Surprisingly Good

Being that this is a "budget" title, I was not expecting a fantastic game compilation here but I have to admit I was quite surprised at how well this pack performed. It has a LOT to offer and is a nice alternative to Clubhouse Games or Touchmaster in it's offerings.
It comes packed with 4 games plus 6 versions of solitaire.
Here is what I know of them from playing this the last several nights for hours on end....

Block Breaker Deluxe: this is like Arkanoid. It's really good but somewhat bland in it's appearance. Maybe I am spoiled after playing Nervous Brickdown (another Arkanoid clone) but this game lacks the flashy graphics. Nonetheless, Block Breaker still has solid gameplay, stylus control with great accuracy, and some bonus elements to it's game that you wont find elsewhere.

Midnight Bowling: This is the one I cant stop playing. I really enjoyed the stylus controlled bowling on Clubhouse Games but where THAT game lacked, this one so very abundantly makes up for. This Midnight version is completely stylus controlled, allowing you to control the speed, direction, and spin on your ball. The characters actually walk up and throw the ball, you get alternate views of the alley and players, and even several playback options if you just love watching that great move you just did. ;) This also offers different ball weights & colors, several distinctly different bowling alleys, a variety of players (male and female, with voices also), different outfits for the players, different strengths & weaknesses for the players, tournaments, and so much more. I cant believe how much this game offers. In it's own right, it could be the sole reason you purchase this game pack and you would not be disappointed. I love it.

Platinum Solitaire: This is a very good solitaire collection including the following games...Klondike, Golf, Pyramid, FreeCell, Yukon, and Spider Solitaire. I have only played the first 3 of those listed but they are fantastic in that the cards are quite big for a DS screen (bigger by far than Solitaire Overload or Clubhouse Games), and very clear & easy to see. If anyone has impaired vision and wants to play solitaire on the DS, this game is the one you must get, for sure! Anyway, I really enjoy the fact it has just basic solitaire play but also a Casino mode that allows you to earn virtual cash in the games that you can use to unlock more casinos to play in. The colors and backgrounds are beautiful, too. This adds a further challenge and sense of accomplishment for awarding you medals for certain moves in games (such as playing a number of cards correctly in a row, or certain combinations of cards or many other things). This is a delight to play, especially the harder to find Golf and Pyramid versions of solitaire.

Midnight Pool: This is certainly the best billiards game the DS has to offer. If you have played button controlled ones like Underground Pool, or stylus controlled ones like Clubhouse Games, you will find that this takes the best elements of those and enhances them tremendously, making for a well rounded game. Midnight pool is completely stylus controlled, allowing you to line up your shots (with or without a line to show you where the ball will go), you can change the english on the ball, or whatever else you would like (I am a basic player so I just shoot the ball where I want without tweaking it). The game plays well and is easy enough to really enjoy, but where it lacks a bit is in the overhead view where it shows the whole table, things are a bit small so that makes it hard to see. But when you go to make your shots, it brings you down on the table with a first person view so you can aim extremely accurately. Considering this pool game is part of a compilation, it is abundantly adequate. It also offers tournaments, multiple players to choose from and play against, and so very much more.

Midnight Hold'Em Poker: I have not played through a full game of this yet because I have been so engrossed in the above mentioned ones, but I did at least take the time to do a quick play through it for this review, and I will let you know that this has great graphics, voiced characters, a variety of options, and tournament play. My short game of it called to mind the Majesco version of Texas Hold 'Em for DS, as this seems a LOT like that. I love poker, and I intend to play this more, but at least what I know of this Midnight version of it so far, it looks great.

Another thing I need to mention is that several of these games also offer wireless (not wi-fi) game play against any friends you may have who also own a copy of this game.

In closing, I have to say I love this game compilation. It was a solid investment (you definitely cant go wrong considering it's price!!). It's really just plain fun and very hard to put down! :) I'm definitely very happy that I bought this.

This came only yesterday and it is a kick!! I really just wanted to play Freecell like I used to do when I was at work...But now I'm retired and I missed it.
Now the Freecell game is very nice, but I was surprised at how much I am enjoying the other games.
Pool is great, with nice graphics and realistic AI opponents; as is Bowling.
But I think my favorite is Texas Holdem' Poker. It is just like real and I lose just like Real !!
Buy this game, you'll like it!!

Super fun!

Games lack polish, like they were thrown together to meet a deadline. Cut scenes involving an animated casino hostess unnecessary.

5 games in one. all are fun to play.
