I bought this game yesterday, and it's already one of my favorite games! It has a single player and a multiplayer. The controls are simple. Every genre a boss stage. As you get farther the game speeds up. This is one of the best games ever!

That's the word that most aptly describes this game. I have never played anything like this before.

"Mini-games" is not a good word to describe the games that comprise "Warioware." "Micro-games" is more like it. You'd think you can't lose with 200+ of these games, but know that each one lasts about an average of 3 seconds. Usually you can finish them by pressing one button at the right time, or moving the joystick in one direction. You're given no instructions, except for a one-word command (Shoot! Escape! Choose!), and half the fun of each game is seeing how quickly you can figure it out.

The single-player game is played by finishing 24 "micro-games" in rapid succession, followed by a longer "boss stage." This was really fun the first time I tried it, but once I got through all the stages, I had no desire to play again. And unless I overlooked it, there's no multi-player games - just the option to take turns playing one-player micro-games and compete for score.

The graphics are not good but are 100% appropriate for this type of game. Most of the micro-games have "retro" graphics and are designed to look like old Nintendo or arcade games. This was the best part of the game for me, as there are micro-games based on The Legend of Zelda, Dr. Mario, Super Mario Bros., Excitebike, Metroid, and even the old Virtual Boy games. All of the games paid homage to old arcade games in their simplicity and ancient-looking graphics.

But I'd recommend a rental for this one. The replay value seems minimal at best. If anything, I might buy this to make other people play it and see their reaction to how incredibly strange it is. But probably not.

A missed opportunity

The original Wario Ware for the Game Boy Advance was a breakout piece of software that offered one of the best handheld experiences since the original Tetris. You had a bunch of themed mini-games tossed in rapid succession at you, and your speed and reflexes were put to the test.

This Gamecube version is pretty much a direct port, except it actually seems to lose a few things in the process (such as the funny animations that introduced the characters and their various situations). The graphics are a direct emulation, and you get all the mini-games as you remember them. The major selling point here is the multiplayer mode, which allows up to 16 players by alternating. If you want a fun party-game and don't feel like the cutesy Mario Party offerings, Wario Ware is a solid purchase.

Basically the gameplay and concept is solid, and the graphics and audio are too "out there" to be rated traditionally. It just feels like so much more new content could've been created for the Gamecube, and Nintendo just got lazy and slapped the GBA stuff on there. Get this for the multiplayer, but stick with the GBA for the single-player offering.

I got the Japanese version of this, it is one of the best games I have played. It is just as fun as the GBA version, but 10 times better. Especially the multiplayer modes. There are a variety of brand new multiplayer modes that are played differently, but still use the same insanely fun microgames from the GBA.

DROP THE MARIO PARTY GAMES FOR THIS!!!!!

This game is insane. I saw it in my nintendopower and thought it looked interesting. So I rented it. I couldn't put it down playing by myself. And once I played with my friends I knew I had to have it. This game is crazy. You play five second games against your friends or agianst your old score. I suggest renting this game before you buy it. You'll either love it or hat, but you've got to give it a chance. All of my friends who I've made play it have stared at in confusion at first but by the end it's all they wanted to play. So you've got to play it for a little while before you decide. Because the question isn't whether or not it's strange it's whether or not you enjoy that kind of thing.

weird but fun

This game has all these tiny games thatare only about 5 seconds each. Some I wish I would be able to play longer than what time they give you, but its still really fun. I need to figure out how to unlock a lot of things.
