Install it right

Do a clean install of FSX and then reboot. Then install your Acceleration pack. Do this especially if you have added any mods or tweaks. The new Acceleration pack takes full advantage of multiple core PCs and runs smooth as silk. Follow these steps and you will have a flawless install.

awful, buggy, should have waited until after first update

such a piece of junk. as an fsx expert, i expected to have to uninstall and reinstall most everything. but this is ridiculous. uninstalled and reinstalled 12 times. had to reinstall fsx and fsx/sp1. sometimes acceleration won't even install due to direct x incompatibility. awful product. even Microsoft should be ashamed. don't buy it until they release the inevitable "update" which is really a patch which should have been included. I agree with the reviewer who thought he knew better and other complainers were just newbies...don't make that mistake.

Not Worth It.

I wish I had read these reviews before I impulsively bought this. Would have saved me the money and wasted time. Right off the bat it would not install, had to get Bombay on the phone, took 90 minutes to do what I should have figured out in the first place; delete pre-fetch, disable non-MS services, restart, etc, etc. This is (and soon will be) a $9.99 flop. Not worth it.

Program is a LEMON

Got Acceleration for Christmas and it fails to load. It does do a real good job at locking up my computer forcing a manual shutdown. I had the same problem loading FSX but finally got it working after 4 days. I don't know what it is with Microsoft but they are turning out inferior products. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT.

This is far better than anything I have ever flown. The fa/18 jets are great.

A let down

I figured this game would run flawlessly on the computer I am using because the computer can run fsx deluxe on full settings with no problems, but I was very wrong. The program installs like it should without any errors and allows you to enter the key id without error, but when I go to start the game it always gets an error saying my graphics card does not support shaders. This would not suprise me if the computer was unable to run fsx or could vairly run fsx, but it runs fine on full settings and because of that you would think the expansion would at least start up.

I'm not so sure I would have payed $29.95 for this but Amazon had it for $13.17 at the time I bought it. I figured it was worth the risk at that price. I was right. It is well worth $20.

I read all the reviews and the complaints about shoddy coding and the inability to get it to work correctly. I don't know what to say about that. I had no problem. I already had SP2 which it instructed me to uninstall. I was a bit hesitant and made a full backup before I did that. No problems at all. Worked perfectly.

What I like about it:
The three planes are worth the $20 alone. Very nice and lots of fun. There are quite a few new missions which are very fun and interesting. I love the missions in FSX and having more is well worth it to me. One of the features this expansion pack provides is a nitrous oxide boost to the Extra 300. That is great! Now I can get well over 200 knots while boost is engaged!

What I don't like:
There are several new key commands with this expansion pack. For some stupid reason, three of them use the same key commands as existing commands. During installation, you are asked whether you want to install these new commands. Doing so unassigns the original commands that conflict with these new ones! Why can't they simply use key commands that don't conflict? Really stupid! I had to go back to do that by hand and made up new (unused) commands for these new ones so that my keycard didn't need to be changed. Not a big deal really but just unnecessary stupidity there.

I don't know why this pack can't be smart enough to simply recognize that I already have SP2 and just install the rest and not have to install SP2 as well. Just poor programming. Again, not a big deal but I was pretty apprehensive to go into "Add and Remove Programs" and uninstall the game in order to install this thing.

If I had this to do all over again, I would certainly do it at the $13.71 price but I'm not sure I would pay $30 + shipping.

A very nice addition with varying skill levels to challenge. Some I won't complete, some no interest but Acceleration is a worthwhile addition to FSX.

Great addon for FSX

I got this for Christmas. Its great! The carrier landing tutorial is hard, and the slingload thing is nearly impossible, but the new planes and new missions are awesome! I would recommend this to anyone.
