My favorite game ever! ^_^

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 9 / 9

Boktai is my favorite game series. I first got interested after playing MMBN4 because Otenko seemed like an interesting companion. The solar sensor is what makes people either love or hate the game. I thought it was a really neat idea because it gives the game sort of a more interactive feel. I'll go outside to play, and when I need to recharge my energy, I'll hold up my GBA SP in the same pose as Django. It's very fun. ^_^

The Piledriver in this one is more annoying than in the first because the boss will latch onto the generators and turn them off, so you have to knock it away from the generator as soon as it latches on while dodging its attack (it may not be a coincidence that my favorite purification in the game has no attacks, but it's tricky in its own way... play the game and you'll see why). One thing I really like is the characters and dialogue (ZOMG Django talks!). This is great compared to the first Boktai, which only had a total of six talking characters, four of which were bosses. Speaking of bosses, Boktai 2's final boss is much weirder and less annoying than that of Boktai 1 (and a lot easier for me to draw).

Most fans prefer Boktai 1 because of the gun, but that's another reason why I prefer this one. In the first one, the Gun Del Sol was your only weapon and it couldn't kill anything without using up energy. This one has different kinds of weapons that are more powerful with an enchantment (which uses energy), but still do damage without using up energy, making it easier to play in the dark.

My major gripe about the first one that was fixed here was the fact that Sabata (my favorite character, the purple-haired dude with the black gun) wasn't shown anywhere in the instruction booklet. In this one, he not only has a (very tiny) pic in the instructions, but is also on the box, which made me very happy. In the game, he has his own sprite and is no longer a Django recolor, and has a very nice mugshot.

Sabata is an important character, which is good because he's just so darn lovable. Even my cockatiel likes him (she once tried to preen a picture of him)! I can't wait to get Boktai 3, in which our purple-haired friend plays an even bigger role. ^_^

Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django......

In Boktai 2, you reprise your role as Django, the vampire hunter. Him and his trusy mentor, Otenko, have ended up in the town of San Miguel on their journey where they discover something called the 'undeadening' is threatening the place. Soon, he finds out that the immortals are nearby regaining their strength in numbers and that's where the story begins. Though, the game still has the twist of playing the game in the sunlight to defeat the immortals, the game is played quite differently this time around. Because of that, Boktai 2 feels like a totally brand-new game instead of a rehash of the first game. There's alot more backstory this time around in which you find out more about Django's family and the reason for his rivalry with Sabata among other things. Don't come into Boktai 2 expecting it to be a cakewalk like the first game, Boktai 2 is alot more challenging with it's puzzles and bosses. Almost to the point of becoming frustrating but not quite.

My biggest gripe with the first game was that it was too short. Thankfully, they fixed that this time around and made the game twice as long as the first.

Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django is a great sequel to the first game. It's a must-play for all the Gameboy Advance owners out there. I guarantee you'll like this series, even though playing in the sun might be a bother. I hope we see future iterations of this series on the Nintendo DS in some way. I'd like to delve more into the lives of Django, Sabata, and the immortals.

My point : i really like this game ! i like the whole kill and slay the vampire thing . I also really like having swords and making weapons out of others slashing boks to get your levels up! but also its sooo! hard you ask otenko and he tells you what to do but not exactly everything . i really like this game and i like playing multyplayer .

review: this game is awesome you play as a boy named django (you might see him in mmbn4 or 5 ) he is the solar boy and he controls the solar gun,gun del sol .anyway you return to his home town the city of the sun . but the "dark side" has taken over so you have to go to different places find the the boss kill him put him in a coffin take him to this one place where he dies and do this again . you can buy weapons make them sell them, shop around in the mall . you can also play outside and enjoy some of the features like restoring energy . play multyplayer with up to 4 friends and also withh mmbn5 and hunt down shade man .

May The Sun Be With you

i'm playing the game and on the east coast sunny days don't often i should have gotten the game in the summer...anyway this time around the overall gameplay isn't as linear as the first(more then one weapon, sun light is not absoulutely need)this time sometimes it's better to play in the dar k i won't spoil but fairly big shock this time around but the difficult factor is a little bit more forgiving with easy controls and fairly good graphics this game is a bit like Legend of zelda:link to the past, also the solar sennsor is a big gimmick in a good way(it does't use it as a support to cover up flaws in anyway)

I heard a lot about this game when I was in school. I thought it was some other funky way to play video games. When I bought the first Boktai used, i had a great time. Even though I beat it in 5 days, it was awsome. The second one though, incredible. I like games that have swords rather than games with guns, so the sword-axe-spear thing was cool. i live in San diego so there is A LOT of sun. I would go out every morning and have a blast. I you were looking for other peoples' opions, just look at my rating...

I bought this game for my 7 year old son

and we ended up arguing who should play it!!! Boktai 2 breaks my misconception that Gameboy Advance games are usually formulaic at best. The game combines Zelda-ish action RPG with irresistable fanboy themes of spaghetti westerns and vampire hunting. Add to that a very inventive solar element and inventive gameplay, I actually look forward and make some time to play it, as opposed to playing it because I'm just bored.

This is the first Boktai game I've played, and although knowing the backstory helps, the game guides you enough so you won't feel lost.

I must admit that my son is better at this game. But the addictive nature of Boktai 2 made me try hard (and admittedly, download a walkthrough) to finish it. It is satisfying and challenging, even for adults.

great game

Please do not buy this game, it may look fun but it's not. I bought it and it was fun, but if you die you have to pay 100-200 sol, if you run out of sol, you have to borrow from the dark loans. If you dont pay what you took times 8, youll have to go to the punishment room and press A rapidly depending on how much you took. I couldnt push it that many times cause i had 3000 sol to pay back and had to sell/start over. PLEASE, SPARE YOURSELF THE PAIN, TIME, AND EFFORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where did this come from?

I am really disappointed that I didn't pay more attention to the release of this game. It's been out since last summer and I thought it was still unreleased! Now it is in relatively short supply.

I was a big fan of the first game but I never played it much on account of me never being in direct sunlight. Anyway, it was a well crafted and fun to play game, I really enjoyed toasting those vampires with the Piledriver machine. I think I'll just have to snag this one up before it's gone. :p

The sequel to the super-fun Boktai: The sun is in your Hand, is AWESOME!!
However, instead of the GunDelSol, you will weild swords for most of your adventure. Plus the fun Megaman sidequest and items makes it even more fun. Too bad they haven't released Boktai3: Sabata's counter attack, (If I remember correctly) over here yet...Oh well, I recommend Boktai 1&2.
