Hit and Run, review by Alex, nine years old

I got this game in August and when I got it home, I loved it very much. It has good Simpson ability, great voices from the show and the best part is you get to do tons of road rage. There are seven levels. I have beaten the whole game. Here are the Simpsons characters on each level:
Level one - Homer
Level two - Bart
Level three - Lisa
Level four - Marge
Level five - Apu
Level six - Bart again
Level seven - Homer again
The graphics are great. The only things that are bad is that you can't swim, can't get blimps, helicopters or airplanes, but you can go through glass. You can go through buildings. On level one, you can jump over a flaming stack of tires.

Very Fun Not perfect.

This game is a real riot esp. if you love The Simpsons. Lots to see and do. Lots of gags that you may not catch right away, from funny road signs to hidden interactions. You can jump in front of ANY car in the game and hop in and drive it around! -pretty kewl! Some of the missions are very simple to complete and some are really difficult and require good skills and some luck! You can thankfully, skip a mission and go to the next after you fail it enough times. I have Road Rage also, Hit and Run is much more fun.
Cons:
Both games (RR & H&R) make me nauseous after a few hours of play, Road Rage is worse - guess I'm getting old. ;-) Also, the camera function is a little squishy, sometimes it gets "stuck" esp. when you are on foot. - not all that bad, but could be better. Some of the charactor audio is the exact same as Road Rage like when Home says "I'm not a very good driver" etc.
Bottom line, if you like race games, or if you are a Simpsons fan, you'll like H&R.
I gotta get back and 'finish off' a few black sedans to complete my current mission!
Ba-Bye

Better than GTA???

Better than Gta??? Well I guess that is a very hard toss up. The point is however, that The Simpsons Hit and Run is absolutely one of the funnest games that I have ever played...PERIOD. I admit that I am a huge fan of The Simpsons cartoon, and this game brings every aspect of the cartoon to the game, including all the characters that we all have grown to love, crazy outfits that you'll recognize, and even Flaming Moe's!
The Simpsons Hit and Run is absolute pure entertainment at it's finest! I highly recommend buying this game, you won't regret it!

I really enjoyed the free range mode of this game, and got through quite a few of the missions, although many of them are VERY tough. I actually did better on the bonus missions (except for the last level) than the regular missions (yay, controller codes!!!) The best things to try in this game is either drive rampant or kick the crap out of a pedestrian while on foot (although I was surprised to get a hit-and-run from repeatedly kicking someone....huh???) I'm not a super great game player, but the vehicles are pretty easy to control and it's fun to try out different vehicles that you unlock in different levels. Shame the levels could have been bigger.... I initially got frustrated at some of the harder missions, but most are doable after some practice. I would rate this game as follows:

Graphics: 5 (out of 5) Very good, especially the movies, but sometimes you can see the characters mouths flapping too much when they're talking.

Sound: 4.5 The sound effects are EXCELLENT, but the theme music sounds too synthesized. I was surprised that the music wasn't as clean as the TV show.

Fun Factor: 4.5 The missions are tough at first, but the free roam and exploration is GREAT!

Controls: 4.5 The controls work really good, but there are noticeable reduncancies....probably for those who like using certain sets of buttons over a standard set) It can be a little confusing at first, but it's easy to get used to.

It's The Simpsons. Need I Say More?

Okay I'll come out and just say it. If you love The Simpsons (and who doesn't)then you'll this game. Literally. I just read a preview of it in Nintendo Power and it really looks hilraious. Homer walks around Springfield in his undies. Take it anyway you want folks. if you liked Road Rage, well then get this game. By the way, the missions are on foot this time as well.

All the cast members are lending their voices to the game as well as some of the writers. On the plus side the original developers (Radical Entertainment) are creating this game. EA Games however is not the publisher for this one as they were for the first one. FOX Interactive has that duty this time .

Between this and FUTURAMA, I'll be to busy playing them to thank the gaming gods.. I know you out there somewhere. :)

I have to get this off my chest first finally a Simpsons game that isn't BAD. I have to admit though the first time I put the game in to play I though it might sucks but it doesn't. This is like a non violent version of GTA without the blood or a heavy use of swearing but you use the Simpsons chracters in place of a nameless hood. I haven't played the game for too long (I am on the stages that use Bart.) but here are some pros and cons

PROS

Great graphics and sound I was worried about the use of 3-D graphic how wrong I was they look great

Good story and plenty of hilarious quotes from the various characthers that make up the town of Springfeild.

various unlockables

CONS

Camera om som missions the camera can just be SO unforgiving at certain tomes

You might find yourself re-starting missions as some of them are tough

For me the pros outweigh the cons and I bought it on sale so I am happy with this simpsons game. I highly recommend this for fans of the show and as a rental for others (maybe after you've rented it you might buy it.) On a final word They finally got it right after all these years someone delivers the goods for a GREAT Simpsons.

Brilliant Game!

"Simpsons Hit and Run" works on all levels: as a driving game, an RPG, and an adaptation of the cartoon. The entire Simpsons voice cast performs some of their best work here. 80% of the game's dialogue is brand new (Homer: "I just keep making God madder and madder!"), with the occasional classic Simpsons quote peppered here and there where appropriate.

The plot is actually quite engaging, although you can easily spend hours kicking around Marge or driving over Hans Moleman with your car. The game keeps you engaged even during loading times, via hilarious newspaper headlines.

Unlike previous Simpsons games that foolishly tried to attach actual plots (Bart saves Springfield from aliens? Please), "Hit and Run" stays true to the entire world of Simpsons characterization, making the mundane insane. Sample missions include Marge trying to stop a violent video game from being distributed by destroying the delivery truck, and Comic Book Guy racing home to be the first to write a negative review for the latest McBain movie.

So buy this game, right now, and set aside a lot of free time to play it. But please avoid making any "Best. Game. Ever" jokes. You can only imitate Comic Book Guy so much before you BECOME him.

I have to say, this is one of the best gcn games available. Whatever you do, don't listen to those people who say that this game is awful because it is so repetitive. Actually, the repetition is kinda funny. Listening to Homer yell "Watch it, I almost spilled my sundae" or Apu saying "300 horses of convenient power" is amusing. This is a great game. You drive around Springfield, which includes all the same buildings and people from the show, and unlock cars, do missions, and kick people like Milhouse, Nelson, and little Ralphy Wiggum. Be careful though, if you hit too many people or destroy too many things, you will go into Hit & Run Mode, where the cops go after you. The secret cars are awesome! Some of them include: Grandpa's WWII vehicle, the Family Sedan, Apu's Longhorn, a cop car, a hover bike, a limo, and Homer's truck Mr. Plow. If you don't want to do the missions (which can get pretty tough and frustrating) you can just drive around and run over people, or kick people onto the road to get run over by traffic cars. You can also run into the street and hitch a ride from any of the cars. I find this a good game to play after having a bad day. It helps you let your anger out. BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the greats

This was one of the best simpson games i have ever played. Nintendo and Vivendi Universal really made a good effort to make this game. Theres only one downside i beat the game in 3 days (but thats just me) You switch off as Homer,Bart,Lisa,Marge, and Apu, to try and save the world. This game has 7 levels Homer has 2 levels and Bart has 2 Lisa has 1 Marge has 1 and Apu has 1. This game was like Grand Theft Auto only without so much cursing and violence, you can run over people and kick them but they don't get hurt. This game is truley one of the greats.
