The best fighter for Sega's short lived Genesis add-on

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 1

Sega's other failed Genesis add-on (the Sega CD outlasted it), the 32X didn't have much in terms of third party support (other than Acclaim, who also published this), let alone solid fighters. Besides a port of Sega's own Virtua Fighter, this port of Mortal Kombat II is the best fighter ever made for the 32X. Compared to the Genesis version, the picture has been cleaned up, the characters are larger, and the sound is noticibly better as well. All that being said, this ended up being the best installment in the 2-D Mortal Kombat series, but be forewarned that this is not an arcade perfect port. The Sega Saturn version of the game, released only a few years later, is an arcade perfect port that took advantage of the Saturn's 2-D processing power. That being said, if you still own a 32X and want the best games available for it (and believe me, there are few), Mortal Kombat II is the best fighting game you'll find for it.
