Breath of Fire II is the best RPG ever!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 2

I have played every Breath of Fire there is and have beat every one... except II. This game is the best snes game on the market. The chararcters are awesome(Ryu, Katt,Bleu,Rand, and Spar) the others Sten, Jean Nina and Bow are cool too but the above are the best. Anyway, Breath of Fire II has the best story line of the four and is probably the most challengeing as well. If you like the seris or are just a flat out RPG fan, this is a must have. On a concluding note, in my opinion the Breath of Fire seris is better than the Final Fantasy seris and I love every one. Get It!

great game.

I started out by playing Breath of Fire III on playstation, loved it. BOF4 on playstation, loved it. got BOF 1 on gameboy advance, it was fun, but now BOF 2 disappointed the ... . I'm sorry, capcom, but maybe you should be more choosy when it comes to translating titles from platform to platform. Maybe this game would have held my attention, had i not bought Golden Sun. Breath of Fire 1 pales in comparison.

Dissapointing

I bought Breath of Fire 1 and I admit, it was one of the best experiences ever. It was fresh and innovative. The graphics could have been better, but it was still an epic adventure you can't miss. But little did I know, the second installment, I guessed would be the best game ever but I was mistaken, the graphics are worse and are reinforced by a terrible storyline not even relevant to the first. In fact the cinematics are poor and the battle sequences have done nothing but become more blurry and the special effects have dropped. What's happening? Never buy this game. honestly!

Another great Game Boy Advance RPG

Breath of Fire II is a spectacular example of what a good RPG should be. Rivaling Golden Sun for best RPG on the Game Boy Advance, I would highly reccomend this for any and all RPG fans. Breath of Fire II contains a great storyline, excellent battle system, and intriguing characters. An epic storyline and 20+ hour quest make this a great game to buy. Trust me: You won't regret adding this game to your GBA library.

Bof2 Review

Breath of fire two is definitely one of the better gameboy advancde games. The graphics are wonderful for a gameboy advance; there is color, you have day and night and much more. At the begining the story is a bit slow but it picks up eventually. Eventually in the game you even get to build your own town which makes it much more interesting and you get to chose who you want to invite. The battle system has been improved and is easy to use. Overall Bof2 is an excellent game and a must for all serious gameboy advance players.

I was first introduced into the BOF universe with Breath of Fire 2 for the Super Nintendo. Having played it, I can honestly say it was a brilliant game. An absolute classic that any true RPG fan should play. Now that it's been released for the Gameboy Advance, I can honestly say it's even better than brilliant. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking this isn't an awesome game. It's worthy of hardearned bucks. True, it may not be as good looking as Golden Sun, but it will keep you occupied for quite awhile with its' gameplay and storyline. This is, clearly, the best game in the series(in my personal opinion). Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed with this one. It was one of the better RPGs on the SNES and it is also one of the better ones for the GBA as well.
I do hope that Capcom will continue the Breath of Fire series on the Gameboy Advance. BOF 3 and 4 would definitely look good on the handheld...

GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

I bought this game a few years ago for the SNES after playing BOF1. I was looking for more of that wonderful gameplay in the first classsic game. I was terribly disappointed and I endorse the comments of the other reviewer from Valencia, CA USA. I quote them immediately below.

*******************
"The sequel to one of the best rpg games with the best story line is a total and complete flop. breath of fire 2 does not follow anything even remotly like a story and is not in any way realated to the first game.the game should have had some thing to do with defeating Tyr after she comes back at the end of Breath of Fire 1. the fighting is different and when i tried to select a enemy to fight out of 3 enemies, i ended up shooting myself. what is probably the worst part about fighting is when you meet a new enemy. you can't see how much health they have so it is frustarating not knowing how long until you kill them. the graphics are horrible and are worse than any game i have ever played. the hunting in this game is extremly disipointing and you spend the time waiting for a deer or boar to come out of the grass. if you are looking for a good RPG, play Breath of Fire 1 or Golden Sun"
*********************

Additionally, the storyline (what there is of it) is horrid. It is not even a true sequel, but seems to be an attempt by the company to simply capitalise on the success of the first without too much effort. In short people. Do NOT buy this game.
