MechCommander, GBA Style

This game is a combination of the famous computer games Mech Commander 2 and Starcraft. it is one of the best stratagy games i have ever played. unlike Advance Wars, this is not as power build more viehecle type of game. this game needs strategy. i would actually give it a 4.5 but, i don't know how. that is because, like advance wars, you must do the dumb and annoying tutorial missions, happily, there are only seven. the game offers a two player mode, and a difficult one. one player will be attacking, while the other will have to stay alive for 10-15 minutes. what you do is up to you. you can also setup what suits you can manufacture during battle. when you get this game, have fun.

Great Game!

I really enjoy playing this game. If you like playing starcraft, command and conquer, or other games of this type, I recommend this game to you. It has a great tutorial that explains everything in depth and it easy to follow. The game itself is incredible for a hand-held game. I love the new GBA and I can't believe the graphics it has. This game is very fun and utalizes all of the GBA's features. It is a bit complicated at first to remember how to build everything and what buildings build what, but once you get the hang of it, it's really fun. If you want to play a challenging game like starcraft on the road or at school, I recommend this game. I love it!

A Strategic Blast

First off, fans of the Mechwarrior series should note that this is not a mech combat simulator. It is real-time strategy with mechs. If you don't like Star Craft and other games of this genre, stay away.
But for RTS lovers, such as myself, Mech Platoon is a blast. Its scope is somewhat limited, having only 26 missions, three resources, and seven structures. The mechs and technoligies availible for research are numerous, however. YOu begin the campaign by selecting one of three powers to ally yourself with, namely the Trampler, the Leon, and the Minos. Each has a different starting mech and a slightly different set of missions. You then fight six missions on each home planet of your rival powers. If you selected Leon, you must fight the Trampler and Minos armies. You then fight eight missions which are common to all the campaigns against a forth power, the Barabel, on their home world of Ruin. ALong the way you collect parts from defeated enemy mechs and use them to create new mechs of your own. Collecting all the parts in the game is quite challenging. Missions are fairly difficult, with varying objectives.
All in all, an excellent game, highly recommended for RTS vetrens and newcomers alike.

I expected a game that was fun and kept me entertained. I was right. The game has a little differnent campaign mode depending on the group you choose. and always had a challenge. The game was easy to understand and quick to get going so it keeps you going for hours at a time. The game has 3 groups to pick from for campaign mode. The game it self lastes to 1 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours if your just doing one of the groups.

Well, if the folks at Blizzard couldn't figure out a way to fit starcraft on a GBA pak, this was almost as good. Good gameplay and graphics, if the music isn't to your taste just listen to a CD while you play. Buy it now, nuff' said.

Mech Platoon is a very good game that provides challenging levels, but fun never less; it does not play like advance wars whereas it plays real-time. You start by choosing one of the three teams, Leon, Minos, and Trampler. In the game you don't start out with the power to build all of the units, you acquire them by gathering parts that you salvage from missions, giving a new twist to the game. The units in the game have special abilities, which give it power over enemy units, for example it your unit you control has Assault - slay, the unit has more power when fighting close combat units. There are six buildings in the game plus one secret one, each of them can build, upgrade, or defend, however the seventh one... I won't give the secret away. As the game progresses the game gets harder and harder and the enemy units get smarter. But overall this game is a worth it, I suggest you to buy it because it's great, but it is hard to find in stores.
