Snood in name only

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 45 / 45

It's so upsetting to see such a good game get such a raw deal. I am one of the minions of Snood-a-holics, and I was thrilled to hear this version was making an appearance on the GBA. But it is just not the same as the PC version in any way. There is no high score, and whenever I finish a game, it seems I always end up with about the same score. (As opposed to the PC version where high score battles are waged regularly in my house.) A remedy to that would have been to include a battery in the cartridge so as to eliminate ANOTHER hassle, having to change the preferences everytime I turn the game on.
And I SWEAR that every time I start an "Evil" game after turning the game on, it's the exact same one as the one before.
Another thing that is amiss is the sounds. One of the most endearing things about the PC version is the trademark sounds...the "boings" and little tunes when you drop a bunch of Snoods. Heck, I even love the "Please" you hear in the beginning. I gather so do many other people, which is why its an option to turn it back on even AFTER you register the game. And the GBA also has background music. Background music in Snood? Since when?
I'm beginning to think Dave Dobson (the creator of SNOOD) had NOTHING at all to do with this incarnation. It is missing so many things that the PC version has, which make it such a great game. First and foremost, it's missing heart.

Snood Lover VERY Disappointed.

I love Snood on my PC and Macintosh. It's a great game but Snood for the Game Boy Advance was a huge disapointment.

A. Not only can you not save high scores, when you finish your game, the screen clears immediately with some lame animation and you can't even see what it was!

B. When you try to play it at a any of the non-puzzle levels (kid, easy, hard, etc.) you get to play only ONE screen and then the game ends! In the PC version, you play until you die, not till you clear one screen.

C. The menu and options are set up in a completely non-intuitive way.

Although the game play (concept, strategy) is basically the same thing as the "real" version, the issues above make the game a complete disappointment. I was so excited about Snood coming for the GBA as it seemed like a perfect game to port over to this platform but they really messed up big time on this one.

If you love Snood on the PC, don't buy this version

If it were an option, this game would get no stars. I love snood on the PC. In fact, I spend way too much of my life and college class time playing it. Therefore, I was completely exicted to find out that it was coming out in a hand held version. However, I was so disappointed in this format, I had to return the game. Don't let the other reviewers fool you - this is not the Snood that you love. There is no Hall of Fame. No Snood used counter. In short, the real motivation to play is simply not there. Unless you want to write down your scores as you go, there is no record to beat. BORING. Too add insult to injury, the harder levels of the game proved to be harder only in that telling some of the snoods apart was next to impossible. Please take heed, and only buy this game at a store that will give you credit if you are as disappointed as I am/was. Sorry Snood fans.

The perfect game to waste time

Ok, if I hadn't played this game for the computer as much as I have, I'd never even consider buying this as it looks stupid. I watched people playing this game on the computers at work for months and months before I got bored enough to try, and the truth is it's extraordinarily addictive. I found myself downloading it on my home computer soon after learning to play. It's one of those games that end up knowingly wasting hours upon hours of your life on. I know when this comes out, I'll spend most of my day at work huddled in the corner Snooding instead of waiting in line for a computer....It's a Tetris - puzzle like game, match 3 or more pieces of the same type to destroy them. The object is to use as few snoods as possible. 5 difficulty settings as well as puzzle types. Curious as to whether they developed a multi-player function for the GBA version...

This is the game that Nintendo made Game Boy Advance for! It's so much fun to take the game with me. I no longer have to sit at the PC to play it. It is actually more enhanced then the PC version. Get this one! It's a lot of fun.

Great Puzzle Game

Great PC and handheld puzzle game. If you want a game that you will start and not be able to put down for a while, 'Snood' is the game for you. The one downside to this game: very dark graphics.

If anyone is new to video games, or just downloads stupid corny games from co-workers, then listen up. Snood is an exact repleca of the Gameboy/NES classic Bust-A-Move. It really [ angered me ] when I saw this game on the computer, but that its made its way to GBA makes me want to, well, I'd rather eat broken glass. Bust-A-Move was made long before this [ game]and let me tell you, it couldn't be more of an exact repleca (expect for the added smiling faces - wow!). If you like this game, don't buy it - do yourself a favor and give your money to the classic - and the original - Super Bust-A-Move (for GBA).

I originally got the game for me but I'm happy to report the kids love it too. This is a great port with some new twists from the PC version that I've played for years. There is the classic game version (with some new new features, such as the wild card and parachuting Snoods!) and also a fast-paced game and a two-player game that is really hard for me to win. When the kids went to sleep, I sat down and enjoyed the puzzle levels which are my favorite.

Snood, you can't put it down.

Snood is so addictive, I've played for hours before I realize it. Then I put it down and say that's enough for today, then in 15 minutes or less it's back in my hands and time is flying by again. Prayer Warrior

I was addicted to Snood on the PC so I rushed out and bought it for my GBA as soon as it was available. The gameplay is good except for two complaints: the game locks up every once in a while and there are no high scores.
