Hours of Tomb Raider-ness

I originally got this game for the PC when it came out and I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to try it out for my Wii. It is different than the originals but a touch or two and the puzzles are all new. The graphics are decent to for a Wii game. This is for anyone who likes puzzles and action.

I got this game for my husband for christmas and he has really enjoyed it. I have had to look up some cheats.... but for the most part he enjoys the challenge.

I purchased this for my younger brother who is a serious gamer (at only 11). He said this game was a little complicated to get the hang of and learn but overall he would recommend this game. It's great if it got this review from him, believe me.

Great game for the Wii lover

This game was a gift for my sixteen year-old daughter; she loves it, but the villains creep her out somewhat, as they're very well realized; she says that she can't play it right before bed, or she'll have Tomb Raider nightmares!

FUN!

I'm a novice wii player, and I am having a blast with this game, it is difficult, specially the shooting. But you get used to it, And I had to search for some walkthroughs at times, but it is FUN!

Fun, Immersive, and Takes Practice

I got this game a month ago. At first, I could not get the hang of the controls for the finer moves. After doing the Croft Manor sections - which is by far the hardest "practice" section of any TR I've played - I got the wiimote to work okay. I love the scenes and interactiveness - the puzzles and bonus items are always a great time investing challenge.
I just wish the camera angle would not be so weird - I constantly need to reset it the whe "c" button. Practice. Once you practice it a lot, it's as easy as the PS2 versions and more fun. I'm pretty sure I can actually finish this game for once!

Great update

The Wii update of the original Tomb Raider game is a welcomed edition where some things worked well and others didnt. The graphical update is a welcomed change and makes the game play much nicer. For the most part, the Wii specific controls add depth to the game, but some controls work better than others. I had no issue with the camera and I found using the IR of the Wii remote to swing the camera works very well (contrary to what other reviewers have said). However, what holds this game back from being completely captivating is the original storyline. While the locals are neat, the story itself does not compel me to continue playing. The gameplay can be frustrating at times and the overall challenge of the game is pretty substantial. But completing the bosses does feel good and is generally worth the effort.

If you like adventure games (i.e. Prince of Persia), you should enjoy this game. While not as engaging as Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, the game is worth playing through, even if just to watch Lara complete her adventure.

suprisingly good

The Wii doesn't have too many games for it yet, and that's why I bought this. I remember playing the first Tomb Raider game, and it felt like I was trying to get a cow to do acrobatics. I was so happy that this version has controls that are much easier to use.

Lara is easy to use, and easy to move. There are a few things wrong with the controls though. The camera is not very friendly when you are in a hurry. The games' difficulty rises at a slow pace giving you plenty of time to get used to the controls. However when you get to Greece, and a few timed puzzles come around, the camera suddenly decides to hate you with a passion making something that should be simple difficult. The aiming is a bit spastic too. Moving the Wii remote just a little causes the cross hair to shift dramatically. And, getting used to running and shooting is difficult at first, but it just takes some getting used to.

I know I said a few bad things about this game, but I did give it four stars because it is a lot of fun except for a few quirks.

Anniversary edition is pretty good, lots of fun.

I played the Tomb Raider with the ps2 and like it now with wii anniversary edition. Hard to manuver at first, but when you get the hand of it it's pretty nice.

This game is hard to control and very hard to look around, to top that off it is the very same as all the others. So if you like dying, arduous repetition, hard to use controls, and going over the same areas again and again this is the game for you. There are far better titles out on the Wii, there is also a reason this game costs $29.99 New.
