Cutie kart racing at its finest.

There are so many games out there, that it is hard to find a game that breaks the traditional mold of its genre. From the many Street Fighter spin-offs to the Mario Kart mascot racing,... one could say, "If you've played one, you've played them all." Not true. Konomi Krazy Racers adds a few spices to the standard recipe.

Racing begins just like every other Mascot Racer. You sit on the track , waiting for some franchised symbol to tell you when to go. Since Konomi does not have a major mascot, you will not recognize any of the surroundings or characters. The racing engine is similar to Wacky Wheels (PC - 1993). As you zoom around the track, you pick up offensive weaponry. This consists of ice crystals, bombs, and rockets. You race around the track in a predetermined number of laps, usually 3. This is pretty much the standard.

Krazy Racers does mix things up by added a store where you can purchase weapons and kart upgrades prior to the race. There are also two new battle games. The first one is Bomb Chaser. Bomb Chaser reminds me of playing tag as a child. You zoom around in your kart, until you crash into someone, causing the bomb you are carrying to explode. Once you crash into someone, you no longer carry the bomb, and that person is essentially "IT". The other battle game is Chicken. This is your basic chickie run, as you zoom toward the edge of a cliff, dock, or whatever the stage theme is. The closer you are to the edge without going over, the better your chance of winning.

There really is not much to tell about the environment in this game. You have your standard kart themes, Open air prairie, big lake... if you have played Super Mario Kart, you already know the type. I was impressed by the reflection of the sky on the water. This is the first time that I have seen this done in any kart racer. It is a good attention to detail.

I can not complain about the game play on Konami Krazy Racers. Control fits the standard, Jump, Accelerator, Brake, and Item. This is an easy to learn racer because it does not require you to learn to jump and turn, but jump is placed there simply for a defensive tactic. You can also use the jump for advance racing, but the game's formula does not require this.

Altogether, I am pleased to see a change in kart racing. I highly recommend this game to gamers of all ages. I would go as far as to say, minus the battle mode featured in Super Mario Super Circuit, this is a better game.

This game was challenging even for a 10 yr old like me. My Mom cleaned my room and threw it out and I never completed the 3rd Liscense Test.

I was so excited when I first bought this game. I raced home, popped it into my GBA played it for about 15 minutes, got up, and left to go do something else. I love Mario Kart, and if your reading this review about Krazy Racers I'm sure you've played it and like it too, and thats what Krazy racers is, a copy of Mario Kart, only 10x worse. Somehow, there isn't much track variety. Sure you'll go from an ice level to a space level to a stadium, bit some how, all the tracks just don't differ much from each other, in difficulty or anything. The characters, unless you've dedicated your long lasting life to Konami, chances are you probably won't know a whole bunch of them. The weapons are basically the same as in Mario Kart, just slightly different, blue rocket, red rocket, drill, and junk like that. The gameplay, well, for me did not do all that much. I was never in a moment where I had sweat dripping down my forehead with my palms sweating loosing grip of the controller and worrying that on the final lap if I don't win first I'll have game over and won't make it to the Super Cup. I never had one of those moments like I did in Mario Kart, the whole game just didn't pull me in. Graphics, good. Ok, my advice, please wait for Mario Kart Circuit, it should be a lot better with more famaliar characters for everybody(hopefully), and an overall better game. But this whole review is just my opinion. Game on.

It's like Mario Kart, but it's not

When I first saw this game, all I could think of was Konami making their version of Mario Kart. The idea wasn't really original. All they did was change the courses, items, and sub in Goemon, Dracula, and The Ninja, for Mario, Bowser, and Luigi. The game itself isn't half bad though. The graphics aren't too spectacular, but they're not bad, the play control is standard for a racing game, and the music is a little awkward. The action isn't as fun as that of Mario Kart Super Circuit. Mario's got this beat on every level. The only thing saving this game is that it is a fun game. Problem is, it's in the shadow of a better cart game.

when i heard that the Game-Boy Advance was comming out soon i rushed to the shops and bought the lastest issue of nintendo magasine.i saw that it was being released on the 22nd june... i imediatly began plotting what i was going to get... Crazy Racers fell into my 'MUST BUY GAMES' catorgory because i saw that it had amazingly cartoon like graphics, many multiplayer options, the oportunity to upgrade your vehichle,8 cool characters to choose from and tons of wicked cources. i would rate this game 5 stars because it is the best game out on GBA and will probably stay that way... Maximus...

This really is a great game. When I got it I just thought it might be a regular kart racing game, but it's much better than that. It is a clone of Mario Kart, but since Mario Kart's not out yet this is a must have.

The graphics are amazing. I was surprised at how nice it all looked. All the animations are smooth, and the landscape rotation and movement is seamless. It has good sound effects as well.

The play's the thing though, and it really shines at this. The game is fast and fun, and playing it with different characters will change the difficulty. It also has a "licensing" system where after you win a course you take tests to unlock later courses. Some of the multiplayer modes are interesting too, like the "chicken" race where you see who can stop closest to a cliff.

While I'll be first in line to pick up Mario Kart, this is a great game to play while waiting for it. If Mario Kart were out I don't know if I'd recommend this over MK, but since it isn't out be sure to pick this game up, you won't regret it.

This game is great! It has great graphics. Although I like Mario Kart better this game is still great. I would give it a 9/10 rating It is a great game. It is amazing to me because all that amazing graphics can all show up on nintendo's GBA's tiny screen.

Great game!

Once I heard that this game was going to come out, I knew I had to get it! It is so cool, with 16 tracks and at least 8 playable characters! The characters and tracks range from Konami games like Castlevania and Mystical Ninja. I am a fan of Konami games because of their gameplay depth and fun. The music is great too. I highly recommend this game to anyone with a GBA!
