Nintendo never ceases to amaze me

Ok, the title says it all. You'll also have to excuse me because I have no idea where to begin with this review and I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor. :)

I got a chance to play Super Mario Advance on the GameBoy Advance(GBA) and I was very impressed with the graphic quality on this system. It's like an Enhanced Pocket Super NES. The design of the GBA is pretty sleek and all of the buttons on it are with easy reach (including the L and R buttons at the top), it fits perfectly in your hand. And the screen is a bit bigger too, a little dark but that's ok. What's also neat about the GBA, is the fact that you can play your older games from GameBoy on it, something for current Gameboy owners to consider if they're wondering whether or not they should buy the GBA. I am definitely getting this pocket gaming system. There's no doubt about it.

On a side note: I've read a review for the GBA where it stated how the Neo Geo Pocket(NGP) is superior to the GBA. I'm completely baffled as to how that's possible. It doesn't make sense at all. For one thing, I own a NGP from a year back, and from what I've seen from the performance between the two gaming systems, the performance and graphic quality of the NGP is NOWHERE NEAR the high performance of the GBA. Don't get me wrong, the NGP is nice, unfortunately the titles for the NGP are few (I'm not sure if anyone is making games for it anymore) and the quality of some of the games for NGP leaves something to be desired.

You won't regret buying a Gameboy Advance. I know I won't. And I'm keenly interested in seeing how this system will work with the Nintendo GameCube, which is slated for an early November release.

Everything about Gameboy Advance is great. Mario Advance is a nice version of the NES classic and the old arcade hit. Irodin 3D is a nice shooting game as well. The main reason I am writing this review is really just to comment (and to warn all would be Neo Geo Pocket Color buyers) on the past review saying that GBA is bad and Neo Geo Pocket is so great. Yeah, a system that has pratically nothing but fighting games is a great system. Not one racing game, no sports games but Baseball Stars and Tennis. Sonic was the only decent game for that system. Oh and Neo Geo Pocket Color is also great considering SNK (the makers of the system) stopped doing business in the US since last summer and recalled all Neo Geo systems and games that weren't yet sold. Basically, if you buy a Neo Geo Pocket Color you will get a few games with no more coming out for it. And also 80,000 people in the US bought one versus the 110+ million sales of the Gameboy worldwide. What company would you trust? Get the GBA, you won't be disappointed.

I think it is ridiculious that someone is throwing up 1 stars on all of the Game Boy Advance just so that he can mention how much he enjoys his Neo Geo. Whatever.

Anyways, playing the GBA at E3 was incredible. Even though the Mario game is the same as Mario2 on the NES, it was still surprising to see how beautiful the graphics were and how smoothly the games ran on the system.

Go check out demos they run over at Toys R Us or Best Bet and judge for your self

If you believed that B.S. that the guy just said about GBA (Game Boy Advance) and said Neo Geo Pocket is better and to get that. Have fun looking for it. IT FAILED IN AMERICA, it only had about 15 english games for it but oh I forgot it is so much better. Shut up the GBA will have more games on launch than NGPC ever had plus you have two extra buttons on gba and looks a lot better graphic wise and the way it looks so go GBA if you want a handheld that will be on the market for quite a while go GBA because NGPC isn't even out in america any more.

The best thing yet!

This is the best thing that could ever possibly happen to nintendo! I love the game boy, and now it's got an upgrade! 32 bits is the path down which no hand held game system has gone before...

Firstly, the system rocks. I received my GBA on Friday the 15th and haven't put it down since! The only reason I didn't give the system 5 stars is that with the PowerPak on, you can't use the holster. Would have been nice if the holster/pack they include would fit the aftermarket power unit.

To all those denying NeoGeo Pocket Color it's dues!

I WOULD NOT DENY FREEDOM OF SPEECH OPINIONS OR COMMENTS! AND IF YOU'RE SO SURE ABOUT THE GAME BOY ADVANCE YOU WOULDN'T BE INTIMIDATED BY OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS. IT SHOWS A SIGN OF INSECURITY!

Neo Geo Pocket Color is my favorite portable system even with Game Boy Advance's U.S. launch vastly approaching not just because it's three times as powerful as Game Boy Color, but because of what it stands for. Neo Geo Pocket Color was the first REAL next generation console and while Game Boy Advance is quite a bit more powerful than Neo Geo Pocket Color, SNK really tried to deliver a great product. They had 10 percent of the amount of money Nintendo had, yet Nintendo kept selling practically the same lousy crap they've been selling for over 10 years to the kids that didn't know any better. So please dare to be different and give Neo Geo Pocket Color a shot you won't be disappointed like you probability will be with a Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance.

P.S. Wonderswan Color tries to be a good system but there's not many good games for it.

Nintendo GBA is a modern Marvel; it not only plays the latest games but also all older compatible GameBoy ones! The GBA games have vastly improved since the last generation of GameBoy, both in speed, game memory and graphics - it truly makes this machine a portable entertainment system for all ages and not just younger kids as was the case with GameBoy. Some people like to compare the machine to an older SNES, but I would rather compare the machine to above that of a PlayStation - we have only just seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to games on this machine. When we compare and add up the entire year worth of trips to the cinema, then this is truly low cost entertainment.
