Not even fun

This game isn't fun at all. You may have 5 sifferent games in the carrtilage but it is dumb. You play the same things over and over. All it does is get faster. I suggest you save your money. But it would be good for kids under 8 years old. I suggest that you buy Super Mario Deluxe, now that's fun.

More like FIFTEEN games in one!

I bought this game without having seen/read any reviews and I have to say that I enjoy it greatly. It has quickly become one of my favorite games.

Game & Watch Gallery 3 is described as 5 games in one, but it is really more like fifteen. The first five games are: Egg, Greenhouse, Turtle Bridge, Mario Bros., and Donkey Kong Jr. Each of these games was originally available as an LCD Game & Watch title (the handheld game also served as a timepiece, hence the name). Each game has a classic (the original LCD game) and modern (updated with flagship Nintendo characters) mode, and they are different enough for me to consider them to be separate games. For instance, in the classic version of Egg, you control a wolf trying to catch eggs as they roll down ramps. In the modern version of Egg, you control Yoshi and use your tongue to swipe cookies as they roll down ramps, at the same time making sure not to eat any Bob-ombs. While the basic concept is the same, I consider this to be two games. Each game has two difficulty settings, and the modern games have a third extra-hard setting when you have earned more than 1000 points on a game.

An interesting aspect of this cartridge is the rewards system. While playing the games, you collect stars. One star is earned for every 200 points you get in a game. The stars open up new options in the Gallery part of the game, accessible at the main menu. In the Gallery, you can play with music, get tips on the games, visit a museum to view information on classic Nintendo games (you can see more stuff if you link with other Game & Watch titles), and view other secrets. After you earn 50 stars, you are able to view a cute little animation. While I am no where near having all of the stars, I believe there is a total of 120.

I said that I consider this cartridge to be fifteen games in one and the rewards system is where the extra five games come from. As you earn certain numbers of stars (I'm not sure of the exact numbers), you are able to play extra games. The extra five games are Judge (also a 2P game if someone else has Game & Watch Gallery 3), Flagman, Lion, Spitball Sparky, and Donkey Kong II. These games do not have a modern mode.

The best feature of this cartridge is the ability to pause a game you are playing and then turn the Game Boy off. When you turn it on again, your game will still be at the place where you paused.

Overall, Game & Watch Gallery 3 is an excellent game. While it is true that it can get boring if you play it long enough, it is still fun enough to come back to later. With the variety of games on the cartridge, it is an excellent travel game for long roadtrips/flights. Definitely a five star game.

This fun game is really great! There are five games, each with classic (old arcade) and modern (new video game character examples: Yoshi, Mario, Donkey Kong) each with easy and hard mode, and getting 1,000 points on easy modern will get you to very hard. You can listen to music, go to tips and rules, find out a secret and play it, or even earn five classic easy and hard games! You can look at museum titles, and this game is even better if you own one or two. It's very colorful, and when you get 50 stars, you see a very cute, rewarding animation. These games are good for many situations, like taking turns and traveling. This game's in brilliant color. There's a bonus to most games for experts. There's so much to do, it just won't stop entertaining you! Try Game Gallery 1 and 2 if you liked this, or maybe even 4, if they make one. I sure hope that they do!

Nostalgic, entertaining, crisp graphics. I took a gamble buying this game without a review and thought it was worth the price. It has lots of replay value and easy, yet challenging at higher levels. Varied gameplay. Rewards kept you coming back.

This game rocks! It is one of the most fun games I have ever played. It has 5 fun games to play. The Mario brothers game is REALLY HARD. I cannot play it at all. You can choose if you want to play each game in the classic mode (which is dull)or the new kind. (which is fun) You might enjoy Gallery 2 also. I enjoyed both of them and you probably will too.

I bought this for my young son (age four). The controls are easy and the pictures easy to see. The games are fun and easy to learn. He has had very little problems with this game. I have enjoyed playing on it as well.

Enjoy.
Worth the money.

THE GREATEST GAME

As i told you on my review for game and watch 4, i own this game. For my opinion this game should be the last game you buy in a while. There are about 10 new games in this game. You have to get a 1,000 points like the previous games. This time the gallery has more games to see than the 2 previous. In the classic games there are Judge, Lion, Spinball Sparky,Donkey kong 2,and Flagman. In flagman you don't have to get 1,000 points in it. Just read the booklet and see what it says about the game. But,even though this game is also the second best game like Warioland3. So if i was you i would buy this game as the next game to buy if you don't have it. BUY IT!!!!!!!!

When I first got this game, I thought it was kind of cool, but then a week later, it got really boring. It sounds like its really fun, 5 games in 1, but it just keeps having you repeat the levels. You get hidden games but those are dull from first sight. The bottom line is:it gets dull.

First of all, I do agree that sometimes this does get dull. But great game play blocks out that so I can give it a good review. Control is great, and I really enjoy every game. The graphics are great in Modern mode. Someday I'd like to link with someone. All the good galleries and all the other secrets I can unlock in Gallery Corner pushes me on, giving me hope to open these things up. I've owned this game for almost a year, and I'm still enjoying it. It's my favorite of all of my games.

Okay, But Not My Style

While I thought I would never play this game, I decided to give it a shot. I prefer Pirates of the Caribbean, American Idol, and Donkey Kong Country over this one, but some of the games are better than I thought. Game & Watch Gallery 3 consists of five mini-games: Egg, Greenhouse, Turtle Bridge, Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong Jr. Each game has about four possible combinations: Classic, Modern (if you consider 1984 modern), Easy and Hard. Egg is simply where you hold a basket out and either catch eggs or try to eat cookies before the cookies turn black or the eggs splatter on the ground.
Greenhouse is a game where you have to shoot melon seeds up a pipe and stop this little white creature from stepping on this landing pad/matt-like object in the modern version, while in the classic version you have to emit a power-like zapping force to ward off spiders befroe they get to you and your greenhouse. Turtle Bridge is one of the more fun games where you have to hop from block to block in the modern version and turtle to turtle in the classic version while trying to make it back and forth delivering packages from one island to another. Be careful because the blocks or turtles will "accidentally" slip into the sea or lose balance, so try to be as fast as you can. Mario Bros. is probably the most fun, enjoyable game in that Mario and Luigi are both loading up boxes on a truck and they have to work together at passing the boxes from side to side on a conveyor belt before Luigi finally loads it up onto a truck. This game can be tricky as well, for the better you are, the more faster the boxes will come down, which means you'll be constantly having to go from level to level to make sure each box gets passed on to a higher belt while keeping track of Mario and Luigi in synchronization as well!
Last but not least, there's Donkey Kong VERY Jr., a much more simplified version of DK that has the same concept: climb vines and avoid enemies while trying to get the key to unlock that door. All in all, I'm not crazy about this particular game, but two types of people will love it. (1) The really silly Game Boy loving kid that prefers arcade-style games on his GB and will buy any fun game at a bargain or (2) the kid at heart who absolutely loves CLASSIC arcade games and views them as a collector's item without completely shunning the "modern" versions either. If you classify yourself as either one of these people, then why in the world are you reading my review!!!!???? Hurry!
