This game is amazing! The create a skater mode is much better than the other ones I've seen, much more control. A large variety of tricks that you purchase yourself, lots of customization there. The create a park keeps me busy for hours, then when a friend and I play the new "tag" mode, we're hooked for a while. There is a lot of improvements, including the addition of manuals and control for them, better control for grinds, lots of new and powerful tricks, and so much more after a week I'm still looking! You decide your favorite mode, but the create a skater and park editor are keeping me busy:D The only thing I could possibly suggest is a simple mesh editor for the faces so it looks a little more like yourself, and that's not even a big deal!

This game is THE best in the skateboarding genre

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 is everything you could wish for and more! Its 100 times better than the first one. Theres plenty more to do and the game has many more skaters to choose from. I would reccomend it to any one who is a fan of the first game.

this game is way better than the first one. the player models are way better. the best part is that you can make your own park and skater. there are eigth levels and two hidden levels. this game will keep you playing for a long time. if you beat it you will still want to play it. this is the best sports game ever made.

Just plain fun - the best game I've ever played

This game is da bomb!I rented this game a while ago and I can't stop thinking about it ever since. It has everything a game needs, and plus much, much more.

Evolution - this sequel is an improvement over the first one, considering the success of the first game, this one is a definite hit. All of the good things were kept and added to in this sequel.

Here are some of the aspects of the game that make it as great as it is: first off - Career mode, can be kind of challenging at times, but earns u money which opens up new tricks, skateboards, skate arenas(parks), etc.

Another feature is the free skate - as always, great for practice and gettin to know the game better. (there are about 20-30 premade arenas accessible which is another great plus) The Create a skater feature is very simple, and is not the best feature of the game.

The Park editor mode is great and is pretty easy to use once u learn the basics. With it, people can use their creativity to make the greatest and most fun skate park possible.

Two-player mode can be the most enjoyable part of the game - battle it out with your friends in games like trick attack, horse, graffiti and tag. As a plus - the game has great music and even incudes a matt hoffman's pro bmx demo with it.

Overall - this game is really fun for all people who r into extreme sports or people who are just looking for a fun game to play - this is the one.

I never thought I'd say it, but a skateboarding game might actually be one of the best video games for the Playstation console ever. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is loaded with tricks that are easy enough to learn, but devastating to your opponent when you learn to land 'em perfect. The graphics are about as good as you can get them for this system, and the replay value is amazing. You can choose from 12 different skaters and over 10 locations. There are tons of things to do at each place, and you can make your skater better by earning money throughout the game. Throw that in with awesome multiplayer games, and you got something that you could only dream about.

But wait...there's more. You can also create your own skater in this game, unlock hidden characters, cheats, and things to make the game a little strange, but fresh so you don't lose interest. Think that that's the end? You're wrong. If you happen to grow bored with the game, (which isn't very likely), you can take some time out of your day to create your own skate park.

This game, though maybe not the best game for the system, (that star belongs to Medal of Honor), may have the best replay value for your money ever! (Second to Perfect Dark, which is for N64.) (...)

The game is good, but it was so completely predictable that it took a lot of the fun out for me. I was hoping for something newer and more original.

The best just got even better...

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, or THPS 2, is simply beyond words, except maybe the word "perfect". If you own a Playstation, or (as Sony now calls it) PS one, and you don't own this already, shame on you. Unless you own a fast PC or Dreamcast, you *have* to own this game. If you want near perfect gameplay, this is the best [money] you will spend (until THPS3).

Enjoyed this one almost as much as the original

I must say that Tony Hawk 2 is an amazing piece of work that should be in anyone's Playstation collection if they like a game that has tight controls, fabulous graphics, extremely long replay value, and is just an over-all fun game. Tony Hawk 2 is all of that and a bag of chips, some might say. I'm sure you can read all the reviews in magazines and such, and this is another one that doesn't disagree. Tony Hawk 2 is a great game, but I think it lacks a bit in comparrison to the first one. I don't mean by options for making your own skater and skate-park is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game, but rather the game itself just doesn't match to the first part. Levels are huge (good, I guess) but can sometimes be overwhelming. A lot more tasks have been assigned and that's good for replay value and challenge, but can daunt some players and just want them to stop playing (difficulty is much more this time around).

But don't let the objectives freak you out, the game itself is still great. I recommend buying part one first... because you'll get a feel for what THPS is supposed to be like. If you loved it like I did, get part 2 because it's worth your money. Just make sure you have a lot of time and patience on your hands, it might get messy and a bit frustrating at times.

This a VERY good game

Hi. I am a 12 year old girl. I don't skateboard, or want to, but this game is REALLY fun. There are lots of different places where you can skateboard, 2 player mode, and career mode. Also, the graphics are good. There are many different pro skaters you can play(for example, Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Steve Cabello, and Ellissa Streamer). If you want to buy a game that is really fun, buy this game!

the sequel to the once best selling skateboarding game of all time, tony hawk's pro skater (this took its crown).wth about 13 skaters to chose from,it's pretty cool.my favs bucky lasek.you can create your own park and character, free skate, play 2-player, have a single session, and play career mode.the career mode works differently from the 1st one though.you have to BUY your stats, moves, and boards with the money you earn completing tasks, but it's stil pretty cool.the park creater is fun and easy to do,the same with making your character.i like to free skate the best, though.it's fun because theres no time limit and you dont have to complete tasks, but the problem is you have to unlock the extra levels in career mode before you can play them in free skate.theres also spider-man and im not positive, but i think officer dicks in this one too.the cheat codes make it even cooler.2x moon gravity and unlimited balance imakes it awesome.it has a cool soundtrack with my 3 favs:papa roach, powerman 5000,and rage aganist the machine, and others like anthrax, naughty by nature, and more.heres the overall ratings:
Soundtrack:5/5-awesome
SFX-4/5-good
Control:
D-pad:3/5-fair
Analog-5/5-awesome (once you get used to it)
-------------fun ratings---------------------------
Career mode-3/5
Free skate-5/5
Single session-4/5
Park maker-5/5
Skater maker (that sounds cool)-5/5
Overall rating:10/5
Should you buy this game-hell yes!!
