There are better games then this one...

This game has great graphics and fair game play. It is very boring after you have been playing it after a few weeks. If you dont have the rank, you dont get good enough ships to compete with the players established in the game already, and there isnt much you can do to survive on the big servers otherwise. This game requires that you are a member of a BIG fleet or you cant really do anything but give someone else points for killing you.

This game is all about team work. There is nothing for single players to do. Trade in the game isnt worthwhile, and the missions really dont do much for you. Most of the little guys (lower levels) are used by the big players. Ie.. to help them grow in levels, though you do get some points for helping them.

If you do play on the big metaverse servers, there tends to be a lot of lag when there are a lot of players playing. Certain types of ships tend to lag the game a some even with a big computer (I have a P4 1.6meg with 768Meg ram, Gforce4 video. If you have the minimum requirements, you will not enjoy the game unless you really turn off some of the graphic setting. ( not a lot you can turn off or on )

This game is not as expensive to buy at first, but the $.$$ monthly fee is a bit stiff for this kind of game when you consider the other online games there that are better, Like Earth and Beyond.

My suggestion would be to move on to a better game if you are into this Genre.

massivly multiplayer online game

good:
-community
-graphics
-free trial
-3 different factions with different bonuses and drawbacks on each
-many systems linked tgether in something called a Metaverse commonly referred to as MV

bad: patches used to be frequent however to reduce lag the current one has takken over a year should be out relatively soon though

low ranked ships are not good

i've been playing this game for almost a year..i'm hooked just keep trying.try to make some good friends and they'll help you with ranking up to get bigger better ships...

DarkSpace is a great game for those who want to command and conquer space ships and planets. It has a flawless on line support system that allows players to strategize commanding their own space fleet for planet exploration. The game play allows for a sensation of universal exploration combined with strategy. The audio sound track is a nice complement to the game. This game will keep you immersed with hours of game play, exploration, while moving up the ranks of commanding your fleet as you conquer planets and space ships. If your looking for a game that will keep you entertained Dark Space delivers.

i 'v played this game for... TWO YEARS! and i'm FINALLY bored of it .

Graphics are up to Doom 3 standards YES THEY ARE . The textures are very high res and the stencil shadows are very similar . I got a radeon 8500 128mb , 256mb of ram and a PIII 900mhz and it LAGS

i have been playing darkspace for not to long, maybe 3months and i have fallen inlove with the game..the grafix are very nice, and with so many people on a server at the same time playing a 3D game, you would think there would be a majjjorrr lag right? nope not even..strongly suggest this game to anyone who likes online Multi-Player games.. not a bad choice

Great space combat theme MMORPG! All PvP - no idiotic AI opponents to deal with. You can play for 5 minutes or 5 hours and have a good time. Continuously added content and improvements and a very responsive staff. Great community and good game play make this a sure winner for someone looking for a new way to get space combat fix.

if you like blowing stuff up this game is for you!

i have ben playing this game sence april now and ive become one of the top players in the game. i think this game is equal to or better than hameworld! you can download this game free off of the darkspace web site at www.darkspace.net with this you will be able to play on the newb servers for free with out paying a cent! "you will not be able to save your stats or advance above the rank of comander, also you will olny get the first 3 ship classes so you will not know the full potential of the game until you pay for it" for more rank and saving your stats you will need to pay 10 bucks a month but its worth it! right now there coming out with new game features such as new fighters and weapon platforms. but also for the people with more rank like me there trying to nerf the ships so noobs "like you will be if you play this game" can slauter us with small ships.... boo!!

This game has single handedly restored my faith in pc gaming. My PS2 is quietly gathering dust as we speak and I've been neglecting my girlfriend. Do I need to say anymore????

Think Homeworld and add everything that you thought should have been in the game and then some. And when you join the online community, the game will simply blow you away.

Basically, you control a ship (be it a combat ship, an engineering ship, a repair ship, a scout.....the list goes on) and have to conquer the galaxy against two other races. The beauty of the game is in its balance because in order for your race to be successful, you have to use all of the ships at your disposal.

Make sure you've got plenty of spare time, because this game will be taking up all of it.

Seriously, DarkSpace is THE best game I have ever played. The online community is awesome, gameplay is practically limitless, and if you ever need help, its right there. If your looking for a game that will keep you entertained for months on end, here it is.

I came upon this game by accident and downloaded it, started playing, and was blown away. A great community, wonderful graphics and a very cool setup overall.

Seriously would recommend this game to anybody interested in multi-player.
