Most WANTED game of the year!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 6

I know it's not out yet, but when you go to the site, you can tell that it will be a great game. With all the cars, cop chases, and tuning options galore. They have finally integrated the cops in this game, as with what they did with hot pursuit 2. The A.I. for the cops is now superb and much more better than when they just banged you into a wall. The cars they will have in the game are just amazing. I personally like the addition of exotic cars. here is what the collectors addition will feature(from eagames): Need for Speed™ Most Wanted Black Edition Announced

In celebration of Need of Speed's 10th year anniversary, EA announced today that it will be shipping a Need for Speed Most Wanted collector's edition in November, in conjunction with the launch of the game for PlayStation®2, Xbox®, Nintendo GameCube™, PSP™, Nintendo DS™, GameBoy® Advance, PC-CD and Mobile. The Xbox® 360™ version of the game will also ship as an Xbox® 360™ launch title. More details to follow.

The collector's edition titled, Need for Speed Most Wanted Black Edition, will feature exclusive cars, races and specially-tuned rides, as well as a bonus DVD with behind the scenes footage of model/actress, Josie Maran, concept art, exclusive videos and much more. Need for Speed Most Wanted Black Edition will be available for the PlayStation®2, Xbox™ and PC-CD.

Need for Speed Most Wanted combines the thrill of open-world street racing and customization with the intensity of strategic police pursuits. Need for Speed Most Wanted is the next release in the hit racing series that challenges players to become the most notorious and elusive street racer.

As you can see this is a great thing for diehard nfs fans and just people who want more out of their racing game. I am definitely going to buy this. O and here is the car list so far:

I bought this game a couple of days ago based on various on-line reviews and my past experiences with the Need for Speed franchise. As most other people have already said, this game combines the Hot Pursuit and Underground series' into one game. Most Wanted has the fast, exotic cars and the cops from Hot Pursuit and the tuner cars and elements from Undergrounds 1 and 2. That alone is enough to make anyone go out and buy this game without having second thoughts.

Now, enough with descriptions. The first major difference in the gameplay that anyone should notice is the difficulty. The guys and gals at Electronic Arts really kicked up the difficulty, making it damn near impossible to win any races in Most Wanted. That is, damn near impossible to win if you modify your cars. In Most Wanted, mods are a waste of time and money. Strangely, just buyng a new car is better nearly all of the time. Stuck on a race? Don't make your car faster! Buy a new one! This sound silly, but it is the truth.

So far, I think I have been making this game out to be fairly good. And, truthfully, for the first five hours or so, Most Wanted is the best Need For Speed game sine Hot Pursuit 2. Then, all the fun stopped. About 10 percent through the game, it became absolutely impossible to win any races. A new car wouldn't do, nor would modding the ones I had. The game started to do ridiculous things that seemed to purposely make you lose. For example, last night I unlocked the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Audi A6 Quattro. Now, one would think that, if I am racing in a Mitsubishi or an Audi, that the computer cars would be similarly matched. Hell no. In my 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse, I was put against a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500, a 1995 Toyota Supra, and a 2006 Pontiac GTO. If anyone reading this knows anything about cars, you will know that this race would be impossible to win, tuned Mitsubishi or not. I actually had to quit playing this game out of sheer disbelief. And because I threw my controller after losing the same race several times. If anyone out there is thinking about buying Need for Speed Most Wanted, especially the Black Edition, like I did, rent it first. If you can take the impossible difficulty, then buy this game. If you are like me, and want a fun to play yet moderately challenging racing game, not an impossible disaster, stick to the earlier Need for Speeds. The Burnout series isn't bad, either. Myself? I'm getting ready to head out to my local EB Games to sell this disasterpiece of a game. Maybe I'll buy SOULCALIBUR 3 with my new $60...

Without doubt this is the best NFS in our days. Sure Underground 1 and 2 bruoght the tuner world in but what is all the tuning and no cops to chase people around in this game answers the call. Unlike previous games from before these cops are heavy thinkers sure Heat 1-3 maybe easy just wait till you hit Heats 4-5. Nothing but Pontiac GTO's and Corvettes C6's chasing after you and this time they got good helicopter to inform them what your doing and they get involved too. The Career Mode will excellent with the best ciminatics I've seen. The Challenge Series is great too with the heavy stuff coming in Stages 30-69. The city in the game is even more bigger than the one in Underground 2. Compare to the LA looks from UG2. This time you get a NYC kind of city espically downtown. Lots of NYC landmarks resemble in this game so you have pay close attention to it plus they mention it in the DVD. A great game for those who want the need for speed and get chase by the blues in blue.

MOST WANTED is the best I've seen so far!!!!

EA Sports has taken in demand racing to a whole new level. We all agree that NFS Hot Pursuit 2 was so hot because of the cops. Lets just say that NFS: Most Wanted has taken the cops and the combination of Street Racing (NFS: Underground 2) to a whole new level. I'm talking about the capabilities of modding Murcielagos, and McLarens, etc... Being chased by at least 5 cops (depending on your heat level) supercharged Heavy Duty SUV's and not to mention a helicopter that just doesn't go away is intense!!! Who ever buys this game will be having hours of fun!!! I surely did!!! "For The Real Gamer - 100% Complete is a TRUE Gamer, don't give UP!!:-)

Most Wanted TOPS Underground 2.

Underground 2 was way better then first one but there was to much land, and driving around for long time was getting kinda boring after a while. The new Most Wanted there's less land which is good and all the shops are shown on the map which is a plus for me. It's defenetly improved compared to NFS U2, I'm almost done with the game number 3 on the list, at the beginning the game is bit boring cause you got a stock car but the more the you play the farther u get, the races get very difficult which is good it makes it harder to pass. The kid from MD kidna made me laugh, obviously he's not good at racing or doesnt know what he's doin. I had the game for almost 3 weeks and maybe 3-4 days I defenetly be done with it, taking my times since last need for speed I passed exacly in 2 weeks. If anyone liked Need for Speed Underground 2 you gonna love this one.

Difficulty is perfect

A Good Game, But a Step Below NFSU2.

This is an enjoyable game, with exquisite graphics and gameplay length. However, it falls between the cracks when it comes to the actual gameplay and the options you have to modify your car. It is substantially sub-par to Need for Speed: Underground 2, but is good nonetheless.

The graphics on this game floored me when I played it for the first time. Compared to NFSU:2, the graphics are in a realm of their own. The police cars, backgrounds, and even the traffic are detailed down to the pixel. In NFSU:2, the traffic simply looked like tetris blocks with wheels and the background was just a bunch of buildings under an ominous black/rainy sky. Another plus was the interactive environment. The ability to knock over water towers and collapse scaffolding to slow the police down really grabbed my interest. The gameplay length was something that really stood out. Most racing games you can easily finish in the course of a few days, but for this you really had to work hard to get it done in a week and a half. There are many aspects to the game to get 100% completion, such as the career mode races and milestones and the 68 challenge mode races. I like a game that keeps me busy for a long period of time, especially when it's a racing game.

Along with the good there's always the bad. Being that this is a "Need for Speed" title, I was expecting the usual street racing cars, along with a few twists and turns. However, this is more of a watered-down Gran Tourismo with Porches, Lamborghinis, and other exotic cars of the sort. I thought that this took away from the game, mainly because I was expecting the Skyline GT-R 34, Mitsubishi 3000GT, and maybe a Nissan 350z. However, when I viewed all the unlockable cars that you can have throughout the game, I didn't see but one of anything I expected. Being the patient person that I am, I still decided to play through the game and see what I could unlock, if these really were the ONLY cars I had to choose from. It turns out none of the unlockables were anything that made me happy, which is why NFSU:2 was better in this aspect. The options to modify your ride was what really made this game a lot less enjoyable than NFSU:2. Not only was there no dyno track, there were only 5 full bodykits to choose from, and a handful of spoilers, rims, etc. to choose from. A slider bar for performance tuning? Please. A monkey could do that. It's when you get to play with your ECU and set your gear ratios that you FEEL as if you're tuning your car to how YOU want it. The actual gameplay I feel was unappealing. The first races were long and tedious, because your car was stock and consequently very slow and handled poorly. Sure, the game picked up once you got to Blacklist racer 12 or 11, but after that it got terrible again. I found myself slamming my controller many times because the computer always found a way to win. This happened around Blacklist number 4 or 3. It seemed to me that if you hit a wall, bumped traffic, or had any speed reduction in any way, the computer would pass you as if you were sitting still. Sure, the computer screws up and slams into stuff too, but not enough for you to ever catch up at a 4 second deficit. I'm not saying the game is TOO hard, I'm just saying that it's a little harder than what it's worth.

All in all, this is a pretty enjoyable game, it has its drawbacks, but I still enjoyed it nevertheless. I feel the best aspect of the game was the M3 GTR that was unlocked at the end and the ability to drive it around, and the police chases. It gave me flashbacks of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit on the PSX. What's my recommendation? Go for this game, although it isn't true to the "Need for Speed" reputation, it's still worth the 50 bucks to get (or 35 if you buy it used).

This game is ground-breaking. It has unbelievable cars and stunning graphics. The customizing options make you want to sit in front of your tv and play all day long. The gameplay is unimaginably fast-paced and exciting. Five out of five in my opinion.

This game is probably the best of all of the need for speed games. It combines the cops from hot pursuit and the great racing from the underground 2 and the game has improved both. The cop chases are amazing. The cops have so many tactics to stop you and they also have an assortment of vehicles fromnormal cruisers to SUVs to helicopters. This game is the greatest racing game of all time. The handling of your car has really improved. Black Edition is awsome with the extra cars though the norm is just as good. There are a variety of cars like golfs to mustangs to lamborginis. this game is awsome.
