I BOUGHT THIS TITLE BECAUSE OF THE GAMES I REMEMBER AS A KID AND THOUGHT I WOULD ENJOY THEM NOW AS AN ADULT GAMER, BUT THAT IS NOT TRUE.FROM THE WAY THE NINTENDO CONTROLLED THEM AND HOW THAT IS DONE IS A BIT DUMBED DOWN. YOU DONT HAVE TO WORK HARD TO GET MORE LIVES OR SAVE POINTS YOU CAN DIE RUN OUT OF MEN AND NOT HAVE TO START FRESH FROM THE BEGINING YOU JUST RESTART FROM THE POINT OF DEMISE, AND SINCE I AM PLAYING ON A PS3 IT IS REALLY SMARTER THAN THE GAMES. KEEP THE MEMORIES OF WHEN YOU PLAYED IN YOUR YOUTH BECAUSE ITS NOT THE SAME EXPERIANCE NOW...

Why not include super street fighter 2 the new challengers?

I am waiting for the pal version in February.Although I am happy to hear super street fighter 2 turbo is difficult I am disappointed super street fighter 2 the new challengers is not included unless of course it is an unlockable feature. This means street fighter fans like myself will have to continue waiting until their PS2 street fighter 2 collection is fully complete.Street fighter 1 is inferior to super street fighter 2 the new challengers. When and if Capcom release this game for PS2 I want it to be arcade perfect like the others and of comparable difficulty.

A great buy, even if your not a fan of arcade games!

All things considered, Capcom Classics Collection vol. 2 is an awesome collection of games and a solid buy. You get 20 exciting old-school arcade games on 1 disk for about 1 dollar apiece! (And this is coming from a guy who's never been much of an arcade fan) I've been playing video games since 1992 when I first got an NES for Christmas, and I've been a loyal fan of console games ever since. I was never really into arcade games... Infact, the only reason why I bought this game in the first place was because it had "Street Fighter" & "Super Street Fighter II: Turbo" on it. But after playing it, I must say that arcade games are exciting & addictively fun!
Even if you're not a fan of arcade games, you should definately check this one out. It made a fan out of me, and it'll make a fan out of you too!

A warning to all people who are only buying this game for the "Street Fighter" games included on this disk: SAVE YOUR MONEY!
Although this game does include 2 Street Fighter games and is much cheaper than buying one of the Street Fighter Collection games, out of all the games on this disk, the Street Fighter games are definately the weaker ones. "Street Fighter" is a fun game, but it's very dificult, and you'll get really sick of hearing the annoying single charecter voice after just afew tries. As for "Super Street Fighter II: Turbo" it's even worse! Capcom made the difficulty on this game WAY too hard! Even when it's set on "Easiest" it's still almost impossible to even make it past your first challenger!!! I've played many Street Fighter games, and none of them have ever been this mutantly hard! (Maybe it's because it was an arcade version and they wanted you to dump alot of quarters into playing it?) Just invest the extra 10 dollars in the much better "Street Fighter Alpha Anthology" & "Street Fighter Anniversary Collection" games.

A POWER METAL VIDEOGAME COLLECTION!!!!!!!!

If you like fantasy, swords, chivalry, sorcery and dungegons & dragons THEN YOU WILL LOVE THESE GAMES!!!!!!!

Of course, not every game is about fantasy, there is action, fights and insane adventures! But the "POWER METAL" games are:

* Kings of Dragons: Choose between an elf, knight, dwarf, sorcerer and a big warrior to kill a bunch of dragons and beasts to save the fantasy world.

* Knights of the Round: Choose between two of the 13 knights of King Arthur or the king himself to fight for the kingdom and peace.

* Magic Sword: Control a barbarian knight that has to go to a gigantic tower to kill the king of evil and his monters or for him to become the evil king himself.

* Quiz and Dragons: Answer the questions right and you may proceed!

* Black Tiger: Control a strong knight that will use his whip to kill the Black Dragon and his brothers to restore the peace.

This five fantasy games have the horizontal gameplay and there are full of action and adventure!! And THE BEST OF ALL: You can turn down the music volume of the game so you can only hear the sound effects and put some POWER METAL music like Manowar, Dio or Blind Guardian!!!!

P.S: The reason that I put 3 stars is because the game doesn't have special features and I though that there would be more games.

Adios.

old school is here, but...............

Ho-Hum, I enjoyed vol.1 more. I just wanted this one for the 1st STREET FIGHTER. Even though it's fairly pathetic in terms of graphics & gameplay compared to any of the SF2 series. I just don't understand why capcom didn't just put SF1 in SF: Anniversary collection as an unlockable. But anyway all the other games were pretty good to see and play again, at least there's a lot of 'em and thats always a good thing.

Super StreetFighter is way too difficult!

This is a great collection of games, like the first Capcom classics collection. The game I really was looking forward to playing was super street fighter, and holy crap its difficult to beat the computer even on the easiest setting. However, I'm sure the game is fun against a human opponent. The best games I saw on the disk were Captain Commando, Knights of the Round, King of Dragons, Magic Sword, and Quiz and Dragons. The Knights of round and King of Dragons are like Sega's golden axe.

In sum I'm dissapointed about the super street fighter, but I'm still satisfied with my purchase, because I got the game on sale for 10 dollars at Target on black friday

Not as good as the first volume, but there's still some great games here

Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2 follows up the excellent first volume of retro games, and while the results aren't as great as the games in the first volume, there are still some great old games here to play. First off noting, we finally get perfect ports of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Strider; both of which are still a blast to play even to this day, and are worth the price of admission alone. A few other games, including 1941, Captain Commando, Three Wonders, Side Arms, Block Block, and Mega Twins are all solid as well. The original Street Fighter is here too, and it's still as frustrating as you remember it, but to me it seems a bit jumpy and the controls are a little clunky to boot. A few other games, including Avengers, Quiz & Dragons, and Speed Rumbler, weren't anything to write home about them, and they still aren't now. While this is a solid package overall, there's a few glaring omissions that you'd think Capcom would've packed in here. Still no Darkstalkers, and even an underrated and overlooked game like Red Earth would've been welcome here. Oh well, maybe there'll be another Capcom Classics volume down the line. And if it's half as good as Volume's 1 and 2, it'll be more than welcome.

Capcom Classics from the Arcade

This is a great collection of games to have in your library. The main reason to buy this is for SF2 Turbo, of course. However, there are several other titles on this disc that are worth playing. I recall playing 1941, Black Tiger, Captain Commando, and King of Dragons. Most of these games are multiplayer.
Therefore, this title is great for kids that would enjoy games that don't require a lot of hardcore skills. In Addition, these games are great when you don't have an hour plus to dedicate to a game. Or, you could buy this title to reminisce the 'golden age' of arcade gaming.

Awesome Game!!!

This game has pretty good graphics and over 20 different games on it. A lot of the games on it are medieval and are a lot alike but they are fun. There are also fighting games on this too that are fun. My favorite games on this are, Street Fighter, Street Fighter 2 turbo fighting, Captain Commando, Knights of the Round, King of Dragons and Three Wonders. Block Block is kind of stupid and I don't know if it is black tiger or tiger road but that game is lame and hard. I wish that there were interviews or clips on here like other compilations/arcade games had. If you are looking for other compilation/arcade games look for my reviews on... Taito Legends 1, Midway Arcade Treasures 1-3, Intellivision Lives, and Atari Anthology. Reviews Coming soon... Namco Museum 50th anniversary, Capcom Classics Collection Volume 1, Taito Legends 2 and Sega Classics Collection and/or Sega Genesis Collection.

AWESOME!!

Volume 2!! This is another awesome collection of games from the golden era of arcade! Many games here were made for NES and SNES, but now we get REAL arcade versions!

Each game looks wonderful and comes with history info, unlockable art, tips, cast, and music. You can adjust the screen, difficulty, etc.... Progress can be saved anytime during gameplay. Multiple players can play the shooter and brawler games together for more fun. These games really test your reflexes. Most games have beautiful graphics. The game designers' vivid imagination shines. I hope Capcom will make a volume 3 with Dark Stalkers.

Here are the machines:

1941:Counter Attack. A vertical shooter. You shoot up German WW2 planes, ships, vehicles, etc... Good game.

Avengers: A vertical brawler. Average game.

Black Tiger: A horizontal platformer similar to Ghosts 'n Goblins series. Medieval setting. Good game.

Block Block: A ping-pong game similar to Arcanoid(not sure of the spelling). Good game.

Captain Commando: A horizontal brawler similar to Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Final Fight. You can pick up cool guns, operate robots(similar to riding on beasts from Golden Axe). Enemy design could be better. Good game.

Eco Fighter: A zany horizontal shooter. Control is similar to Forgotten Worlds. Nice graphics. I think this game was never released in U.S. arcades because it speaks Japanese. Great game.

The King of Dragons: A horizontal brawler with mediveal setting. Some RPG elements because you level up various statistics. Bigger and better weapons/armors are acquired as you progress. Nice graphics. Great game.

Knights of The Round: A mediveal horizontal brawler. Bigger and better weapons/armors are acquired as you progress. Nice graphics. Great game.

Last Duel: A futuristic shooter. Decent game.

Magic Sword: A simple medieval horizontal brawler. You unlock jail doors to recruit fellow fighters that act like satellite. Good game.

Mega Twins: A cute cartoon horizontal platformer. I think this was never released in U.S. arcades. Great game.

Quiz & Dragons: A trivia game. Good game.

Side Arms: Hyper Dyne. A futuristic horizontal shooter. You control a jet pack wearing hero then combine with another jet suit for more cool fire power. Average game.

Street Fighter: The original fighter game. The original arcade machine have 2 big 'power' sensitive buttons, the hitting strength determined heavy, medium or light attack. You literally get a work-out playing this game. Funky control with cheesy yet funny voice actor. Good game.

Strider: A futuristic horizontal platformer. You control a futuristic Ninja with sword slash attack. Awesome graphics. Cool design. There are various spoken languages between levels, including Japanese, Russian and Chinese. I played this game on Genesis but Genesis version didn't have voice-overs, so the arcade version in this Capcom Classics Collection V2 is truly great. Superb game.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo: A fighter game. Similar to earlier Street Fighter II games with more characters like Cammy, Fei Long, T.Hawk, and Dee Jay. There is NO loading time between matches. Superb game.

The Speed Rumbler: A top-view driving shooter. You control a land vehicle. Horrible game.

Three Wonders: Its actually 3 games in one. Platform, shooter, and puzzle. The puzzle game is similar to Pengo, you push blocks to crush enemies. The horizontal platform and shooter games are great, the puzzle one decent.

Tiger Road: A horizontal brawler similar to Trojan. Medieval Far-East setting. Good game.

Varth: A futuristic vertical shooter. Good game.

This is a must buy for all REAL gamers. Old school gamers will absolutely love it. Thanks Capcom for making this game!
