This is definitely not a tuner game...

As my title states, this is definitely NOT a tuner game. As the guy below obviously makes this point clear, it is however a good game nonetheless...

If however you are a huge fan of the Need For Speed Series like I am, then this is definitely for you.

If you loved playing Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, you'll love this game.

There are some tuning abilities in this game, you can purchase upgrades such as pre-made body kits, 1 layer vinyls (drastically reduced from, what was it, 4 layers in Underground 2?), paint, performance, all of the basics and very limited tuning options, and quite an extensive choice of exotics or tuners to choose from. Also, drifting has been cut but drag racing has been stepped up a notch in this game. It's ALOT tougher than it use to be.

One of the best things of this game is the cops. From there endless, almost never repeating radio chatter, to their crazy tactics of level 5+ heat chase, you'll be loving them as well as hating them as they take away your prized possession, your career car! Don't get me wrong, you can have more than one career car, but if you don't win pink slips, you're going to be stuck buying a new car. It never happened to me though! Get out of jail free cards are the best...

This past weekend I went on a playing binge due to snow, and it took me just about 3 days of almost non-stop playing to beat the career mode 100%, but that's not even including the Challenges option in the main menu though. I can not wait to play this game over x-box live.

Overall, I believe this is a great game, however don't come in to this thinking its going to be Need For Speed Underground 3, it'll be more "Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 3." This past weekend I went on a playing binge due to snow, and it took me just about 3 days of almost non-stop playing to beat the game 100%. EA has gone back to their roots with this game.

Not a sim, and not NFSU 3 but still a good game

OK lets get something straight about this game
# 1. It is not NFS:U 3!
This game is NOT about the racing, it is about the chases.
Get your car tuned the way you like it and avoid accidents
and walls and the races are easy to beat.
# 2. This is NOT a simulation !
Running roadblocks, getting rammed head on by Rhino SUV's,
colliding with other cars and walls at 200+ mph, if this were
a true 'simulation' there would be no 'BUSTED' vid clips
because the only thing to bust would be a greasy smear on the
pavement. An all inclusive physics engine would be
impractical for this kind of game and shouldn't be expected.
# 3. Still an EXCELLENT game !
While I do miss all of the tuning options from NFS:U 2 that
game is all about the racing and excells within that scope.
But as I said NFS:MW is all about the chases, plotting escape
routes, and avoiding all of the insane tactics the cops throw
at you is at times a huge challenge and I love every second
of it. The reason I gave the game a 4 instead of a 5 is
because it should have Day/Night driving during the day all
the time does get old after a while plus I think nighttime
chases with limited visibility could make the game more
interesting.

WARNING!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

THIS IS A HORRIBLE GAME. NOT ONLY HORRIBLE BUT MISLEADING. I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I HEARD THIS GAME WAS COMING OUT. SO EXCITED THAT I BOUGH THE BLACK EDITION. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!!! I COULD GRIPE ON AND ON ABOUT THIS GAME BUT TO START OFF..... THIS IS NOT A STREET RACING GAME. THERE ARE HARDLY ANY TUNER CARS. NO CIVIC, NO INTEGRA, NO RSX, NO 240SX, NO CELICA, NO 350Z, NO SKYLINE, THATS RIGHT NO SKYLINE!!!!! THERE IS NO REPLAY, IT NEVER GETS DARK, ALL THE RACING IS IN THE DAY. THE SOUNDTRACK SUCKS. YOU CAN'T CUSTOMIZE BODY KITS.

EA, YOU HAVE CHEATED US BIG TIME... BIG TIME!!!!! IF I COULD GO BACK IN TIME HAVE THE CHOICE OF EITHER BREAKING MY LEGS OR BUYING THIS GAME, I WOULD HAVE DEFINITLY BROKEN MY LEGS. IF YOU DON'T HAVE NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGROUND 2, BUY THAT, IF YOU ALREADY HAVE IT, BUY IT AGAIN CAUSE IT WOULD BE SMARTER THAN BUYING THIS GAME.

Awesome and Creative

THE GAME IS OUTSTANDING...best car simulation I have seen in a long time.

The x-box performs to it's limit on this one..

Well, first off this game is NOT a simulation.

Whoever wrote the review above is a moron.
You want to know what a Simulation is, a simulation is something that replicates the "real thing."
I'm sorry, you compare Microsoft's Forza Motorsport to NFS MW, there is a major difference between the two.
Forza Motorsport "Is" a Simulation game, Need for Speed Most Wanted is an "Arcade game"
Simulators are designed to train people such as militants before they execute the real deal.
Forza is designed on a Physics system, kinda like how Half-Life 2 is built on a simulating "Physics System" that replacates things that can react the same in a "Real World Environment"
Arcade games however do not.
They are simply a game that mimics real world environment and manipulates it, being able to do things that really couldn't happen in real life.
This game is horrible if you compare it to Forza Motorsport, though I will give it credit since it is a kick ass Arcade game.
But since I own Forza Motorsport now, I see NFS a Drink Coaster.

That is all

I love this game. It's a blast to race in and to drive around. But I still find that NFSU...the first one...had a lot more excitement and fun in it. Even though MW is a blast, it no where compares to NFSU. I do love the free roam. I believe free roam should be a must in any game. To be able to take your modified ride and just cruise around...that's nice indeedy! =) But MW is an extremely well-made game with a good amount of attention to detail. For NFS fans, I highly recommend it. If you haven't bought NFSU part 1 yet, I recommend it first.

Better Than regular edition; BUT!!!!!

I have all the need for speed games as well as 6 working consoles ; this is great for the x-box ,however if you go by the guide or read the hype it has about 10 or so ,very good cars "Automatic" from the jump meaning beginning of the game Yes;BUT ;only in exhibition or proper term Quick race mode ,SO WHAT!! Also if you have a 360 It makes this puppy look like it was made on the ps2 ,the graphics are off the hook on the 360 !!! this is OK FOR THE X-Box and the dvd is cool since it does have the very fine Josie Maran / i would say this is a cool collectors set for the X-box ONLY ,i wished it had been made for the 360...But yes it is a lot of fun and much better than the tedious NFSU2.. AND ; yes it is true if you have a NFSU2 game save on your X ,then yes you get an automatic 10 grand to help with a car purchase or parts :-) That Is All..

it took a while
