Let's hope for a better casino game for GBA.

I had been waiting for this game to come out, hoping for a good casino game for my GBA. I was very disappointed with this title. The slot machine games have dark, blurry and hard to see graphics and it's very hard to win anything. The video poker is badly designed in that you have to press so many buttons just to play one hand and when you do win, you have to wait for the screen to scroll down to the paytable and then up to the credits and finally back down to the playable poker game. The programmers didn't provide for the player to hit a button to skip this scrolling, which makes for very slow game play. The video keno is nothing like a real video keno machine and you have to keep the instruction manual out to figure out how to play. The only game that is well designed and somewhat fun to play is blackjack. If you're looking for a casino game for your Game Boy Advance, try to track down the "Hoyle Casino" game that was made for the Game Boy Color. Overall that title is better & more fun to play than "Caesar's Palace" and can still ... .... To summarize: don't bother with this one.

Non gambler programmed this, or really bad testing.....

I enjoy gambling and work in the computer games industry. I'm primarily a blackjack player, but also like slots and roulette. So, when I heard that I'll be able to play these games on my GBA with this title, I went out and picked it up.

Well, I was initially very impressed with the look of the game. Simple and fairly easy to understand. There are smallish graphics that are a bit hard to discern, but overall, not bad.

The problems came up in gameplay. The slots games (there are 3) NEVER PAY OUT. OK...there's no real money to win or lose here, so why not make it a little looser. Nope, if Vegas slots were this tight - you'd sue them for cheating. The blackjack game is quirky too. Ever so often, you'll be dealt a blackjack and the dealer will show an ace (at which point you're supposed to be offered to take "even money") well, it doesn't give you that option. Inevitably, he also has a blackjack and you wind up "pushing". Also, I don't think I've EVER gotten a face card or a ten after doubling down (even on an 11). The video poker game of deuces wild also has an odd problem. Several times, I've held a non winning hand and drew a few cards in hopes of building a winning hand....I'm dealt a deuce (wild card) and other cards which actually gives me the winning hand I need (completes my 3 of a kind or straight...), but it doesn't pay out or acknowledge my win. I'm a bit dissappointed in these gameplay problems and are glad its not for real money....except the $ I dropped for it.

don't buy for the slots

i really like slots (in real life) and was hoping for something like the Hoyle Casino game I have on the dreamcast or the computer. These slots are not very realistic. They aren't even like other video game slots. You can win, you just have to bet a lot, like $100 machines, 3 coins.... (and its not real money, so who cares?). I do like the roulette and the blackjack though. Its not a total loss.

Average Gambling Game

This game features blackjack, video poker, video keno, roulette, craps, and slots. It gives a good simulation of each of these games. I was a little disappointed that more games like paigow poker, baccarat, 5 or 7 card stud, big 6 wheel, etc. were not in this game. A lot of reviews I've read for this game claim that you can play video horse racing. This is the main reason I bought this game, but it's not an option. I emailed majesco and they replied that these reviews that list video horse racing were done when the game was in the development stage and video horse racing was pulled before the game was finalized. Aside from this disappointment for me, the games you can play are very good and realistic. There's 4 variations of video keno, video poker, and 3 variations of slots. There isn't much depth in the cartridge, just select the game you want and play. It would be nice to unlock other games video horse racing, paigow poker) if you won an X amount of money so you'd have something to play for. To continue your progress after you turn the game off, you receive a 10 character password, which some letters like b and h, and hard to tell the difference. A battery backup would have been better. If you love to gamble, pick this game up, otherwise it's not worth it.

VERY-VERY Nice game!!

This is a fun casino game. It doesn't come with horse racing, as someone else already mentioned. Craps, Blackjack, and Roulette: These are the "table" games on the cartridge. I don't think these games could be any better for a portable. The graphics are pretty nice, betting is easy, and the game moves along at a nice pace. Poker and Keno: These are video games, and play fairly similar to what you find in a casino. They are a little slow, because when you win, they scroll up, and down to show you the payouts and what combination you hit. Gets a little old after a while, but you get used to it. Slots: 3 bizarre slot machines. It would have been more fun if they had gotten permission to copy double diamonds, or ballon bars from IGT or some other slot manuf. I don't like slots in a casino, so I rarely play these. They do work, and payout from time to time. Overall, I'd say this is one of the better games for the GBA.

I like to gamble.

I enjoy playing blackjack and other casino games, but this game is just plain awful. Please don't buy it for anyone.

I tried this game, and it makes the Game Gear Version look a whole lot better. In the GG version, you actually walk around the casino to the different games. You go to the ATM for money. and there is Video Horse Racing. I am glad i picked up the GG version at [the store] than wasting my money on the GBA version.

Enjoyable Game

I just got this game to take on a long car ride with me, and it's great. It's just like playing in the real casinos, i don't know how you could have a bad review. I guess just maybe expecting they are expecting too much out of a very cheap game...

Boring

Games are well put together, graphics good. No complexity or motivation in game at all. No high roller level, no competition or real excitement at all. I thought that was what gambling was all about.
