I usually don't leave comments but I had to for this one.

I have enjoyed Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, Endless Ocean, and Wii Sports. I don't know about this one. I just bought it today an I play a good 3 hours. I have mixed feelings about this one. I like games that make you think but this is a strange game. I was very excited by all the good reviews but I didn't have as much fun playing this Bloom Box as I have with other I named above.

Although I would play this game again some other day I don't look forward to play it as much as Mario Kart. It is a slower game that takes time. It gives me the feeling like I am playing Solitare. Listen, if you are thinking about getting this game I suggest you spend the 5 bucks and rent it before buying. I agree with the other guy/gal that said that this game should have been priced at 20 bucks.

I am giving it 4 stars because I do think that this game is very original. It is will made! Also, I believe it has potential as a 2 player game.

Awesome!!!!!!!

This is the neatest game! I haven't really found anything like it before and it's highly addictive (the first time I played it, 5 hours flew right by)! The price is high, but worth every penny. I think I got my money's worth the last two days already. Some reviews have said that the graphics aren't the best...I disagree. The animal characters are cute and funny. I don't really think the graphics are supposed to be that high tech anyway...the blocks are the most important thing. I think this game is great for all ages. Some of the moves are tricky, but who wants a game that you can master in one day. The blocks actually fall like real blocks. During the two player game, one of the blocks got "stuck". It really got stuck and it took several tries to get it out. It was so life-like! If you love puzzles-this game is for you!

Great fun!

I bought this the day after it came out and played it as soon as I got home, at first I thought it was going to be too easy when I waass playing hte "demo" Training mode, (You must do this to unlock the first set of games) but once you atrat playing each level gets more and more difficult, I was trying to get gold on each level and ran into one I had to repeat several time sbefore I even got a bronze.... this is so much fun and great for all ages (my 5 year old Grandson is going to love it as much as I do)
This game rocks....

Great puzzle game for Wii

Just rented this game and had to buy it asap. Engaging and addictive game that makes great use of the Wii mote capabilities. Physics engine is amazing. Speaking of which, this means the game would likely be frustrating for kids younger than elementary school age. Not often you get a game that a middle age mom and hardcore gaming kids can all enjoy.

I was Skeptical at First...

but then I rented this and LOVED it. I didn't think this kind of game could be worth $50, but I now think it is. If you aren't sure, rent it and you will then have an urge to buy it.

My wife was watching us play and decided to give it a try, she got distracted from the real game to just spend the time hitting the animals with the tennis ball. It was hilarious.

The actual game is inventive and fun for all skill levels. It's fun in party mode and by yourself.

On a side note, I haven't found any of the levels that look like those in the pictures above, so I assume they need to be unlocked. I really hope those aren't just promo photos and they aren't really in the game. But I have only been playing for a few hours.

Again, rent it if your skeptical, you won't regret it.

best muti-generational game for gamers and non-gamers ever.

With the exception of the shooting mode, this is a perfect game.
Much of the game is turned-based, so for many games you can share a single controler for 4 people. The turned based portion of the game enables very young and very old players to compete with even hard-core gamers and still have fun(and hard core gamers can enjoy the game also).
It is great to have a game that I can play with my 78y/o father and my 5y/o son.
It works because anyone can smash blocks, and everyone thinks they can do it well, but those with better skills can take the game to a higher level.

great for parties and spouses

If you love video games but your wife/husband won't touch them -- this is the game for you. This is the kind of game that both you and your spouse will enjoy playing together. It's also the best party game for the Wii available to date.

The "most helpful" review nails it. Boom Blox is extremely intuitive so is very approachable to even those who've never played a video game before. It's very cute, very fun, and makes excellent use of the unique Wii controllers.

The concept is so simple, it's amazing no one has done it before. (The concept works better with Wii controllers so maybe it couldn't have been done well prior to the Wii.) In a nutshell, it's like playing with children's blocks. Make a tower of blocks then take turns throwing marbles at it to knock it down. Or play Jenga -- see how many blocks you can remove before the structure crumbles. Or shoot it with a water hose. Or blow it up with a bomb. Or swing some blocks like a wrecking ball to try to knock down the big towers. Or build a castle fort and try to destroy your opponent's forts. There are dozens of different styles of games all around the theme of structures made up of differently shaped blocks. There are also a handful of shooting gallery games thrown in for good measure.

The game has solo modes including an "adventure", multiplayer competitive modes, and multiplayer cooperative modes. Some modes are great, some are only good, but they're all interesting and fun. Though some modes or levels are initially locked, the majority are unlocked out of the box. (This made for a great party gaming experience, as we were able to try out dozens of 2-4 player modes right away.) The tutorial mode is also very well done and teaches you the basics inside of 2 minutes, but you don't even need it; even non-gamers will understand how to play this game intuitively.

Why only 4 stars? While hard-core gamers can definitely enjoy this game, it doesn't have a lot of depth or breadth and is a bit too simple to be one of my favorites. Boom Blox was a bigger hit as a party game than Mario Party 8, but the latter has a wider variety of mini games so might last longer.

BOOM BLOX is a BLAST!!!

This game is very creative and great fun by yourself or in a group of 4. Making your own levels is a great addition that will make the game last long after you finish all of the pre-made levels. A must buy for Wii owners.

Fun filled game. A different puzzle around every corner. My 7 y/o enjoys it and can actually play it with satisfaction. If he messes up, he just tries it again. Watch the video/trailer or do a Google search for reviews. Great family game, not a steep learning curve. Can create and upload your levels to registered Wii friends, or, of course, they can send to you as well. The previous 3 reviews are very accurate.

Easier & Harder than it looks

The concept is easy, the execution starts easy... then gets harder. Good puzzles. Very rewarding when you finally solve a new level. I love this game.

There is a learning curve. The only problem is that it's hard to share with someone new to Wii.
