I dunno. The horses are cool, they're really pretty and have great graphics and I like the scavenger hunt.....but this can't compare to Let's Ride. Let's Ride rocks! I have every single Let's Ride cd and the best two are the Rosemond Hill Collection and Equestriad 2001. The rest are just....you know. And Mary King's Riding Star isn't too good. It is really realistic, and you get to groom your horse and everything, but besides that there's not much to do. You can do competitions and everything, but they aren't very fun at all.
Overall, the horse game on this cd isn't very good. The competitions you get in aren't fun at all, really. It just didn't amuse me that much.
For anyone who is thinking of getting Equestriad 2001, get it! It is majorly awesome. It is probably one of the best horse games I have ever played. So if you do get it, here's two cheats (I'm not sure what the first one does) MR HAPPY and NEW YEARS EVE
Thanks!

Championship Season is a pretty good game, but not all of its points are perfect-some good and some bad. Anyway, I'll get to the good stuff first, then the bad stuff.

Good stuff: There are many interactive things to do at the stables like looking after the horses, a treasure hunt, and earning horse credits. The horses look realistic and act realistic somewhat. The events are fun especially the show jumping and when you're in the practice area (where you learn how to control the horse,) you can ride around and practice a little for the events.

Bad Stuff: What ticks me off is that there's only four horses in the game (Barney, Thistle, Taffy, and Blaze.) Plus there's a goat, but you really can't do anything with it. The levels 4 and 5 are impossible to do perfectly and in dressage, you lose most of your points when straying off just a tad. If you fall off alot during show jumping and cross country, it gets pretty annoying. What really makes me mad is that you can't edit the name, color, or level of any the horses. Nor pick a horse you want to ride until you have enough horse credits.

However, the game is pretty fun. I also recommend Horse Racing by Radishworks, it's fun, but all the black horses aren't really black, some are dark bay.

Warning! Don't get Let's Ride and Barbie's Race and Ride! These games aren't realistic nor fun (to me anyway.) In Let's Ride, you actually have to listen more about the riding than actually doing it, in other words, you don't really ride the horse. The horses look cartoony and the graphics are poor. The dressage is impossible, show jumping is ok, and cross country is a bit difficult for you bump into the jumps than jump over them. In Barbie, the horses are all mares, you can tell because of the HUGE eyelashes. The horses aren't realistic nor is the care of the horses.

I'm getting Equestriad 2001, I heard it's the best game! I also recommend Willowbrook Stables, but you have to have a good game card plus some of the clues you get are impossible to solve!

It's hard to say. It's one of the best horse games compared to others (Let's Ride and Barbie Riding Club). The course is weird on how you play. It's almost a bird's eye view. Also, they don't help you with jumps, etc. So you get to a jump but maybe your to close or far so you horse refuses or dumps you. That cane be annoying. The best part of the whole game was really the stables. The stables were the fanicest I have ever seen in a while. They were much more interactive, plus there were little games (a scavenger hunt) here and there the kept it interesting. Unfortunately, I can really only say that the riding part of the game stunk. And I don't think everyone is out to buy a horse game just for excellent stables!
If you want a REAL good horse game, I recommend Equestriad 2001 (Serious Horseplay). Though that game does not have any stables (you only do Dressage, Cross-Country, and Show Jumping) they have a variety of horse coats to choose from. Also, the courses are excellent and a good challenge! I've had the game for 4 years and still play it!
Anyway, as this is a review for Horse Illustrated and NOT Equestriad 2001 (Serious Horseplay), I will end it here.

Could have made much better!

This game was interesting for the first few weeks then I got to the 5 level and it wasn't fun anymore. They could of made it more exciting, which they didn't. The good things are that you can jump which is really exciting. The bad things are that theres only 4 horses and you can't do anything to them, also they are really slow.Another reason is I wish you could put leg wraps on and bell boots or splints on the horses. If anyone finds a game that you can jump and do other stuff please do a reveiw on it because i love jumping in real life on my friends Thoroughbred and competing in events around where i live.THankz

This game is interesting until you beat all the levels and set all the high scores or time records. After that, this game is very POINTLESS! Unless you are getting this for a youngster, BEWARE!

I think this game is great. I had a little trouble in the cross-country at first, but then I found you had to jump farther away from the jump than in the show jumping.
It's very addictive, and if I start playing it, I'll play it for hours.
Dressage is kind of boring, but it's not like you have to do that...
I would recommend this game.

So what if there are only four horses??? If you know WHERE to jump, you won't fall off! This game is so great...... It's hard not to love it because there are these dumpy other ones (i.e. Barbie Riding Club - ugh - and Let's Ride).
I haven't tried Willowbrook but everyone's crazy about it. Farnam Rodeo is great... So's Horseracing. Is Mary King Riding Star good? I dunno.... This game does crash my computer but I LUV it anyway!!! It's really worth it if you want a great horse sim. Can't say anymore now! See ya!

Good game, most of the fun is in the stables.
there's a scavenger hunt that's fun and their's trivia questions.
you can feed, water, clean out stalls, groom & tack up your horse. My 7yr. old niece loved it and learned a lot from it!
But for true horse lovers the ultimite horse game is WILLOWBROOK STABLES!!!!! This game is AWESOME!!!
It is so real like! You can gallop through water jump fences and logs and hedges everywhere!!
You can ride ANYWHERE on the whole Island, plus solve a mystery!

Three Day Eventing game

I hope we're talking about the Farnam Three Day Eventing game. Anyway, this game is AUESOME!I got mine for 15.00 and I love it. It's worth the money. But...
Downpoints:

Only four horses. Only five levels. You can't change the way you or the horses look.Example: No blondes riding a leopard Appaloosa. The horses don't act differently from each other. Can't name the horses. No trail rides in this game.

Goodpoints:

The horses aren't slow. Fun trivia questions. A VERY fun treasure hunt. Fun jumping. Up to eight friends can play with you. Fun looking at all the things in the tack room.

note: I cannot find out how to compete against the computer. This game is good for a person who likes to go on the computer for ten minutes just playing a quick horsey game.Stay away from Farnam Rodeo. BIG waste of money!
