I think that this is a very good game but a little bit like bombermen tournament.

Old School Style, Yet Fun & Refreshing

Having played many of the various Bomberman games over the years including Bomberman Tournament on GBA, I was looking for something similar to the B-man gameplay but slightly different. The closest I could find was Planet Monsters. So I decided to pick it up and give it a try, and found it to be fast paced, fun & very addictive. But it's the simplistic gameplay that makes this game. Its so easy to learn you won't even need to read the manual. You run your monster(who often reminds me of Stimpy from the old Ren & Stimpy cartoons) through maze's pushing blocks into enimes trying to knock out the three other computer controlled (or Human w/link cable & additional PM carts)oponents before they knock you out. Besides the 3 opponents(Whom also look like differnt colored Stimpy's), there are lots of other creatures also trying to stop you, as each maze has several "monster generators" popping out more creatures every few seconds, so the longer it takes you to beat a level, the more monsters you'll have to contend with! Plus there are tons of power up items, such as springs that allow you to jump over blocks, bubble guns that temporaraly trap your opponents or turns enemy creatures into blocks, bombs, extra lives & more. There are 8 worlds to challenge you, each with 4 levels and a boss level for a total of 40 areas to defeat. Four levels of difficulty make this game challenging for most everyone. The graphics, although a bit cartoonish, are very colorful and well animated. The various enemies are often huge & hilarious, and the music is lighthearted & pleasant. Would have gave Planet Monsters a 5 star rating except for the fact that it's nothing really new, but is is a very enjoyable game in it's own way, a bit repetitive at times, but it never stops being fun. To those who love Bomberman or similar action puzzle games, I recommend giving Planet Monsters a try.

I am an adult who enjoys puzzle games and I really liked this one. The planet has been taken over by monsters and you must "fight" them to see who is the best. You must work your way through a maze of blocks and eliminate 3 monsters. There are 8 worlds with 5 levels each and a boss at the end of each. You can use the A button to push blocks and squash the enemy, or you can pick up special items such as a bubble gun to freeze them, a clock to stop all of them for a few seconds (both of these make them easier to squash) or a bomb to blast them. The enemies can also pick up these items, so get them first! Aside from the 3 you must eliminate, there are others who will harm you, and when you kill them, they will leave a reward to pick up for points, however, they will regenerate. There is a radar screen in the bottom corner which is very helpful when trying to locate the 3 enemies. You accumulate points by eliminating any monster and for the time you have left when all 3 are defeated. You can earn extra lives by getting points, or collecting all of the letters of the words MONSTERS and/or EXTRA. There is a password for each world, but beware, when you use the password, you start at the beginning of the world with zero points and only 4 lives. I think the graphics are great. The monsters are different on each level and the mazes contain unique obstacles. The bosses are a challange, but not impossible to defeat. The levels of difficulty merely increase the speed - whoa it gets fast. I felt this game was well worth the money.

Sometimes, "Bad is Bad"

Awkward and dumb only begin to describe this stinker of a game. According to this game, you're a monster who travels from world to world, fighting other monsters in tournament battles, in which you can kick blocks and use bubble guns to eliminate your opponents. Having fun yet? With pitiful graphics, good play control, dreadful music, and the most ill thought out game design since...I can't even remember when, this game should be played only by the simple minded. I can't help but feel my brain shut down while playing this game, but hey, maybe you'll enjoy it.

It's a knockoff of Bomberman

Hey! Somebody replaced the mad bombers in my Bomberman game with Muppets! Actually the game in question (and beileve me, it will raise a few) is Planet Monsters, a multiplayer maze game that happens to look and play a lot like Bomberman. Instesd of dropping bombs, players kick the blocks that comprise the games mazes at one another. To spice things up, the developers also tossed in power-ups, boss characters, and non-player mutants that kill you with just a touch (not fair is it?). Nonetheless, the game reamins a simple Bomberman knockoff which would be fine if the GBA didn't already have a Bomberman game.
