''An ok game for the dreamcast''

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 0 / 0

This game is fun if you like destruction. The graphics are prety good and the gameplay and frame rate is smooth. There is also a wide range of weapons, Each character has his or hers own unique special weapon, Kinda like Twisted metal 123and4 but better graphics and gameplay. But, This game if not as good as Twisted metal black, It's ok for the dreamcast, And for (the money) it's a good deal.

WOW, This is just as fun as Spawn

Spawn for dreamcast is an excellent game where you battle against other players using multiple weapons. Vigilante 8 is just about the same concept, but you use cars rather than people.

There are secret codes that make the game a lot more fun. You enter these codes on the options menu. There are codes for rapid fire, all secret cars, and all secret levels. These codes can be found on most game websites for free.

My Favorite Game Of All Time

Everything in this game is beyond amazing. I can honestly say this is my favorite game of all time. Not are the characters/cars very likeable and appealing, but the gameplay itself, as well as the graphics and levels just cannot be beat. This game really is beautiful and it's terrible that this is one of those forgotten games that people don't remember that much. But I still play it thouroughly, and it hasn't gotten old at all. And I've been playing it ever since i got it, which is probably sometime back in 2000.

well good game but....

Can't beat the PS or 64 versions

I know sega, and they cut so many corners, i have the 64 version and it's graphics can't be beat, especialy on high res. The PS version looks great with smooth texture mapping on the PS2. The Dreamcast is a 128 bit system, but it has Nintendo 64 graphics, it looks no better, sometimes a lot worse. It sure can't compeat with the PS2, but some 64 games on high res look close to early PS2's graphics. If you want a 64 bit Sega system, get a Saturn, it has much better graphics than the PS, but not as many games.

A classic shooter-driver game

This game has an awesome storyline and the endings are cool. The graphics are good but the controls could be better . The gameplay though is awesome and if you got a few friends you won't be able to stop playing.Even without friends the game is addictive. The this sequel is just as good as the first but is not much better. But if you like shooters this game is a must buy.Peaceout

I am an avid video gamer and there are lots of games that I like, but this is certainly not one of them. I thought that the first game was tons better. 2nd Offence is so much trouble to control the vehicles, that to be honest, it's not really worth it. The graphics just gave me a headache. The only reason why I have this game is that I was able to get it at a serious discount. Please, if you have any sense, don't go near this.....It really is terrible!!

i dont agree with the other reviews. i was very dissapointed when i purchased this game. although, if u have never played any vigilante 8 games on any platforms this game is a MUST buy. but i dont recomend it to people that have no friends. this is possibly 1 of the best multiplayer games on dreamcast. i have played v8 on n64 & ps. n64 has best versions. ps version [was bad]. dreamcast has best graphics (only the movies after u beat level, original gameplay graphics blow chunks). if u have a n64 and a dreamcast buy the 64 game cuz dreamcast rushed this game into the market. i cant rate this game less than 3 stars cuz vigilante 8 is the best car combat game EVER. i just expected alot more (although, i kinda knew when i bought it cause it was only 19.99. n64 version was 59.99) but like i said if u never played vigilante 8 version 1 or 2 on any platforms i guarantee u will love this game.

Disco duck?

Activision's Vigilante 8 comes crashing on the Sega Dreamcast, and, although there are concerns regarding the game's questionable gameplay, the action remains where it's at, and that's pretty funky. The game takes place in the 70's, an era of disco and pet rocks, and you control one of several vehicles trying to destroy others in various stages. Graphic detail here is a definite plus, with a smooth game speed and plenty of smart details throughout, and the gameplay, while not rock solid, is still good, giving you the ability to select wild weapons on the fly. The music's got funky touches as well, but, hey, I'm just glad "Boogie Fever"'s not on there. The four player mode adds a nice touch to the end product. Not the grooviest combat game on the planet, but it sure beats playing with a pet rock, don't it?
