Great game. Easy to modify

Incredible ability to modify and create your own wargames. I created an Alamo battle that was great. I also used the scenario editor/builder to fashion an entire fantasy world with unique units that interacted differently with other units. You also have the ability to edit the icons. Everything is very easy. Don't listen to what other reviewers have said.

Some people might complain about the graphics, but the game is several years old and for its time had wonderful graphics. Plus its a wargame. They don't need great modern 3D graphics.

Over all a five star game that would compete with many games released today.

For Strategy Enthusiasts and Purists.

This is the classic war gamer's board game of old made new. All the detail and richness of information. No fluff, just takes all the work out of the board game venue. Great value, great authenticity.

Abyssmal - Dont even bother

This game is overrated by the few who play it. If you want a more fun game check out the panzer campaigns or the modern
campaigns by hps simluations.

The Operational Art of War has a terrible interface, terrible game play, even worse support.

If you have XP dont waste your time or money. Incompatible.

The instructions book was the best part.

For wargamers that have the time and energy to spend on this game I suppose it would be ok. Personally I found it to be more frustrating than anything else. I was looking for something with a feel like Close Combat or Robert E. Lee: Civil War General; this game lacked appeal after I read the instruction booklet. The battle sequences absolutely sucked and they were the most boring battles since the boardgame RISK. Needless to say, my CD became skeet after a month of tinkering with the game. Final thoughts: A waste of money. Don't even bother to borrow this one.
