I can't put this game down!!!

I liked the original version of Juiced on the PS2 even though it had its problems. Sadly I couldn't enjoy Juiced Eliminator for the PSP. The game was well beyond my skill level. Fortunately Juiced 2 for the PSP fixed that problem. Now I can make those sharp turns without constantly slamming into the barrier. The way use nitrous is a little different that it was in the original Juiced game. You now have to build up your nitrous by power sliding around corners before you can use it. I think its better this way because now you don't have to worry about whether or not you're out of nitrous.

I love the selections of cars you start off with. I had trouble choosing between the Scion TC, the Mini Cooper, or the Audi A4 and the selection just keep getting better as you progress through career mode. Hopefully they'll have the Dodge Viper in this game. Of course you have the option to customize the cars. The process was made simpler to tune up your car. You simply choose the class you want your car to be and you are given your choices of modifications in that class.

My favorite customization by far is the decal. You can now apply decals to just about every part of the car. More importantly you can layer them on and create your own unique design. You even have the option of modifying the designs, stretch them, rotate them and even reposition them. When you're done you can save your design and apply them to other cars. It is a long and tedious process that could take you hours but since this is the main reason why I buy these games it is worth it I think.

Graphically this game is beautiful. The cars look great, the tracks and everything about this game was done very well. I was surprised as to how good this game looks considering it is for the PSP. Don't get me wrong I think the PSP's graphics are great. However whenever developers create games for multiple systems the handheld versions are often not as good or not as much attention are put into them. I really don't know how this game compares to the 360 or the PS3 since I don't own either system but this is best looking racing game I've seen on the PSP.

You still have the option to bet on races or race for pinks (if you like that kind of thing). They've done away with the annoying phone calls while you're in the middle of doing something else. You no longer have the option to host your own events. In fact they've done away with the calendar as well. You simply choose what level you want to race and choose the race type. I didn't see sprints on the menu as one of the race types. I am playing the game on rookie so it is possible it is on one of the more difficult levels.

My only problem with this game is when you start career mode. You have to complete two initiation challenges before you can start your career. The circuit race I had no trouble with however I had trouble with the drift challenge. Eventually I was able to get the hang of drifting and complete the challenge. I'm not a fan of drifting and personally could have done without it. Fortunately I don't have to get good at it to enjoy the game.

Finally the load times might be annoying to some. The game is pushing the system's graphics this is to be expected. However the gameplay is smooth and without glitches. If you've played Need for Speed Carbon for the PSP you know what I mean by glitches. You won't have moments where the track hasn't loaded and you end up driving into a barrier.

If you own a PSP you might want to give this game a try. I know because the game is available on multiple systems the PSP version might be overlooked. But I think you might enjoy this game. I know I can't stop playing it.
