. The only good thing (not redeeming thing) is that the programmers alternate within the same mission FPS on foot and FPS in a vehicle (and that's great)...The multiplayer mode is the reason why (if any) you want MOHAA Breakthrough, the maps are very well done and new plus you get an additional mode, the "liberation" mode, where player can be captured and liberated (and that is a big plus). Overall you still have the MOHAA feel but let's face it EA is cashing on sequels that are very much minimalist...It's your call if you want them to do so...

very challenging

it's not easy, but it's worth a better score than a 6 or 7. i find it very challenging, with great graphics. not easy but engaging. a buy indeed especially at this point.

Just awful (sound gets a star, tho)

EA games has beaten this particular dead horse once too many times.
Whatever the original MOHAA had going for it has been gone for some time now. Perhaps we've all been spoiled by BF1942, but this boring and hopelessly frustrating addition to the franchise makes me wonder what a company has to do to drive its best brains out of the company (to Activision where they formed Infinity Ward and developed the eagerly anticipated Call of Duty) and hand the reins over to TKO software, a company responsible for such memorable PC titles as... as... Well this company has no titles. This their first game for the PC. They make games for wireless phone services. What do you expect?
Still has all the bugs that Spearhead had, enemy AI way higher than squadmate AI, enemies are all deadly snipers who never miss, it takes putting 7 rounds into one of them to die, and finally clipping. The Quake 3 engine is showing its age, and this ugly title could pull the plug.
Picks or pans? Pans. Cheers or Jeers? Jeers.
Save your milkmoney for Call of Duty.

Forget the mishaps of Spearhead and buy this

I am a Medal Of Honor junkie. I beat Allied Assult in 3 days and Spearhead in 2. Allied Assult was great, Spearhead was awful. The EA games at the beginning showed that it wouldn't be the same as Allied Assult. It was much worse than I thought it would be. The levels were harder so you had to play them over and over til you beat them. There were fewer levels because of this. Breakthrough was different. Despite being obviously shorter it took the same time to beat as Allied Assult. The game play was better and there was actually a plot. The game had a few sound problems but otherwise it went fine. The new weapons were cool especially the Vickers Berthier. The first level, the Kasserine Pass previewed the rest of the game and I new it would be good after that level. If your one of the people that said they wouldn't buy another Medal Of Honor after buying Spearhead, take it back before you look stupid.

Worth it for Liberation Mode.

Yeah, the game is short and uninspired, and they don't offer a whole lot of new stuff for multiplayer games. But they came up with the Liberation Mode, and it's almost worth it just for that. Basically, in Lib mode, instead of killing an enemy, you put them in your jail. Your team has to guard the jail while at the same time trying to free your teammates who have been captured and placed in the enemy jail. Usually, when the two jails are liberated, the games goes on for a long time and becomes insanely fun.

Fun Game, but more of the same

I'm still playing the campaign (on easy....having trouble getting past a certain spot). It's fun. But it's very similar to the other MOH titles. I'm glad I bought it, but I think it's time that they add a little spice to the game. The graphics and sounds are just as good as the other MOH games. There are a few new scenes. I'm glad I bought it. And the price was really good on Amazon!
