Loads of fun

When I bought this game, I was skeptical. But I've since found that this game delivers. It's no masterpiece, by any means--but I wasn't expecting one. This game is good to get your ya-yas out, relieve some stress, etc. Don't buy Bloodrayne if you're looking for a complex story, stunning graphics, or innovations in the video game industry--this game is purely there for fun. Quite frankly, I've had more fun with "Bloodrayne" than I have with any other Nintendo title for quite some time.

Graphics--could be tighter. A lot of unneccesary attention is paid to breasts. Blood flows everywhere.

Movement--default controls are horrid, but you can change the control set-up and then adjust sensitivity. When the controls are customized, Bloodrayne zips around the screen like you would expect a real vampire would. Bloodrayne's combos are top-notch.

Sound effects--would have liked more music. Bloodrayne's witty banter gets old sometimes. But gun shots and dismemberment sounds are great. Strong language.

Innovation--utilizes "bullet time" ideas, but also includes heat-vision. A good idea. I like it how Bloodrayne can continue to use her guns even while she's draining somebody.

Buy it if your a fan of horror games and looking for an edgier title than most Nintendo offerings.

This is one of the best games that i have ever played. Lots of blood and gore.(Just how I like it) It may have only 3 missions but there is a ton of stuff to do in each one. Good graphics and sound FX. Dont Buy this game if you are looking for a scary game. Buy it if you are just looking for a great hack and slash.

Oh, and dont take the "Strong Languge" lightly they mean STRONG LANGUGE!!

Good for the right price, or a rental

Well, after reading the reviews on here, and the last three having horrible spelling and being the most unhelpful I've seen, I thought I'd try and shed some light on the game.

The fact is, this game was obviously made with intentions of being "eye candy" in hopes of selling lots of copies. As usual, that didn't do the company as well as say, putting more thought into the game could have done. The company that made the game, Terminal Reality, makes mostly medicore games, while this is the best of their franchises, it is still mediocre at best.

Story: I really didn't know what was going on. At first I was killing monsters and mutants, then it went on to nazis, then monsters that were possessing nazi bodies. That seemed to be the entire storyline... they didn't really put much thought into this I guess.

Graphics: Nothing amazing. They look like your typical graphics of a game from 2001/2002, but they are manageable.

Music/Sound: Good, weird sounds. Whenever you feed off a nazi or a monster, Rayne makes "mmmmm" sounds that are somewhat funny as well as distracting.

Game length: I started yesterday, and have almost beaten the game already. Estimated game play should be 5-8 hours on normal.

Controls: I don't know what people's problems are on this site with the controls. It's like they never played a video game before or something, because I got used to everything instantly. They feel almost like an FPS, though the game is played in a third person view.

It's a fun game while it lasts, and if you just want something quick to play through. Just don't pay more than $8 for it, and if anything, get the PC version instead. PC ports of games are almost always better than console ports.

Make a sequil . . . and IMPROVE it!!!

Congratulations: You found the GameCube version of Blood Rayne. Yep, it's still available...
If you're one of those gamers who are looking for more blood and gore, you're going to find it here. The game takes place in the 1930's, but if Agent Bloodrayne is still alive (this may be just a game, but there is no proof that she doesn't really exist) and has a Gamecube herself, she's probably be hopping mad that this version got short-changed. When I played an X-Box demo, I noticed some things there that were missing from the GC version: extra textures on Rayne's costume and darthish (work with me here, people!) voices to match the slow-motion. I don't know about the extra textures, but you don't need an X-Box to slow the speed of someone's voice (play TUROK on N64 with a Big Heads cheat).
+ Female Hero; lot's of blood; Nazi-killing (if you're not a neo-nazi gamer); Rayne says "F--k" on a Nintendo console; Rayne's outfit; cheat codes; nice tunes (they're in there, you just have to listen carefully)
- faulty controls (you have to press the shoulder buttons in until they click to get any response); lack of control options; can't rescue Jewish prisoners; can't fight Hitler; Rayne's lines can get repetative; missing textures from X-Box (and possibly PS2) version.
Also, there is a sequil planned for X-Box and PlayStation 2, and PC, but a GameCube version is not likely. Sorry, GameCube fans, I love her too.

the graphics are good the gme i fun. before i start if you get offended by cussin cause they do say f**k and strong and i mean strong bloog and gore dont boher buying it. its definately not for kids. cause i have it and im a kid. this game is great with tons of enemies from spiders to nazis and zombies and other strange creatures that i dont even know wats called. you play as a vampire who to restore health can get it back by suckin blood.its a third person view. she haa knives on attached to her legs and hands so wen she figts she slices. people get cut in half get heads chopped offeven legs and hands. the blood is is is is how shoud i describe it ... harsh, all over the place, goriest game on list award. beside karate you can use cool guns you can even useboth hand to use to different guns at the same time. even rocket launchers and the do damge. u can make bridges collapse and stuff blow up. wen u suck blood on a person during battle you can shot still so the let turn the body around to use it as a shield or you can shoot the people while suckin blood. the game is scary and the levels look scary. you fight in grave yards, houses, flooded places, in warehouses, factories, nazi buildings, strange mutation facilities and even inside a creatures body. therers non stop fighting and tons of action. the bosses ar massive from strange to stranger. its a tough game. and has over 20 levels. its fun. ifyou like gore this is must have.

Another One

This game is just a quick way of making cash. It's a bad game and the developer is hoping it will sell because of its sex appeal and intense amounts of gore. Don't be fooled, this game is going to be a mediocre (at best) action game. The game is basically a rip off Max Payne, Devil May Cry 2, and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain with a lot more gore, sex appeal, and the gameplay doesn't nearly match up to the games it is "ripping off" from. The gameplay is supposivly very similar to Resident Evil. Although I love Resident Evil, this game is a fast paced action game and RE's controls are better suited for survival-horror..not action.

Remember..there are lots of games out there with a lot of sex/gore appeal but that doesn't make them all good. Some such as Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, BMX XXX, Resident Evil, or Mortal Kombat:Deadly Alliance (trust me, it will sincerely be a good game) will be good but others such as BloodRayne are just trash.

THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!

This Game ROCKS!! I bought this game for two reasons: I like hack-em-up's, and I like women. THis game has amazing graphics, for example, some blood splatters out of a victim's neck after a "snack", and will stay in puddles on the ground. Another example of graphic supieriority is the characters. ALL of the creatures are the breast, i mean best i have ever seen. The best-done character in the game is of course, Rayne. You will see hair flowing, muscles moving in a realistic fashion, and all the feminine features are great. And the graphic function that will help the most is the different vision types. You have normal; Aura vision (shows the life force of the enemies); "Matrix" Vision, which slows everything down to pull some cool moves off; and finally binocular vision, for use with rifle to do sniper shots. The sounds is outstanding. You can just be standing there, you can here the sounds of nature, the wind, victims' footsteps, and Nazis yelling at you to do something (I don't know, i don't speak German). The controls are typical and easy to understand. One button shoots, one for jump, one for blades, one for Blood Rage (All your normal stuff at twice the speed for matrix type moves), and one for picking different gun types. If you love bloody games, go drop X dollars for this game. You won't regret it. Take it from me, a 17 y.o. with 16 years gaming experience, who has played almost any type of game made.

One of the most fun games I've played in a while!

Yeah, this game is a guilty pleasure. Tons of action, sex appeal, lots of gore. So whats wrong with that? Nothing, if you're in the mood for it, and this game delivers. Look, this game rocks like no other for the Gamecube and the only reason I can see not checking it out is if you can't handle the blood and language. Otherwise, get ready for a non stop slaughter fest using tons of weapons, tight controls set in a B-horror movie type setting. So the story is kind of weak, trust me, you won't care, you'll be to busy chopping up mutated creatures and Nazi's. Anyway, check it out and have some fun! Thats what these games are for!

Nazis, Blood, and Cleavage

Hard to see what the excitement is about. The graphics are nothing special. The game is rather shallow -- kill people and suck the blood from their jugular vein. Killing Nazis is always a plus, though.

The controls are rather easy to pick up. You can use a variety of different views, such as aura view (looks similar to infrared), dilated perception (slow motion), and extended vision (zoom). Not much skill involved with the combat; it is more or less hack and slash.

The theme of the game is raw violence combined with sensuality. I'm sure this alone is what is drawing most of the positive remarks.

Bloodrayne- Best action game on GC

Bloodrayne follows the same path as most superviolent action games, but it adds a layer of depth by giving many options like using blades or guns, choosing different views. Go stealthy or run in shooting. There are 100's of different combonations to kill bosses and just plain old grunts. Suck blood, knife them, shooting.
