Universal.. GameCube Game or a Frisbee!!!

First, lets just say that this game sounds awesome. So you order it. Get it, then play it. Then you will say " Why did I waste $50 on this?". Good question!
First, I will say the visuals of the park are excellent. That is the only reason it got 2 stars in my rating. But that is where it all ends. You start out at the beginning of the park looking for a park map. You walk around, talk to people and Woody Woodpecker who are trying to give you clues as to what to do next. Well, you don't need clues. All you do is go to each attraction( which are Back to the Future, Backdraft, Lost World, Jaws, E.T. and Western World) complete the tasks or mini-games for each attraction and get a stamp. Oh, I forgot, the big challenge is to find all of the letters in the park that spell out Universal Studios. Of course it is no challenge at all! Once you have collected all of the stamps and have seen the "Hollywood Magic Show", the game ends. I finished it in 2 hours.
There is only one possible purpose to this game, advertisement for Universal Studios! Maybe it is good and challenging for young kids(10&under), otherwise don't waste your money! Rent it first to see if you like it, but I doubt you will.

Stupid "Studios", Has No "Universal" Appeal

For the, hyperactive jackass, family member comes this overly obvious advertisement for "Universal Studios". The game seems to be made by the politcally correct manufacturing department at both Nintendo and "Universal", and it sucks, big time! The game's lesson is to teach young visitors of the park to put trash in its place and keep the park clean. Whats next "Universal"? A game that teaches park visitors when they sprinkle when they tinkle, to please neat and wipe the seat?! Or how about a game where players must wash there hands before returning to work!

As a young tourist, the player must hookup with Woody Woodpecker and after listening to his idiotic directions, must go thru the park, picking up trash to gain points, then trying to get into all the main attractions (mini-games) before the park closes.

First off, since when is picking up trash fun?!? And on vacation no less!! The other people, that walk thru the park, are useless, giving no clues or hints at all. The mini-games suck... every... single... one of them. I have never seen a decent game released from any "Universal" film, that includes "Back to the Future", "Jaws", "E.T.", and "The Mummy". The graphics are in the Japanimation style - I thought I was going to vomit dayglow colors after an hour of gameplay (the colors are so distracting, my eyes hurt after awhile). This game is pure crap & totally assinine. If Universal" is proud of this game, then they should really be ashamed of themselves. An absolute waste of one's time.

I gave this four stars instead of three, because the high points of this game really do matter. This is what I thought Universal Studios: Theme Parks Adventure has inside:

The High and Good Points:
*Based on Universal Studios in Japan
*Great Photo-Realistic Graphics
*Real-time voices
*One of the best graphic displays on the GCN yet
*A must for minigame fans
*Additictive Gameplay
*Great Movie Music, highly added
*Minigames are fun and some are two players
*A movie quiz with over 500+ questions
*Great, un-sloppy cinema sequences

The Average Points:
*Only main characters talk
*Not much characters
*Takes a while to beat on other modes
*Easy mode way too easy, doesn't help you prepare for normal and hard mode at all
*Attraction Mode base poorly thought out
*Should have included the Backlot Tour or more minigames
*Map makes no sense what so ever since you go in little sequences

The Bad and Low Points:
*Camera Angles are horribly made
*Guides say you can explore in first-person, which is not true
*Some minigames are arcade-style, but have skimpy play control
*Backdraft is extremely hard to beat in easy and normal mode
*Jurassic Park is a game that has an unbeatable ending in Normal and Hard mode
*E.T. is way too simple on any mode
*Very, extremely childish at times, especially in the character voices and the puzzles
*Puzzles ridiculously easy
*Quiz is way too hard on normal and hard mode
*Quiz becomes way too easy after you saw the questions a million times
*Talking to people makes no sense, since they are always talking about "Universal Studios is so great"
*Caps and the Hover Board makes a great collection of stuff to collect, but there should be more (like the real things at a theme park [Souvenirs and Food])

This is not a promo for the studios, but is highly into talking about the park.

To sum this up, Universal Studios: Theme Parks Adventure is fun for a rent, but a pain for a buy. So, rent it and have fun, which was I did and I was satisfied.

Did I miss something?

Well maybe I'm just too old for this one, but I went in expecting it to be more of a kids game. Nevertheless, this was without question the worst game I've ever played on any system. The game interface was incredibly poorly constructed, moving from one screen to the next made no sense as your perspective changes more or less randomly every time you move to a new area, and your viewpoint is set arbitrarily by the game. I find it astonishing that with all of the 3d graphics power of the system this game won't even let you change your viewpoint. There are no markings for where you can and can't go, so you spend a great deal of time just walking into dead ends to make sure there isn't something there. The games themselves are dull and unimaginative, most requre no real input from the user anyway and almost play themselves. Many of the games I tried to play turned me away with a message that there were too many people on the ride already? Maybe that is an accurate reflection of what Universial Studios is really like, but its infuriating in a video game. And while you can assume from the name that its a promotion for Universal Studios, the level of advertising got very annoying very quickly. Every person in the game that you talk to gushes about how wonderful Universal Studios is, and after about the 10th in-game ad for their park I just stopped talking to the other people. Don't waste your money on this one.

To Short, To Easy!

Well, to start off, the only reason I rented this game was for the BTTF ride, but once I had played that game, it was boring. All you do is hit Biff, the only thing that can hold you back from winning is running out of time! None of the games kept to the story of the movie, nor the ride, except for BTTF.

Another something I found to be a down side to this game, was the camera angles. When you're walking through the park, the camera stays in one place! It gets very frustrating at times. Another bad thing about this game is that it's the easiest game I've ever played! Now that can be good, or bad, but in this case, it's bad. The games are short, silly, and easy. Once you beat it, there's nothing else to do. I beat this game in one day! My question is, where's the challenge?!

Well, few as they are, it dose have some good points. One would be the graphics, they are wonderful! The Animation is very well done.

So, would I buy this game? No. Would I rent it? Yes, I already have, but I wouldn't rent it again. So if your not sure, rent the game, but wait on buying it, I think you'd be a bit disappointed.

ET, jurrasic park, wild wild west and many others. woody wood pecker is your guide through the game along with other employes and park guest that will help u in the game...pEaCe

This game, Universal Studios Theme Park is awesome. You walk around and interact with and talk to park employees adn regular people. You need to complete 5 attractions: ET where you just have to ride ur bike across to ET's ship, very simple. JP - where you have to fight off dinosaurs, pretty hard. Quiz which is really stupid and piontless, but it is really hard. Just watch waterworld, backdraft, back to the future, and dragonheart a billion times, and u'll pass it. Backdraft, by far the best game where you go into a burning building and put out fires and rescue people. And there is wild, wild, wild west, shooting gasme, hitting targets, pretty cool. watching waterworld, and back to the future, really hard. u need to kill biff by bashing in to him b4 he escapes. overall, great game. go out and rent it first, though and play it. it's not very good value becasue i beat it in 3 days, but u can crank up the difficulty. u also need to go around the park finding letters, and picking up garbage. if u like theme parks, it's fun, but if ur in to sports games and junmk, like me, its' all right. go out and rent it first. I URGE U TO RENT IT FIRST!!!...

Should you ever find yourself entering the gates of Hell, Satan will personally hand you a copy of this GC turd. Why? Because playing this ultra-boring video "game" is worse than having a spike driven through your pancreas. The designers of this stinker should be forced to play it for 24 hours. The game play is as exciting as watching flies mate. Your pathetic missions are sprinkled with tedious trash-picking and disturbing mini-games. In fact, when you throw a piece of trash away, the boy exclaims with delight, "This is FUN!" It's as if they need to tell you that you are actually enjoying the game. Of course, you are not. You are figuring out ways to get your money returned while holding back the tears. Be afraid. Be very afraid... And bored out of your mind.

Rent this game, IF YOU WANT TO BE BORED, DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!

This is one of the worst and most boring games I have ever played in my life... It (disappoints) so much, it has boring trivia, which has such horrible questions, it has minigames which use a or b button, and are SO basic and stupid... This is by far the worst GameCube game EVER I hope... I bought it, and then returned it 1 day later because it was so bad... PLEASE LISTEN TO MY ADVICE!!!
