I am a 37 year old female gamer. My husband bought this game for me for Chistmas. This was an extremely boring game. The levels were pretty much all the same thing. I finished the game within 2 days, and I wasn't playing it every minute. Overall a big waste of money.

Is this gameboy advance?

This game is not gameboy advance. It's not even gameboy. Almost everything went wrong here. Bad graphics, unresponsive controls, and terrible music. It doesn't even seem to have much in common with the movie except that they both have monkeys and they where both bad. Don't even think about buying this.

Not quite as interesting as it looks

Just looking at the box, it seemed like this could have been a pretty interesting game. I thought that it would be reminiscent of the Rolling Thunder game from back in the day. For some of the younger gamers, Rolling Thunder was basically a multi-tiered 2-D side scroller where you just blasted your way through the mutant-aliens or whatever they were. Although a simple premise, Rolling Thunder was a fun game. The screen shots on the back and the descriptions made me think of this. That really wasn't the reality. You start off the game with little short knife that you use to sort of creep up on snakes, kneel next to, and then kill. (Do What?) You eventually find other weapons, although they only add a little to the gameplay. You can't even fire one of the guns unless you're standing perfectly still. The character doesn't move about very easily. He has to run up to ledge, stop, grab ledge, slowly pull himself up. He kind of labors to move about. But I mean, in EVERY level the goal is to collect 10 scattered flags, which is a rather uninteresting objective. It's not as though they're hidden. And you can complete the levels without collecting all of them. So the game doesn't really do well as an action game or need any particular strategy to play. To me it was OK as a diversion, but I can't really recommend it. If someone would get started on a Rolling Thunder version for GBA though, they might have something.

I have only have had my gameboy advance for about two weeks. I think this game is okay the graphics arent great but it is fun for at least a half an hour of play every now and then. Overall I think this game is worth the price.

This is a GREAT game!!!

I don't understand all of the negative reviews. If you are a Planet of the Apes fan, you will see certain things in the game that pay homage to the film and TV series. If you are not an Apes fan, this game is still alot of fun. The game is alot of fun. I think the levels are challenging and detail is awesome. Kudos to GBA for putting this game out.
