Disney and Jellyvision have done it again - better than ever

The best Millionaire CD yet! Sure, it's the same game but this one has more questions than before, Regis and the Phone A Friends are really funny (Thanks, Jellyvision!) and they've fixed the Fastest Finger so it plays like the show. It kind of sucks that it's only two players but at least it captures what it's like on the show. Plus, downloads are a nice addition and it was pretty easy to do. Viva Regis!

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Third Edition was one of the last editions for the P.C. made with Regis Philbin. Still, he still has his zany and enduring way with handling people made him a very big hit with audiences all over the U.S.A. It is just a shame that he is no longer hosting Millionaire anymore. Instead, one of the people from The View is taking over. Unbelieveable, isn't it.

What makes Who Wants To Be A Millionaire different, the third time around, is that the questions are a little bit more complex. Not only that, but if you go to a certain website, you can download new question patches to play all about Millionaire. Unfortunately, those patches that you can download, contain only 15 questions anyway in the main seat, but in the fast finger category, there are more. I really enjoyed spending time with the game, it is just a shame that it isn't fun anymore like it was in primetime on ABC.

The reason why I'm giving it a 3, is because the only way I could've won the million, is because I downloaded the patches from the net. If you want to be a millionaire, I suggest you buy this game. You're not going to win a real million, it is just a game. If you're also a fan of Regis Philbin, I also suggest you get this too, final answer.

COULD BE BETTER,BUT OK...

WELL,TO BE HONEST I LIKED THE 2ND EDITION BEST,MOVED FASTER,MORE MUSIC,AND REGIS SOUNDED HAPPY! NOW THE 3RD EDITION...THE QUESTION SETS ONLY HAVE **ONLY** 15 QUESTIONS IN A SET...SO PRETTY MUCH A ONE TIME PLAY,THEN WHEN THE MENU SCREEN COMES UP,CLICK "DOWNLOAD NEW QUESTIONS",IT SAY TO GO TO THE ABC MILLIONAIRE SITE,BUT THERE IS ABSOULUTELY NO WAY TO THE QUESTION SET DOWNLOAD PAGE! I GUESS I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST TO GRAB THIS GAME,IT TOOK BVI 2 WEEKS TO LINK THE QUESTION SET DOWNLOAD PAGE TO THE MAIN BVI (BUENA VISTA INTERACTIVE) WEB-SITE,SO I ENDED UP HAVING TO E-MAIL TECH-SUPPORT TO FIND IT,NOW SEVERAL MONTHES AFTER THE GAME IS OUT,STILL NO WAY TO FIND THE QUESTION SETS FOR THIS GAME ON THE PAGE THEY TELL YOU TO GO TO,THE ONLY WAY ON EARTH TO GET THEM IS TO GO TO bvinteractive.com,FOR EVERYONE OUT THEY HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS I HAD! NOW BACK TO FEATURES FOR THIS GAME,THEY ELIMINATED SOME OF THE SOUND EFFECTS,ONLY TO MAKE YOU FEEL LESS LIKE YOU'RE ON THE SHOW,THE DUM-DUM THING BETWEEN QUESTIONS,REPLACED BY A SWOOSHING SOUND,AND THE 50/50 SOUND,THE FASTEST FINGER ON ALL THE GAMES ARE BASICALLY WORTHLESS,COMMON! HOW CAN YOU FIT 2 PEOPLE AROUND A KEYBOARD,AND HECK! THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE FASTEST FINGER MUSIC! THEY GOT SOME OTHER STUFF NOT EVEN IN THE SHOW! AND THE 3RD EDITION COMMENTARY BY REGIS IS DULL,IT SOUNDS LIKE HE'S FALLING ASLEEP...I EXPECTED HIM TO START SNORING ANYTIME SOON! AND SO MANY STOPS BETWEEN THE FIRST ROUND QUESTIONS,UNLIKE THE SHOW,BUT THEY GOT A NEW INTRO (VERY GRAINY AND DIFFICULT TO HEAR),AT LEAST THE QUESTIONS DON'T REPEAT AS MUCH! THATS A START,BUT DON'T THEY SEEM MUCH EASIER ON TV,THE $500 QUESTIONS COULD BE A $500,000 QUESTION ON TV. AND WHERE DID JELLYVISION GO ON THIS ONE?! I BET IF THEY WERE ASOCIATED WITH THIS VERSION,I BET IT COULD OF BEEN ALOT BETTER,GRAPHICS NEVER CHANGE! SAME AS ALL THE OTHERS! THEY COULD OF AT LEAST FINISHED THE STUDIO! A BLACK BACKGROUND...AS I RECALL,THE TV SHOW HAD A FULL STUDIO... WELL ANYWAY,WWTBAM 3 COULD USE SOME WORK,BUT IT'S STILL MY FAVORITE PC GAME,I STILL RECOMMEND THE 2ND EDITION,BUT IF YOU ARE JUST IN IT FOR THE QUESTIONS,AND NOT THE MUSIC OR SET,ETC. THE 3RD EDITION IS FOR YOU.

THANKS FOR READING MY REVIEW!

They keep getting better!

The new Millionaire is the best one. Problems with too few questions on the first and second one are resolved now since you get downloads too. Regis is great, as always and now the Fastest Finger is like the show - not like the boneheaded way they did it on the first two. Cool game

No Team Play 3rd Edition

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 3 / 6

I just bought the 3rd edition of Who Wants to be a Millionaire 3/01/02. I was very disappointed because there was no team play and no real "play against a friend" game other than the 'fastest finger' part of the game. I thought I would be able to play the question part of the game against friends. The downloadable questions are a big disappointment because you only get about 15 questions for each new set so once you've played one game with them, you may as well delete the set. When the screen pans out to the money amount section between each question, well, this gets to be old quite fast and is annoying. The game would be more enjoyable without this. One last comment, I think the items used in "the fastest finger" part of the game are generally way too hard for the general population.

great game

This game has it all, not only can you get 600 new questions that are in the game, but you can download new questions from the internet, pretty cool huh because i've play the internet version and i didn't even got to the 32000 dollar level (i got to the 8000 dollar question) i think the questions will be either easy or hard If you do have internet then go to abc.com go to the millonare site and you might see new downloadable questions on the site If you buy the game, i recommend that you first see all the 600 questions then download from the site I don't have game yet but i read the preview in a magazine and i think it's pretty cool now that you won't get the same questions over and over and over To close this review i have just one thing to say: Disney Inter active has sure done it again unlike the 2nd edition the 3rd is even better maybe even more

The best millionare game ever!

Let me get this straight. I like all 3 editions of Millionare. However, this one is the best, because of the ability to download new questions! As for the first 2 editions the questions run out fast. As a matter of fact, the second day I played the First Edition, the questions were already repeating.

The Fastest Finger has improved too. It is now a 2-player duel and this time you must put the answers in order yourself faster than the other player. It is harder and FF questions run out in no time, but I lkike a challenge.

The Leaderboard has improved too. It now shows the top money winners of all time!

If you liked the first two editions of Millionare, you'll love this one! Believe me, it is worth the [money] to get an unlimited supply of questions!

Works on a Windows Vista Computer

I bought this game for my Mom on her Birthday this year. I originally bought the Platinum Edition , which contained Millionaire 1st and 2nd editions , but neither of them would play on her new computer with the Vista operating system.
After emailing support at Buena Vista games , they stated that they will not be producing any upgrades or patches for those editions , but that the 3rd edition ( and the sports' edition) are compatible with Vista.
They are correct. Although there are some funky quirks while it is loading (with the sound stuttering on and off) on a Vista computer , once loaded it runs just fine. There are no problems on my XP system -- didn't even need a patch like I did with the first two editions.
If you are a Millionaire fan , this game is quite enjoyable , especially with the added question sets from the developer's site.
