WARNING not for kids!

My wife bought this for my 1st grade daughter. I pointed out to the wife that it probably was not appropriate for her since it was rated T for Teen and had sexual content. I mentioned this on several occasions. Imagine my shock when I walked in and saw my daughter watching a naked couple frolicking in the sack. She tried to cover up the screen with her little hand and was embarrassed. I told her "let's go get Mom" and when we returned the man had left the room, but the woman was in bed rubbing her privates. Again, NOT APPROPRIATE FOR KIDS!!!

The only problem

The only problem I have found with this game is if you install anything before the H&M Fashion stuff it makes your game act funny. It acts funny in it won't let you put windows or doors in your houses. It says they need to sit in the middle of the tile. But other than that i love this game.

Sim-addicts. This is it!

THe sims 2 is a brilliant game by Ea games. It shows multiple experiences of real life (having babies, getting married, death, and love)as well as unrealistic(getting abducted by aliens, having the grim reaper come after you die etc.) I believe it is a great game for anyone but not really for kids under 10. It does have some adult themes such as "woohoo" and bars(which the make as juice)I would recomend it to anyone who dosen't like games with a real objective. I would also suggest that you should not start on Pleasant View because it tends to screw up you're gaming experience. I would suggest strange town. It is a great learning experience for anyone who is a beginner. Sims is a wonderful game (but after you play sims 2 you just CANT go back to the regular sims ( I tried trust me it hurts) I would buy sims because it is worth you're $30 dollars (stuff packs are usually $20) Happy simming!

Much better than the original.

The expansive features on the Sims 2 Deluxe makes for a much better and continuously entertaining game. You are to customize most anything you want to, though it is quite time consuming. I highly recommend this game.

It is definitely better than sims 2 for Xbox. It's smashing at first but it kind of loses it's momentum as you progress. If you don't have at least once expansion pack I think it would have been a bit dull. Overall it was a pretty good game.

Addictive and Stressful but Fun

I'm a newbie in the Sims World and I must say this game got my complete attention for a while. I got so addicted to it I couldn't stop playin. I have stopped playin it for a bit now because I found it stressed me out a lot having to take care of both needs and wants of multiple sims. The nightlife expansion is very very fun, it has a lot of different places to visit like shopping, dining, parks, places to take your potential date, clubs and many more great places to take your sims. Overall the game is pretty good.

Before I begin, I'd like to note that I'm just giving my impression of the game, and it is not necessarily going to be the same as yours. That said, the game itself is a very well designed simulation of what can be considered real life. You have to meet the needs of each of your sims, which can be considered either your personal avatars or pets (depending on how you look at it) in the world of The Sims 2. I found the level of customization to be impressive, especially with the numerous mod sites online, and the ease with which you can mod the game. The game play is not too different from the first game, but they did fix a lot of annoying bugs and complaints I had about it.
The reason that this game doesn't get 5 stars is that additional content costs $20 for each set you buy. The problem is that in the regular game, after a certain point in time you will have bought all of the best items and have completed your career track. After this happens, there isn't much left to do short of either trying to seduce every sim in the neighborhood or murder them depending on your inclination. The extra content packs, while adding content, add very little. Sure it's fun to be a vampire, but only for a couple of hours and then it just loses its charm. Other packs don't even feature anything as nifty as that, such as clothing packs, and should have just been free updates. I found the game only entertained me for a couple of weeks before it stopped being all that fun.
However, this is just me. Other people may become obsessed with building a perfectly controlled community with its own story lines and role play using the sims, others will think the game is the dumbest thing they've ever played (like my roommate). I suggest getting the demo and seeing how much you like it.

Better Than I Thought it Would Be

I played the first version of the Sims and liked it, but there were little things that always bothered me about it, like constantly having to make the sims go to the bathroom, and how it took them forever to walk around each other, how difficult it was to get them to talk to each other and date, etc., so I put off buying The Sims 2 until I got a new computer recently.

Well, I have to say I am really loving this game and have fallen in love with it all over again. I actually bought this title and all the other expansion packs at once (through Seasons) and installed them altogether. The experience is really great! The graphics are much better, I love the way you can manipulate the camera angles, and the sims are now a little smarter about what they do autonomously, so if I have a large family to play, I can concentrate on one sim for a while and not have to worry about what the others are doing.

The downtown area in the Nightlife section is really cool, and it takes less time to order and receive food now. I like the new date scoring system, and the new aspirations give a little sense of urgency to the game, which I enjoy. You now have specific goals to work toward with each sim, and there's incentive to reach the goals because you know your sim will eventually die. Oh, and did I mention that there's vampires now?

Love, love, love what they've done to this game!
