I BOUGHT THIS TITLE BECAUSE OF THE GAMES I REMEMBER AS A KID AND THOUGHT I WOULD ENJOY THEM NOW AS AN ADULT GAMER, BUT THAT IS NOT TRUE.FROM THE WAY THE NINTENDO CONTROLLED THEM AND HOW THAT IS DONE IS A BIT DUMBED DOWN. YOU DONT HAVE TO WORK HARD TO GET MORE LIVES OR SAVE POINTS YOU CAN DIE RUN OUT OF MEN AND NOT HAVE TO START FRESH FROM THE BEGINING YOU JUST RESTART FROM THE POINT OF DEMISE, AND SINCE I AM PLAYING ON A PS3 IT IS REALLY SMARTER THAN THE GAMES. KEEP THE MEMORIES OF WHEN YOU PLAYED IN YOUR YOUTH BECAUSE ITS NOT THE SAME EXPERIANCE NOW...

old school is here, but...............

Ho-Hum, I enjoyed vol.1 more. I just wanted this one for the 1st STREET FIGHTER. Even though it's fairly pathetic in terms of graphics & gameplay compared to any of the SF2 series. I just don't understand why capcom didn't just put SF1 in SF: Anniversary collection as an unlockable. But anyway all the other games were pretty good to see and play again, at least there's a lot of 'em and thats always a good thing.

Black Tiger,Strider and 18 more Capcom classics on one disc!!! Wow!!!

Virtually a 20 game arcade on one small disc for enjoyment on the PS2 or 3!!! Being a Black Tiger fan I was in video game heaven when this game was released!!! Heck, I bought a PS2 and a PSP also, just to play Black Tiger again, and you can even pick the number of lives and difficulty, just try doing that on the arcade original, well you can't!!! A boatload of positive memories!!! the other 19 games are a hoot as well,Strider,Captain Commando,Block Block(it's sort of like Super Breakout or Arkanoid, and is just as fun!),Magic Sword,King Of Dragons(my nephew Trey's favorite, but he likes Black Tiger as well!),Knights of The Round,Quiz and Dragons(you need your thinking cap for this one!),Three Wonders and many more!!! An awesome bargain for the money!!!Two Thumbs Up,Way Up!!! Five stars!!! A+

Awesome Game!!!

This game has pretty good graphics and over 20 different games on it. A lot of the games on it are medieval and are a lot alike but they are fun. There are also fighting games on this too that are fun. My favorite games on this are, Street Fighter, Street Fighter 2 turbo fighting, Captain Commando, Knights of the Round, King of Dragons and Three Wonders. Block Block is kind of stupid and I don't know if it is black tiger or tiger road but that game is lame and hard. I wish that there were interviews or clips on here like other compilations/arcade games had. If you are looking for other compilation/arcade games look for my reviews on... Taito Legends 1, Midway Arcade Treasures 1-3, Intellivision Lives, and Atari Anthology. Reviews Coming soon... Namco Museum 50th anniversary, Capcom Classics Collection Volume 1, Taito Legends 2 and Sega Classics Collection and/or Sega Genesis Collection.

A great buy, even if your not a fan of arcade games!

All things considered, Capcom Classics Collection vol. 2 is an awesome collection of games and a solid buy. You get 20 exciting old-school arcade games on 1 disk for about 1 dollar apiece! (And this is coming from a guy who's never been much of an arcade fan) I've been playing video games since 1992 when I first got an NES for Christmas, and I've been a loyal fan of console games ever since. I was never really into arcade games... Infact, the only reason why I bought this game in the first place was because it had "Street Fighter" & "Super Street Fighter II: Turbo" on it. But after playing it, I must say that arcade games are exciting & addictively fun!
Even if you're not a fan of arcade games, you should definately check this one out. It made a fan out of me, and it'll make a fan out of you too!

A warning to all people who are only buying this game for the "Street Fighter" games included on this disk: SAVE YOUR MONEY!
Although this game does include 2 Street Fighter games and is much cheaper than buying one of the Street Fighter Collection games, out of all the games on this disk, the Street Fighter games are definately the weaker ones. "Street Fighter" is a fun game, but it's very dificult, and you'll get really sick of hearing the annoying single charecter voice after just afew tries. As for "Super Street Fighter II: Turbo" it's even worse! Capcom made the difficulty on this game WAY too hard! Even when it's set on "Easiest" it's still almost impossible to even make it past your first challenger!!! I've played many Street Fighter games, and none of them have ever been this mutantly hard! (Maybe it's because it was an arcade version and they wanted you to dump alot of quarters into playing it?) Just invest the extra 10 dollars in the much better "Street Fighter Alpha Anthology" & "Street Fighter Anniversary Collection" games.

Black Tiger & Other Games from the Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2

My Daughter & I bought the Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2 because I wanted the Black Tiger game that I use to play during lunch at the local arcade in the Ohio Center in the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, OH when it first came out back in the 80's!

I could only find this game in the Ohio Center and I found one in an arcade on the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas near the Marriott Hotel.

The Ohio Center arcade removed the game because when a few of my friends became so good at Black Tiger that they could play for 1 quarter for 1.5 hours to win the game (which made it unprofitable for the arcade owner)! I and my friends were at the Ohio Center arcade when the arcade manager was removing the Black Tiger game from the arcade! The manager reported that Black Tiger was "most unprofitable game that he had ever had... even though it was the Most Profitable game in the beginning!"

One of my friends, Bob (who is Very Good with Computers and played Black Tiger Very Well), knew how sad and displeased I was when the game was removed that he remarked "in about 20 years you will probably be able to play Black Tiger at home on your TV! Bob was right!

I was Very Surprised and Very Happy : ) to find this game at Amazon.com and that a group of people in this world were intelligent enough to remember it so that I could order this game and share it with my 4 kids and their friends! Also, that we could play Black Tiger (and the other games) at our own learning level and pace!

My kids and their friends also find Black Tiger Very Challenging and like it Very Much! They also like the other games Very Much as well!

However, I will remain focused on Black Tiger until I can win the game by sluing all the dragons and be the Hero to rescue the princess and conquering all evil and restoring the Happy Glorious Kingdom!

Thank You Everybody for Your Fine Efforts who made this Possible!!! It is important to retain historic games for future generations so that they can understand more fully(i.e., or 3D) how the games, graphics, plots, and the technologies have developed and progressed to arrive to current and future games as well as to educate and entertain all of us (and future generations) in the future!!!

This is a great collection of games to have in your library. The main reason to buy this is for SF2 Turbo, of course. However, there are several other titles on this disc that are worth playing. I recall playing 1941, Black Tiger, Captain Commando, and King of Dragons. Most of these games are multiplayer.
Therefore, this title is great for kids that would enjoy games that don't require a lot of hardcore skills. In Addition, these games are great when you don't have an hour plus to dedicate to a game. Or, you could buy this title to reminisce the 'golden age' of arcade gaming.

Street FIghter 2 Turbo alone makes this purchase well worth it

There has never been an arcade perfect port of any Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo edition on a console until now, most hardcore players have been waiting over 10 years for this. The sounds and music may have some defects, but the gameplay is indeed truly arcade perfect and a must have for ST players. Aside from that, there is a decent quiz game Quiz and Dragons, I heard it was updated with new questions by Sirlin. Overall, its a great value considering that you get many games for a low price.

Unlike Capcom's Vol. 1 edition jam-packed with popular nostalgic arcades of the early 90's era, Vol. 2 comes across as a bland collection. Skim through the manual at list of classics, only a seldom few will seem recognizable.

That idea may suck how many those are supposed to be classic are unknown. The good part is most of these games you never even played yet even heard of are actually quite fun. There are twenty unique 90's era games off the title menu to choose from. Anybody can ease right into any game because the interface is intuitive enough for your grandmother to play without needing advice. One critical downside, the playstation 2 controller can be a strain on the hands when attempting to get accurate movement of your game character.

More important you may be surprised by the longevity with some of these classics as hours run off your day. Therefore, this collection will take its toll on your fingers as well.

There are some very cool features in this collection and one worth noting is infinite game play. That bonus allows unskilled gamers or those who rather burn through levels to join right in the explosive 2D action. The unveiled, refined graphics shine, but as for the music don't expect an update because Capcom kept the original sound intact and that's good news for retro fans that may remember what they played in the past decade.

I have been playing video games since the atari 2600. Games have come such a long way but never forget the origin. These games bring back a lot of great memories. I know everyone love the first person shooters but I love the classic 2d games like these.
