Above average shooter that fans of the arcade game will dig

Konami's Silent Scope was a fun arcade shooter that featured a gigantic sniper rifle that magnified your target. Unfortunately you could easily get through the game with about five bucks in change. It was eventually released on the Dreamcast and PS2 with no extras and no gun peripheral and naturally wasn't received well. This GBA version is a near carbon copy of the original, and Konami smartly decided to add some extra stages (including one on an ocean cruiseliner) that help make Silent Scope a game you'll come back to. It's challenging at first, not to mention there are parts when you'll have to take out enemies via a headshot and it is hard to see and control at the same time considering the GBA's small screen, but once you get the hang of it Silent Scope is a breeze. The graphics are shockingly faithful to it's arcade counterpart, and the audio isn't half bad either although the background noise can be repetitive. All in all, Silent Scope may have seemed questionable at first to be released on the GBA, but I for one was surprised at how well it holds up here, and fellow GBA gamers will be as well.

I have my crosshairs on you, AND NOW YOU'RE MINE!

Uh, yeah, Silent Scope has always been my favorite shooting/guns & grenades game, and still is to this day. This game is very close to being exactly like the arcade machine it originated from! The good things and bad things about this game will be shown below here.....

Pros:

The graphics are wonderful.

You can shoot a terrorist anywhere you want and he'll die.

The levels and the explosions and vehicles on them are very cool.

The same voice guide in the arcade is back to help you here.

You can get a bonus life by sighting a hot babe(ROWR!)

The area which you fight in next is often choosable.

The same heroes and villains from the arcade are back in the GBA.

It is an extremely challenging game. It takes much effort to get to the next level, more and more as you progress. Wicked, huh?

The same sound affects are back from the arcade, like many other.

Cons:

The music is a bit goofy. That is, in the beginning of the game. It gets more intense and cool as you go on. A bright side.

You only get one continue and not as much time as in the arcade.

Your scope will occasionally dart around, making it hard to use.

All in all, this is a superb game and a near mint copy of the original Silent Scope. If you like shooting games, or if you are just into hardcore stuff, then I recommend this to you greatly. I may have a hard time with the third level and all, but who wants a game that's too easy to win? Exactly. No one. Buy this one and have gunfighting fun!
