-NiGHTS into Dreams was a game I stumbled upon when the Saturn was first introduced, and if you still own a Saturn and have not yet found this game: You're missing out. SEVERLY.
NiGHTS is by FAR the GREATEST game I have ever had the incredible luck to play. With it's unqiue views, incredible graphics, vivid colors and beautiful music this is something every gamer should play at least, at LEAST once.
If you have yet to buy this game, do so. You will NOT regret it.

I love this game!

Nights is the most memorable video game I've every played. Its lush graphics and wonderful game play is perfect for anyone.
Even though Sega Saturn never really became a staying power in the gaming world, Nights is a classic title that I wish was available for other formats.

FUN

...can describe this game. Anybody looking at this game at first glance, and I mean ANYBODY, would not think that this game would be entertaining for more than ten minutes. But take a second glance and you'll see something that borders on perfection.

This game takes place in a dream world, literally, known as Nightopia. The two "main characters", Elliot and Claris, fall to sleep and that's when this takes place. It's a strange story, as the evil Wizard Wizeman in Nightopia is after Ideya, which are orbs of power possessed by sleeping humans. There are five different kinds if Ideya, each representing a different trait: white for purity, green for wisdom, yellow for hope, blue for intelligence, and red for bravery. Red is the rarest of the five, and the two protagonists have it. And he's after it. Yeah, weird, huh?

Even stranger is how the gameplay is so incredible. You take form of a Nightmaren... creatures created by Wizeman to find Ideya. To his top two Nightmaren, Reala and NiGHTS, he has given free will. Reala follows Wizeman, but NiGHTS takes its own path, joining forces with Elliot and Claris to free the other Ideya from Wizeman's capture.

You do so by flying around a 2D 3D world. You ask, huh? You fly around a 2D path in a 3D world, but that path constantly changes angles and direction to lead you around the entire 3D arena. Pick up 20 blue chips and deposit them into Ideya Capture containers, or whatever they're called, and you'll break it open, freeing the Ideya. Deposit it back to a checkpoint and you'll take a new path to another Ideya Capture thing. There is no health bar, only a timer. If you run out of time your score gets reset and you have to start that round over. On completion of four rounds, you proceed to the boss of the level. After each round and boss you'll receive a grade based on your performance, and then an average grade for the whole level. If your grade is C or better, you'll proceed. Otherwise, you fail and have to try over again. Get an A on all levels, and you get the true ending.

Sounds really really really plain, right? Well, it can be, if you just go straight through each level not going for an A. Once you start shooting for a higher grade, though, is when you'll see why people rave so much about this game. The smoothness of your motion and the near-perfect design of the levels and rounds makes for a game that is beauty in motion, and challenging to perfect.

People who love this game call this game the Masterpiece of Sonic Team, rather than their other more popular and well-known work... like, uh... Sonic.

Bluntly, this game can be close to perfection if you can handle it. Many may be turned off by the concept and gameplay, but those who can see further into it will get something more than a fun game out of this. It's an experience.

The one and only bad thing about this game is that it's so loved, that Sonic Team is too scared to try a true sequel for fear of falling short of the bar set by the original. If you need more NiGHTS, look for the small extra, Christmas NiGHTS.

What a classic! Every remaining Saturn owner out there should have a copy of this. The environments are wonderfully imaginative, the replay value is long, and the music is very cool. The two player mode is terrible, and the 7 total worlds to fly in leave you wanting more, but don't let that fool you as to how much fun this game can be.
Nights was developed by Sonic Team, the best developers at Sega. Check this one out!

Ahh the good ol days. I was about 7 or 8 when I got my Sega Saturn at Christmas, and whaddya know, this game came right alongside with it. This game got easily the most play time from me out of all the games I owned. I must've beaten it like 100's of times. Sonic the Hedgehog wasn't big on Sega Saturn, so I guess Nights was kinda like Sega Saturn's Sonic. This was easily the best Saturn game, if you own a Sega Saturn and not this game you should be ashamed, go buy it. NOW!

Nights into Dreams...

This game is about two kids named Elliot and Claris. They often see a being called Nights during their dreams. One day they both feel bad. But that night in their dreams Nights tells them that they must help him save the dream world from Wizeman and his nightmaren, for Elliot and Claris have the rare red Ideya dream energy.

So in each level you start out with all 5 Ideya orbs of 5 different colors and little dream monsters snatch them all but red, which they cannot steal. As Elliot or Claris (you get to choose), you can walk in any direction, around a full 3D enviorment. You can jump up any mountain, but you cant attack. Once you turn into Nights by walking into the shrine with an Ideya orb, you may become Nights. Nights can go up, down, right, or left, but not forward or backwards. As Nights you then fly around (this is cool because the angle constantly changes as you fly) and collect the Ideya orbs one at a time by collecting blue chips to put into each Ideya crab, which holds the Ideya orb. This isn't easy because if you run out of time, you change back to Elliot or Claris and fall to the ground, scattering your blue chips. If you dont have an Ideya orb with you, you cannot enter the shrine, and therefore must retrieve an Ideya orb by following the red arrow in front of Elliot or Claris in order to get to the Ideya crab and take the Ideya Orb. Then the arrow will turn blue and lead you back to the shrine where you once again take the form of Nights. Beware! While you are Elliot or Claris, an evil alarm clock will follow you and attempt to wake you up.

The bosses in this game are really fun! REALLY FUN!(Especially Puffy.)

Also the 3D controller is AWESOME! The game is much better with it.

The music is very calm and I like it. It's really good and fits the game nicely. It also reminds me a little of nature.

So overall this game is one you MUST have if you like video games.
