Another Great Game Ruined By Multiplayer Glitches

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 2 / 2
Date: April 12, 2007

Just yesterday I wrote a review for "Resistance: Fall Of Man" and this game falls victim to the same online issues! Most maps are open fields but on some maps I see players glitching their butts off! How are we suppose to enjoy the online multiplayer feature if the playing field is not equal ?

The game is beautiful and all but that would be expected on this $ 600.00 system. If the battle field is not equal, the game is ruined. Once again, offline play is great - online play is ruined on some maps by glitchers flying over your head getting easy kills.

Lastly, trying to get a multiplayer game going is a pain. I constantly get connection errors even though there is ample slots available to join a game in progress. However, when it does work - it works well! My only problem is all these weak gamers who resort to cheating and ruin a good thing!

One of the best WW2 shooters ever

Call of duty 3 is great! Its fun, looks great and actually uses the tilt function well. Its not exactly original but its fun using the tilt function. You use it when you get ambushed, knock people out and plant bombs. The single player campaign is good fun, but the online multiplayer is where the game hits its best! There is a lot of options too choose from when online so you could be playing online for a while. But the game is held back by some stupid flaws, the biggest being the lack of an offline multiplayer. Its lazy and stupid having no offline multiplayer especially if you cant connect to any games online. Like most war games the story is pretty awful. The game has bad frame-rate as well. But besides all the flaws that i have stated, Call of duty 3 is a worthy sequel and one of the best WW2 shooters around!

A safe buy

COD3 is a safe buy. It is a solid game. If you liked the previous COD's you will enjoy this. Of course that is also one of the problems. It is the same game. It was sort of neat the way they let you use the sixaxis controller to do different tasks, but that got old every time I needed to set a demolition charge. I didn't like the fact that you couldn't skip the narration movies in between loads. The game seemed a little buggy. Especially with the audio. I would get the occassional "pop" from my tv speakers. It is a still a worth buy, and if you like COD you will enjoy it.

It's funny to me that this game is being glorified because of good graphics. It's the same tired game I have for PS2 (Call of Duty 2) with a serious graphic upgrade. Don't get me wrong, the graphics are fantastic, but the gameplay is tried and not true, and gets boring really fast. I didn't even finish it because like I said, it's the same old game.

Muy Bueno!!

The game is good don't get me wrong it is also entertaining to play. The thing that ruins it for me though is the lousy way the weapons translate the way they aim. That is done mush better in COA4

not Call of Duty 4

Call of Duty 4 was my first experience with a first person shooter. It was so awesome, I couldn't wait to get Call of Duty 3. Well, they are nothing alike--and I'm not talking about the WW2 theme. COD 3 is far inferior in every way. Your own men are constantly getting in your way and usually provide little help. Even when they should be in a spot to cover you, they don't. You are at war with eternally spawning Germans with your own guys constantly getting in your way and continually saying "cover me" or "germans behind that well" (imagine that being said over and over and over as you try to get through an objective). Very annoying. Many other things like this, but you get the point.

Disappointing! Get the previous one for Xbox 360

Activision screwed this game up real bad. Call of Duty 2 for Xbox 360 was a standout game and had infinite replay value (online multiplayer and offline), but it seems like they changed the flow of the game a lot. Everything feels slow and boring and it pales in comparison to Resistance: Fall of Man.
If you have an Xbox 360 get Call of Duty 2 or Resistance instead. This game is really disappointing.
