Decent port of the TV show

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 1 / 2

For several decades now, Jeopardy has been one of the most popular quiz shows on TV. It's only natural that many video games have been released for it. These date back to the NES! Read on for this - A review of one of the NES games.

THE GOOD:
It's a version of Jeopardy you can play in your own home! To top it off, you can have up to three players (you don't need a multiplayer adaptor), and if you can't find someone to play with, you can play with yourself or with the computer.

THE BAD:

A number of flaws plague this otherwise good game. Read on for a list of them.
-0 and O aren't interchangable when answering questions.
-Some misspellings are accepted, while some are not.
-The answers the game doesn't take are questionable. For example, it won't take "The Great War" for "World War I", it won't take "preservation" for "preserving food", it won't take "Navajo" for "Navajos", etc. This isn't a huge flaw, but it's a pain.
-Many questions repeat very often. This is a problem for people who plan to play the game a lot.
-Categories too similar to one another often show up in the same round. I've gotten "The 1950's" and "1956" in the same round!
-There's no NES keyboard, so you have to use a cursor to type all your answers.

OVERALL:
If you must get a version of Jeopardy for your home, get a computer version so you can type your answers. Also, the computer ones tend to have more questions and be less repetitive. But if you've got no computer and just an NES (as unlikely as that may be), this is for you.
