worse than 1 star

If I could give this garbage a "zero star" rating, I would. It is that bad. This is one of those titles that is simply trying to cash-in on a successful show. Shame on you, American Idol. The show is a hit, big ratings = big money. This game, on the other hand, is pure crap. Do not rent, do not buy.

This is a joke...

But oh well, I guess if you are an actual gamer you won't even be checking this one, so it doesn't matter.

Umm....

When I first got this game I loved it. I beat it over and over again. Everyone at school was constantly playing it whenever I brought it. Truth to tell whenever I brought it I was a little bit popular. But then the game just got old. It's doing the same songs over and over again. The graphics stink! And the judges say the same thing over and over. "Oh that was great" even if you didn't press a button the entire time. And then when you finally do OK at the finale they say " You stink now get out of here." It's a tuly dissapointing game for Idol fans. The Playstation 2 version is better though.

It's...uhhh...ok

Ok, first things first, it's got music you've heard of. Great. It's got bad graphics. Paula looks like an old Charlie Brown Comic. Simon looks like a pixelated monster. Randy is the worst, he looks like a Hershey Kiss. Bad. The singing, bad. Even if you've got all of them happy faces, you're pitch is like someone on a trampoline, up and down. This would work great on the Nintendo DS. 64-bit graphics. YESS! Sound, you would sing, the DS has a microphone! Ahhh.... I can only dream. For now I recomend Karaoke Revolution Party. Bye

This game is horrible

Fun game to play

I thought that this game was fun when I first got it. You have to press a certain button and you want to get a smiley face. If you get five smiley faces in a row, your style goes up one point. Though it is a fun game to play, I didn't give it five stars though. I was expecting the game to have competitions just like the actual show but you could probably finish a competition in 10-15 minutes. Maybe even less. If you are expecting a game that's identical to the show, I wouldn't recommend this item to you. If you do like American Idol but you don't expect the game to be exactly like the show and you don't care if a game is challenging or not, then I would recommend this game to you. I hope this review helped you!

Fun!

American Idol is a fun game that's easy to pick on and has a bit of a challenge. The object of the game is to tap either the "A" or "B" button when the cursor gets to the button icon. It's much like Frequency and Amplitude for the PS2. There are 3 types of modes; Competition, Rehearsal, and Endurance. Competition is where you work your way up to becoming the next American Idol. Rehearsal lets you practice you skills before moving on to the competition. Endurance is where you perform as many songs as you can but you must raise the charisma meter up to the designated area to move on to the next song. There are about 20 songs in all from various artists including Ricky Martin, The Monkeys, and even Elvis Presley. The only downside to this game is that instead of saving, you have to type in a password instead. Games like this annoy the crap out of me but this game is still fun, especially for the American Idol fans.

This is one of the worst games I've played since yugio

I love this game! It's challenging and absolutely nothing like the show. You have to work at it and it can get boring but when you finally win you feel so accomplished!!!!
