Cute "Business" Game

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 11 / 12
Date: March 07, 2008

My 10-year-old daughter and I both really enjoyed this game. It takes a few mintues to figure out what you're supposed to be doing, but once you get the concept of buying puppies and increasing their value through grooming and training, it's a lot of fun to grow your business. There is a communications area where customers e-mail you with requests, and if you're sharing the game with someone else who is building their own business, you can e-mail them and visit their store, too. The puppies are cute, but I think that there could have been more graphics to give it a better "pet store" feel. Also, we have already maxed out our stores' growth potential after a few hours of play, but it's still fun to train and sell, or even start over with a new store.

Primitive!

I am a 56 year old grandmother who is hooked on my ds lite games. From the product description and the single review available on Amazon, I thought Puppy Palace would be more like the Paradise Pet Salon game I play on my computer. In fact, the graphics are very primitive, there is no interior of any pet store that you can actually see, and you do not have a character that interacts with any other characters.

If this game were to be rated by age, I would suggest it for a 6-year old. All you do is pet the puppy with your stylus to groom it and to praise it for doing a trick correctly -- and that always in the same location on your screen -- or "toss" a ball for it again with the stylus. THAT'S THE ENTIRE GAME! Doesn't seem like a good idea for your screen, and is definitely boring within a few minutes. You have no control over the puppy sales, that is done "invisibly" by your staff in that pet store that you will never see. PASS IT UP unless you are buying it for a 6 year old and can get it for $10 or less.

Fun, even for Mom

My daughter bought this game. I had to help her because she can not ready well yet. I got hooked on this game. Yes, like the other reviewer, the graphics are not great, but it is a fun game that you will go back to every day, if not more often. I recommend it.
