HULK=100% DESTRUCTION!!!

The HULK is gonna be an awesome game!!!! I'm a big fan of the Marvel Comics and the HULK is one of my most favorite characters!!!!! Here's why, he's cool for one thing, but mostly because he can lift or press 100 tons, posesses a high degree of resistence to injury, pain, and diesease, immune to all terrestrial diesease, his skin is capable of withstanding great heat without blistering, great cold without freezing, and great impacts without rupturing, he can leap 300 ft. and cover 3 miles in a single bound, he can mentally locate where he became the HULK, and he has over 800 lb. of bone, marrow, and tissue. Now if I ran into this enormous, powerful, man-like creature, this is what I would do.....RUNNNNNNN!!!!!

I cant wait until this game comes out! the graphics are so hot and the gameplay is awesome. You can use the maximum strength of the Hulk or the cunning slyness of Bruce Banner. With over 30 levels this game is gonna be awesome. The graphics are really alive. You feel like your actually the Hulk. I didnt plan on buying this game when I heard about it but when I saw the graphics and read what it had to offer I got my money ready.

With the recent slew of comic based films hitting theaters, video games based on the films are along for the ride as well. Most of these games hardly live up tp their licenses, but The Hulk almost succeeds where others have failed. Long time fans of the comic series will appreciate the game's storyline, which manages to tie the events in the upcoming Hulk film with events from the comic, and features appearances from Hulk regulars Betty Ross and The Leader. Where The Hulk shines is where most other games get repetitive: you basically run around from the beginning of the level to the end of the level smashing and bashing anything and everything you can. It sounds boring, but believe me, it is pretty fun getting to smash down walls, throw around enemies, and generally wreak as much havok as humanly possible. The basis of The Hulk is as simple as that, but where the game begins to sag are during the segments where you play as The Hulk's human alter ego Bruce Banner in a few stealth like missions that don't seem as well put together as the sequences where you play as The Hulk. Also, the level designs get very repititious after a while, and while some may wow at first glance, they can quickly become quite bland. The graphics are very well done, combining cell-shading designs and 3-D environments to give the game a gritty, comic book feel to it. The sound is substandard and your basic action game fare, but the presence of The Hulk film star Eric Bana providing his voice is a very welcome addition. Despite it's flaws, The Hulk is one of the best licensed (comic or film) games to come along this year, and next to all the other hyped licensed games (Blade 2, Reign of Fire, X2: Wolverine's Revenge, and oh yes, Enter the Matrix), The Hulk clearly outshines them all.

do not buy this game... rent it.

First of all the game is really really short. I beat it in three and a half hours if even that. I'm not saying it's a bad game the game play is really fun and the cell shading graphics are really well done. If you are a big comic book fan you might want to buy it but if your just looking for a good game rent it.

Close Your Eyes...

And just imagine for a moment just how bad a game like this could be...it is based on an upcoming film (problem #1: big license) that is being released just under a month after the game (problem #2: short development).
Now open your eyes and realize that this is actually a pretty decent game. It successfully balances its sneaking missions with its destruction missions (one typically leads into another). The destruction missions are obviously the focus of the game; environments are completely destructible: the floor even cracks when you jump. The targeting system (for throws) and general controls (movement) are a little sketchy, but you will get used to it in a matter of minutes. For example, the hardest thing to do is block missiles, thus hurling them back at the tanks which fired them. It is all a matter of timing. I figured it out after about three levels.
All this attention to detail in the Hulk stages is not to say that the Bruce Banner sneaking missions are boring or flawed, they are just not quite as deep as they could have been. Bruce's movements are limited to walking, crouching, grabbing, and a few punches. Needless to say, Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid are a little deeper in their control schemes. But the sneaking missions provide an interesitng change of pace between the destruction missions, and the puzzles are simple yet challenging.

In short, this game probably will not win awards for innovation, but it will not receive raspberries for flaws either. Basically, if you like beat-em-ups (Bouncer, Fighting Force, etc.) you will have found something that brilliantly surpasses the competition; If you like espionage games (Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell) you will be disappointed, but not wholly disgusted.

Also: fans of the Activision/Treyarch/Neversoft Spider-Man and Minority Report games will immediately fall in love with the gameplay.

One word describes my feelings after playing the first level: 'Uninstall'
Cons:
Graphics, gameplay (unless you like the waddling grunts and mindless smashing), control.

What You Gonna Do When The Hulk Runs Wild On You!!

When I first got the Hulk I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I wrong! It is incredibly satisfying to play as the Hulk and just go rampaging all over the place beating up badguys like there was no tomorrow. You can really get a feel for the anger inside the Hulk when playing this game because when he gets mad, you get mad and take it out on whatever is thrown your way. The separate Banner missions are a nice change of pace that keep things fun and keep the game from getting too repetitive. There is really not much to complain about here except that I really wish that the game was longer. It isn't that big of a problem though since it's really fun to go through the game again and enjoy it all. Definetly get this game because nothing is more fun than smashing through scenery, cars, buildings, and whatever.
