This is a great game! Don't belive to all of those people saying it's garbage. i like it because you pick a character (boy or girl) and pick out there outfit, and then you do compiticion, rehersal or endurence. compiticion is where you compete to be crowned american idol, rehersal is where you can practice unlocked songs, and endurence is where you practice every song on the list until you are voted off. it's really fun and i think more people should buy it!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Finally they came out with a video game of the hit Reality TV show American Idol. It is a really fun game to play you have to be quick with your fingers to press certain button codes in to make your singer be able to sing to the beat of the music , watch out if you mess up on singing then the judges will kick you out of the competition with a few words of criticism!!! you have to get throught multiple rounds of singing to make it to the finals to try to be crowned the new "American Idol"!!!!

Fun!

American Idol is a fun game that's easy to pick on and has a bit of a challenge. The object of the game is to tap either the "A" or "B" button when the cursor gets to the button icon. It's much like Frequency and Amplitude for the PS2. There are 3 types of modes; Competition, Rehearsal, and Endurance. Competition is where you work your way up to becoming the next American Idol. Rehearsal lets you practice you skills before moving on to the competition. Endurance is where you perform as many songs as you can but you must raise the charisma meter up to the designated area to move on to the next song. There are about 20 songs in all from various artists including Ricky Martin, The Monkeys, and even Elvis Presley. The only downside to this game is that instead of saving, you have to type in a password instead. Games like this annoy the crap out of me but this game is still fun, especially for the American Idol fans.

Hours of fun

This is by far the most entertaining computer game I've played in ages.
The clothes, the judges and the songs make this an awesome game! I am also really impressed with the picture and sound quality of the game - I'm constantly singing along to all the songs!

Got this for my GBA at Xmas after playing the PS2 version at the Girlfriends....have to say it was a funny and enjoyable xmas with the dance mat and all.

Decided on the scope of that, that I should try the GBA version too....and I wasn't disappointed. This is the only game I know of that has full songs playing off the little machine which is a joy to listen too...well if you're in time that is ;)

One to take on trips in my opinion. Worth a buy!

Fun game to play

I thought that this game was fun when I first got it. You have to press a certain button and you want to get a smiley face. If you get five smiley faces in a row, your style goes up one point. Though it is a fun game to play, I didn't give it five stars though. I was expecting the game to have competitions just like the actual show but you could probably finish a competition in 10-15 minutes. Maybe even less. If you are expecting a game that's identical to the show, I wouldn't recommend this item to you. If you do like American Idol but you don't expect the game to be exactly like the show and you don't care if a game is challenging or not, then I would recommend this game to you. I hope this review helped you!

The people in charge of making American Idol: The Game made it as best as they possibly could. First of all, you get to pick your gender and your wardrobe, and then you start singing in the "audition" round. If you do well, you go on to sing in another round with another song and another outfit. This pattern continues, but the songs get faster and harder. Some might ask, how do you play this game?
Do you actually sing? The answer to that is a definite no. A circle loops around your Game Boy character filled with A & B's. You press the A & B buttons when the transparent box comes to them in the circle. It's very simple and well-thought.
The better you center your presses, the better your score is. Also, be sure to dress modestly; your wardrobe choice will either get a thumbs up, an OK sign, or a thumbs down. The songs range from Elvis to Britney Spears and while they do get old before long, play the game in moderation; don't overplay it so you don't get tired and bored quickly. Some people complain that the songs get old, but hey, they did over 30 songs for the game, if the executives did every song in the universe to fit the game just to satisfy everybody's wants, then I wouldn't be writing this review because the game still wouldn't be out yet. Needless to say, they did the best job they could do on this game. The judges do look rather quirky, as well (especially Paula), but they did a pretty good job; not too shabby (to quote infamous AI4 contender Mary Roach), and it's DEFINITELY not a reason to buy this neat and entertaining game.
It's BY FAR one of the best and most fun GBA games out there!

How much I love this game and it's very exciting to play. I have only made it to the 6th round but after I finish the 6th round my singer is told by Simon that he/she ain't good enough and is voted out. Other times when my singer sings a song like Enrique Iglesias Escape and sings it real nice he/she is told by Paula "That Was Real Good Now Stop Being Nervous Okay". Now my singer wasn't being nervous at all and kept performing in the next round. The hardest songs to sing are Genie in a Bottle Ricky Martin's Livin La Vida Loca but i always sing Genie in a bottle when I play. Now my fave part of the game is the endurance round and ever since i got it I play that round first.,
Many thanks to my aunt who started me on my AI obsession and told me all about American Idol. I hope that you'll enjoy this game as much as I do,
Thank you for reading,
