A rehash of MM6, with a really bad 3D engine

More of MM6, with a "new" 3D engine that causes more problems than it is supposed to solve. The poor 3D implementation makes it virtually unplayable. MM6 was worth the money. You couldn't pay me to buy this game again.

An addicting pleaser in a proven form

Although Might and Magic 7: For Blood & Honor is not very different then it's predecessor, Might and Magic 6, it is just as fun. I admit that this game doesn't do much for originality, but I don't think all new games need to be original. This game takes a winning formula and just uses it again! If you liked #6, #7 is more then worth it. If you didn't like, or were ambivilant toward #6, then For Blood & Honor is probably not your cup of tea either.

Obsessively finished it and immediately started replaying it

It is similar in many ways to MM 6, but I loved MM 6. Character class development really matters in this game, and I found enough variety in trying to survive various battles that I didn't just sit and click the mouse through every fight.

Better than 6...and looking for more!

I enjoyed this a lot more than six - which had dungeons that took forever. In seven the game is still large but manageable. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is the limit on the upper spells - for example: you can't get around without Lloyd's Beacon (or rather, without extreme frustration) but that's only reserved for one type of player. Makes it so you can't play with the more interesting roles. Still, a nice sequel to six and I look forward to their next installment. I didn't have any trouble running and the graphics were great.

It feels like someone stole my money.

I guess I was spoiled, after playing Baldurs Gate and Diablo. The 3d perspective was poorly done, combat was tedious and hard to manage. The story seemed without a real plot. I really cant believe a company can release a product like this. Stay away.

Very fun if not innovative

Yeah, Might and Magic 7 isn't that different then Might and Magic VI, but so what? MM6 was one of my most favorite games ever, and MM7 does a decent job of sustaining this formula. It may not be very different from its predessor, but it still is a fun and very addictive world to explore.

I was robbed!

MM6 was very good (4 stars) for it's time. I would expect at least as good if not better from it's offspring. Well, that's my fault. When New World bring's out their next offering, that's their fault, because I won't be waiting with my $$$$$$. Constructively.... 1) Kill, Kill, Kill...I just finished a full day of duking it out with truckloads of Golems and Dragons only to find a Barrow Downs full of silly little goblins, ghosts and such...whats the point. 2)The game is too much about gold and experience and not enough about quests and adventure. 3)The storyline is transparent and passive, partly because most of my efforts are centered on $$$$, experience and Kill, Kill, Kill but mostly because, suddenly, for the last 2 to 5 percent, we shift gears from a medival slaughter to deep sea diving and a futuristic Space Ship and the games over. NWC, you owe me an apology and $60 CDN.

Might and Magic VII is a good overall game

This was my first RPG game for the computer, but I think it is great. The number of characters and items is wonderful. So is the amount of land space. Time moving between different areas can take a minute, though. If you buy this game I suggest getting the strategy guide for it.

Best of Hack 'n Slash

I admit the graphics on Might & Magic VI are downright ugly. They're hidious, consdering this game was released in 1999, NOT three-five years ago. The game is mostly a hack 'n slash feast, endless monsters berate you...but I love it! I've played so-called 'great' RPGs (Diablo, Baldur's Gate) and although those games are good, something about the Might & Magic series, 7 included, I like better. If you really like killing tons of different monsters, then this is a great game. If you don't, however, you could be in trouble.

Might and Magic 7 - Review

The 7th installment of Might and Magic continues the TRUE RPG that Might and Magic was in the previous games. No the 3D grapics are not like the Newest programs, but for a good Role Playing game this is one of the better ones. No need to spend big dollars on a Pentium III, it plays fine on a Pentium 200, or AMD or Cyrix CPU. I personally prefer the first-person grapics of this type of game over the top down smaller characters in some other games. In this game you play as multiple characters, and can have others join your party, not a Single character as in some games. This game also has turn based play, which is prefered by previous players of the other Might and Magic games. IF you want total real time game play buy an ACTION game, RPG's in my opinion require turn-based play to be enjoyed properly. Total Action games might as well be played on CONSOLE machines(Playstation, N64,etc.) , otherwise you are not using any of the features available on a PC system. I hope 3DO continues to write games like Might and Magic 7.
