Just thought I would let folks know that now (as of this date) this game is available at MacPlay for $1.88. But be aware of the high shipping cost.

Unplayable on Panther, Indeed!

This game has been out far too long for there to be any excuse for its current state. When you attempt to play this game in 10.3, as soon as a level loads, all the sounds for that level begin playing simultaneously.

It's completely disorienting and makes the game impossible to play. Macplay is aware of this issue and is apparently either unwilling or unable to do anything about it.

If you're running 10.2, you'll probably enjoy this game. If you have 10.3 or are planning to upgrade, stay away. It doesn't work.

Anxiously awaiting a patch but losing faith that there will ever be one.

Be sure to check MacPlay's website for updates BEFORE buying this game. I bought it at the same time as Panther, only to discover that it doesn't work with OS 10.3. MacPlay has not given a timeline for fixing this problem.

Update: 10.3.3 did NOT fix the problem. Still no timeline for a fix.

Update: it works now with Panther. Not as good as the original, but still pretty fun.

Supposedly this is a good game, but until MacPlay updates it to work with both Quicktime 6.5 and Mac OSX 10.3 it is a waste of money.

This game is incredibly cool, and works fine for me under Panther. The graphics are unreal, and the realism of the game is astounding! You do have to turn shadows off completely in the Siberian chapters, or it will crash, though. I had to call MacPlay to find out why it was crashing in that chapter. Also, sometimes bad guys get stuck in doorways and can't move anywhere, which is why I've given an overall rating of 4. But it's 100% fun, and I highly recommend it!!!

no way to rate the number of stars properly. ive got an emac which exceeds all the systems requirements, and this game installed well. however it absolutely refused to launch. i called macplay, and they said a patch is being developed. this looks like a good game, but better wait to buy until the bugs are worked out.

4/12 still no patch for panther, and the patch for 10.2 didnt work. gave up waiting and bought the windows version (cheap) for my game box (cheap,cheap,cheap). five stars for the game, zero stars for the mac version, my latest coaster. nolf 2 is very much like nolf; the graphics are slightly better in 2, but the level design and variety in 1 is better. in #2, you can alter the abilities of your character with skill points gathered by progression through the game. killing volkov in game 2 was surprisingly easy;, he just sat there while i blasted him. the last level, khios, was also fairly easy, but the atmosphere and the pictures of the aegean island were beautiful. definitely recommended in the windows version.

5/5 for panther, there is now a download of a quicktime update that makes this work perfectly (ive only done the first three levels, but voice synchronization is right on). now id give this the same rating as windows. go to macplay and apple for details.

I played it on Mac OS 10.4.8 just by loading it twice! And it was fun!

A couple times I had to turn the music off, but otherwise it played just fine and I am so glad I tried reloading it. I hope they come out with the thrid installment of this series soon!! It is big fun!

I have loved and played this game for years. It's a wonderful, thoroughly enjoyable genre shooter that can't fail to please.

Controls, graphics, ambience, story, humor...all top notch. The first game is good, solid fun. This is far, far moreso.

The best part? You can play through it any number of ways. Sneak n' stealth, blaze of glory, trap and run...all viable on nearly every level.

Do yourself a favor and get this game.
