The Best Tony Hawk Game Ever!

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is a series renowned for its amazing gameplay. THPS3 completely wipes the floor with the past two games, and all of its sequels have failed to greatly improve upon it. Simply put, it is the very best game in the series.
Many reviewers have given this game near-perfect or perfect scores. On the basis of its visuals, gameplay, variety, replay value, unlockables, and most everything else, I'd have to say that it pretty near earns those accolades. However, there is one thing that has ALWAYS bothered me about THPS - that is, the music. Some people love it, others are just fine with it. I immediately turn off the music whenever I play the stinkin' game, and I would have appreciated other options besides "ambience." I can't stand skater punk music.
I can't urge you enough to give this game a chance, though. It has made its indelible mark on the gaming world, and it deserves to be played. Do it.
The PS2 version is superior due to its steady framerate and online play. Otherwise, this is just as good.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is one out of the two best games!

Let me start out that this game is perfect! In every way imaginable! I highly recomend this game to anyone that likes video games even a tiny bit!
Graphics, 10/10 The graphics are amazing for a game released in 2001! Not one graphics problems A..N..Y..W..H..E..R..E..!
Sound, 10/10 Perfect, just Perfect!
Gameplay/ 10/10 I have never experienced a better game than this! Not one problem exists in the gameplay, or anything else for that matter!
Overall, 10/10 I have never played a better game! The only game that can compare to this is Tony Hawk's Underground 2 on the Cube not one glitch exists in this game anywhere, and thats saying something! And so if you do not own this game now on the Gamecube than stop reading this review THIS INSTANT! Turn of your computer and go by this at your nearest used game store and by it IMEDIETLY!

Super addictive

I haven't really touched the Tony Hawk franchise until now, because A)I'm not a fan of extreme skateboarding in real life and B)there have been so many iterations that I didn't know what version to start with. But I grabbed Tony Hawk 1 for the N64, and was instantly hooked. Tony Hawk 3 continues that fun experience.

When you get down to it, the differences between the first three versions at least are minimal. You have a large arena to skate in, and must complete certain objectives (nabbing a high score, helping people collect items, finding a secret tape, etc). The thing is the controls are so well-realized and the levels so varied that you'll always want to come back for another round, until you've spent hours trying to rack up that last high score. Each level has easy and hard objectives, and completing them in ascending order of difficulty really gives the player a sense of accomplishment.

The graphics are average with some good skater animations. This isn't a huge leap from N64 to Gamecube, but its a noticible one that the later versions continued to build from. Tony Hawk 3 also comes with another selection of songs for your pleasure, and as usual theres something for everyone. If you haven't played any of the Tony Hawk series, start from the N64/PSX games and work your way up. If you're wondering what versions to get, they're all so well-executed and cheap now that it might be worth your money to try them all.

The Game that wraps up why Tony Hawk is the Best Skater!

This game has a intresting touch to it. I want to meet Tony Hawk though... Anyway the game has 9 levels. 3 levels are competitions. They are Rio, Skater Island and Tokyo. If you win a gold medal on all of them, you'll get a video on your character. The other levels are the Foundry, Canada, Suburbia, the Airport, Los Angles and the Cruise Ship. There are 9 goals on each levels in which you have to complete to complete the game. You'll also get seceret characters and options that will break the laws of physics of the Earth.

THIS GAME IS HARD to control ( the characters ) and the music stinks and its a little boring but its cool because you can play as over 100 skaters including wolverine, Darth Maul, Kelly Slater, and a lot more!

This was the first GameCube game I got and still remains one of my favorites. Why, you ask? For starters, it's a fun game to play by yourself or with friends, mainly because of the variations of levels. Second, it's a major improvement over Tony Hawk 2. I had the Game Boy version of Tony Hawk 2, hence I prefered the graphics of Tony Hawk 3. Hope my review was helpful

This game was ok but there isn't really anything new compared to the earlier ones. Except for that there is a skateboard shop and a bunch of new stuff but the gameplay is still the same. tony Hawk 4 is the best one though.

Almost good

I like this game. But I will show you the chart. leavels 3/5 Come on. I beated the first leavel. And the tasks are easy. garafiks 4/5 The garrafics are good but a little blurry. Oh well I guess they tried their best. They should make the garfiicks, tasks and the game better. the lessons arent really good. It stinks that we cant go every where. It is almost the same as THPS2. You always end with olny one task left. You should really should get this game.

My Love for This Series Died After Number Three

This is a good game, but I personally have had enough grinding and flipping on a skateboard. This game features new skaters, new courses, new boards FOR your skaters, and an updated make-a-course feature. This game is definately worth buying, but the series might die down after number four. You should probably rent this one before you buy.
