Games Magazine has been my favorite since I was 10 (I'm now 28) and it's helped me to learn how to think abstractly and creatively. I owe Games for my love of math and logic and good grades in high school and college. This is just a continuation of the most superb magazine on the market for increasing IQ and reasoning abilities.

good idea, but fatally flawed

As a longtime subscriber to GAMES magazine, I was excited to see this product. GAMES, in my opinion, offers the best puzzles and best variety of puzzles, and always has. However, once I installed it, I was horribly disappointed.

First and foremost, don't buy this if you've collected GAMES magazine for more than a couple of years. Every puzzle in this collection is a "computerized" version of a puzzle that has appeared in print (I would have known this if I had read the box more carefully). Secondly, since many of the puzzles are scanned directly in from the pages of the magazine, some of them are well-nigh unreadable. Thirdly, every puzzle is presented in a lame Macromedia-type interface that makes solving puzzles much more work than it should be. Lastly, several puzzles I played were unsolvable due to bugs in the program (e.g. a word not fitting into a grid where it should -- meaning you have to use the "Hint" button to fill it in).

Overall, I was indescribably disappointed in this product. Even given that all the puzzles are "retreads", this could have been done infinitely better.

Incredibly dissappointing

I have been a fan of Games magazine for years. Unfortunately, it seems they tried to cash in on their name without putting enough effort or quality control into this product. The games included would actually be easier to play using pen and paper than a computer screen--obviously, little or no thought went into the software design. A big waste of money.
