After our 1000th game of Uno, my family needed a new card game.

So, we gave Mario Party a try.

First off- You don't need an E-Read to play this game.
It was really dubious from the box whether that was the case or not.
You will need to have a coin handy for the "chance" part of the game.

With that said, this game has been very popular with my 5 year old son and 8 year old daughter.

The rules were mercilessly simple (compared to the un-playable Harry Potter Quiditch card game), and we were up and playing almost instantly.

For my 5 year old son, we played open handed the first few games so he got the gist of what each card meant (there is a text explanation of how to play special cards that needs explaining.) After that, he now associates the character on the card with what it does.

My only "complaint" with the game is it can take awhile to finish; I'd say for 3 players, 30-40 minutes is the norm.

Like most games, the fate of the game is largely chance based. However, like Uno, some skill and thought can definitely help you to win the game. (Should I save this card or use it now... what happens if I do / don't do this now. Etc. )

It those characteristics of the game that I enjoy seeing my kids work on.

Lets Party!

Mario Party e brings a wonderful card game from Nintendo's hit game Mario Party. On each colorful card there's some excitement to the game. You need Coin cards to play certain cards like duel item and some chaos cards. Chaos cards are a fun way to mix up the fun. Sometimes you can take some of your opponent's cards. Blocker cards prevent any of your opponents to try and take your cards. With Deul cards, you need a game boy advance to pick an opponent and let the duel begin. Whoever wins follows the directions on the card. Item cards you have to collect three and play a superstar card to win! Superstar cards you need to win the game or you can use them to steal an item card. Search cards you can play a mini game and if you win you are allowed to search your opponents hand or the deck for cards. So shuffle the deck, deal the cards, and Let's Party!

...get this thing!

Now I was not a real big fan of Mario Party 4. So I said I'll just try this one. And I did. So,I read the instructions while waiting in a line at a resturant. When I sat down,I was all ready in love with it. When I got home I played the mini games on the E-Reader and they were cool. Since the game is only for two players I called my friend and asked him if he wanted to come over. He said yes. At first he was hesitant about playing it because he didn't like the other Mario Party games but he finaly said O.K. So we played it and it was realy fun. The only bad point is you need at least two players to play and if your an only child like me it's a big disadvantage. All and all, I'll give it five stars.

More fun than Uno ever was

Looks like nintendo really knows what the e-reader can be used for. While all other e-reader cards thus far were either completely dependant upon the e-reader for fun or barely used the e-reader (pokemon-e cards only sport extras), Mario Party-e is fun as a standalone game or with the e-reader! The card game is fun and the mini games make the game crazy.

My brother and I played a bunch of times the other day. Just as i thought i would win- a minigame resulted in him taking all my progress. the lead switches hands at the whim of minigames. The whole experience is fun and each game is different.

Wonderfull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
